An appalling narcissist
Daniel Wheeler is a narcissistic imbecile who thrives on self promotion and the peddling of utter nonsense supported by his fan girl 'Kaz' - who is a walking advert of why you should avoid anything related to the 8020 'lifestyle' plan!
He only serves himself and shows no care or consideration to anyone who has paid him money to "change their lives".
Run. Run quickly

Good if you don't know how to change your lifestyle
Been on this plan for a year. Some pros and cons.
Pros: it got rid of my fear of gaining weight.
It gave me freedom of eating what I like without the guilt.
Cons: gained 1.5 stone on this plan.
Its £25 a month, think its more now for some extras. Its a good place to start if your a beginner in changing your lifestyle. They have a fb page for members only which you do get support and encouragement from. However there is free fb weight loss pages that people will do the same and give you advice. With the change of diet you can pay for someone to help you with that. It will be cheaper then the whole plan.
The videos they do aren't that helpful. The videos that you get each week for the first 16weeks are outdated, boring and not that helpful the mindfulness worksheets are good.
The staff on the plan has always been kind.
You are signed up for atleast 16 weeks so £100. Its worth it to start off with only if your a beginner and don't know much about calories.
The plan focuses on CM loses not lbs and alot of us were told to trust the process. You will lose and gain cm throughout the plan. Your on the higher end of calories and told to work upto 10000 steps a day. I could only manage 2/3 of this most days some days I got over the step count.
Now I have reduced my total calorie intake of 175cals a day and enjoying exercise and getting stronger while losing lbs. As weeks go by Its likely that I need to up my exercise but its much better doing this then the plan.
Dan often 'jokes' & complains about other diet plans which doesn't do him any favours its good that he points out why they don't work but there's no need to keep going on about how bad they are and making fun of them. It seems that if you disagree with him your called a troll. The numbers in the fb group have gone down. Staff left the plan who knows why.
I joined the plan in March
I joined the plan in March. Honestly the help and support is fantastic. Always answered my questions. I've lost weight enjoying my favourite foods and not once have I gone to bed feeling hungry (because that's what I used to do when I was 'dieting') but now I'm really living honestly you wouldn't believe the amount you can enjoy and if you do go over by even a few thousand (I have because when I go to events I like to not think about calories so much I just like to enjoy the moment. you gotta live your best life just eat the cake if you want to !) The worst thing that could happen is... nothing! You won't gain, from personal experience all that's happened is maybe for a couple of weeks I've maintained but you know what I'd rather enjoy myself than deny myself. It's all about mindset. Mines changed forever and for the better. I'm so happy thanks to Dan and his team, really means alot. A huge mental battle is now non existent for me. Food is a source of energy. I love walking, I get my steps in most days. Balance is key and nobody should feel the need to starve themselves or sweat over a machine. Walking is the most natural thing anyone who is able to do and it doesn't feel like exercise when you're out in the fresh air and the sun is shining. Give it a go people even if all you do is the first 16 weeks like me. It's worth it I promise. I now know all that I need to continue a happy and healthy lifestyle x
I joined the 8/20 lifestyle plan after…
I joined the 8/20 lifestyle plan after seeing Dan on TikTok I did see he got a little bit of a hard time from trolls buts decided to form my own opinion .Since joining I have lost 91cms ,But being a very large lady I still have a long way to go on my journey ,But I have no doubt I will get there with the support of Dan his team and his lovely members .One of the main reasons i joined this plan is that I have a few problems with addition and mental health issues and I know this group will help with both and not just my weight problem .Dan and Kaz have gone out there way to message me privately checking in on me to see how I’m doing and offered advice how to help when I have needed it ,And I have felt comfortable reaching out for help in the group when I have needed support from members.I love the academy lives which yes some times go off the subject of nutrition but they are there to answer any questions if you have any problems .It’s like talking to a group of friends each morning that gives me the uplift for the day .I know his trolls will try and pick this apart but for me this plan so far has been life changing and has saved me going down a long dark black hole and I love being part of his group and glad I tried it for myself.
I first joined Dan’s plan back in 2021…
I first joined Dan’s plan back in 2021 after following him on his journey since 2017, the time was never right for me, found excuses not to commit. Until I bought his book and finished it within 3 days. Was completely hooked, so much made sense in it. I understood where I was going wrong and what I needed to do.
I joined 80/20 and it made me a more confident, happier and smaller person. A person I haven’t been for so many years. The mental side was a lot harder to tackle and took a little more time, but with Dans coaching and help we are getting there.
Would recommend the plan to anyone, so easy to follow and it works, scales don’t work and once you get over that hurdle you start to see the process work!
Full credit to Dan and the team. You have done more for me in the past year than so many diets, pts and doctors ever had.
This plan is by far the best plan I ha …
This plan is by far the best plan I ha ever been on it give me the freedom to eat what I want when I want and still lose fat, it is life changing for me and have already lost nearly a stone in just 5 weeks incredible, Dan Wheeler and gang are honest and transparent and I can't ask for more than that they are truly amazing thanks you to 80 20 for changing my life.
The guys listen …
The guys listen to everything and any issues health/mental wise you have they help you.
Its nice to know your not alone in changing your life. The 121 coaching is great and i dont mind paying that little bit extra for that personal coaching. Its helping me loads
Can i also say...... some people on here have given negative reviews. If are wanting a quick fix in lossing your weight.. good luck to you. Dan who runs the 80/20plan is a bit like marmite ... love it or hate it. We all have our own opinion on things and this is my way of a healthier lifestyle
I LOVE THE 8020 GROUP !!!!!!!
AND I LIKE MARMITE HA 👍
Amazing lifestyle plan which works!
This isn’t a diet it’s a lifestyle plan and shakes up everything negative you have learnt and been told. There is no pressure and easy to follow. It doesn’t feel like a diet and it’s completely stress free. I’ve got a severe comfort eating disorder and doing this has 98% stopped me. I’ve never done that my whole life. If I do comfy eat I eat protein and less food. As Dan has experience what we have, he understands and that really helps. You get everything calculated for you and it’s down to you to follow and do this by calorie counting and walking. I’ve gone from not been very fit to going to the gym every day and walking every day. I’m on my 9th week and I’ve lost nearly 60cms. That’s another thing. No negative weighing. All measurements taken every week. Amazing videos every week to watch, which really helps and make you rethink about why you are doing what you are doing. WhatsApp group for further support and Dan and his team are there for you for any support or questions you have. He’s received a lot of bullying reviews on this. If you don’t put the work in your not going to get results. For some it’s easier to blame others than look at themselves! For me he’s been inspirational, taken me from been depressed and down about myself to someone who has a spring in their step and feels better about themselves, more confident and very positive about the future with this plan. Thank you Dan and team. Keep it up and don’t let the bullies win.
Disappointing - avoid at all costs
I joined the plan in January 2021 after a trial week and I initially found the plan quite good. Lots of calories to eat although I did struggle to get the 10k steps in each day. I found the videos very very boring and it soon became apparent that there wasn't any feedback to be had after sending in my measurements each week. The academy was very strict and I witnessed several people being told not to post anything negative - posts were soon monitored and if anyone questioned anything they were either told to trust the process or kicked out. Towards week 7/8 I lost my mojo and it felt like there wasn't alot of genuine support out there for people who were struggling. It certainly didn't cure my binge eating and despite being dressed up as a lifestyle plan, it's still a diet at the end of the day.
I found the constant barrage of emails very annoying and soon found myself not bothering to read them. ONe caught my eye though - reading "Dan Jones died" was quite a shock and I was utterly disgusted to realise that this was clickbait.
I cancelled my direct debit after 10 weeks I think and I left the plan almost a stone heavier, and more miserable than when I started. As weeks went on I still kept an eye on Dan's facebook and tiktok and it makes me really angry that I was taken for a fool and conned out of my hardearned money. There is no support, all Dan wants is fame and its obvious that his latest venture is just another way of trying to hit the big time. He seems to care more about the numbers than his actual members. His advice on social media is worrying and his claims are outrageous. I saw his video stating that every obese person is overweight because of a trauma. Nope, not me - I had a lovely childhood, there has been no trauma. I just eat too much!
I've been too scared to post this review for some time now because of the backlash against ex-members and the way we are all labelled trolls. I am not a troll, I am a genuine, disappointed exmember who had a crap time on the plan and I hope that other people who are thinking of signing up can read this and think before doing so. There is a lot of information out there so I would suggest do your research and don't fall for the bs.
Unprofessional, waste of time and money
I first started the 80/20 lifestyle plan in March last year (2021). Throughout the plan, I had issues like not being able to get steps in, and was always told the same thing ‘trust the process’, spent hours of my day trying to achieve the 10,000 steps after long shifts at work. The 16 weeks finished, I had put over a stone on! But seen as I had lost inches on my wrists and arms I wasn’t eligible for a refund, despite being unhappy with my experience. I put the whole thing down to a bad experience and a loss of £125 and told myself I should’ve known better and should’ve read reviews on this man before investing money!
Fast forward to January this year (2022) where it was brought to my attention that Dan had said online on a live broadcast (which is still available to view) that he used the money from his 2,000+ members to pay off debts and was now skint. I was absolutely furious that my hard earned cash, that I got nothing in return for apart from a stone weight gain, was used to pay off his debt! I immediately contacted the company explaining how unhappy I was and explained I would like a refund. Initially, Sean the admin guy said that was fine but then in emails following asked me to provide daily screen shots (16 weeks worth!!!) of my calorie intake and step count to PROVE I had completed the plan. Of course I didn’t have this information from nearly a year ago and therefore was denied my refund.
This last week I had commented on Dan’s tiktok when I disagreed that I learned anything on the plan. (Basically 80/20 is never mentioned, I’m not actually sure why they call it 80/20 as they never actually tell you about anything relevant or nutritional), and Dan then replied mocking me calling me a ‘troll’.
I told Dan I was commenting under my full name and if he checks back I would appear as being a member of the plan, therefore my opinion was valid. I was then blocked and my comments removed.
It seems anyone who disagrees with this man, he says is a troll. He will likely say this review is wrong and written by a troll.
He says he has 100% satisfaction from everyone who completed the plan. I completed the plan, I watched those mundane, outdated videos, completed the ‘mindset work’, which really was nothing special and STILL put weight on. Oh but my wrists are cm’s down so I must be happy! (Sarcasm)
The plan is run by Dan (and even his qualifications are questionable) there’s no nutritionalist, no mindset coach, no relatable content. Just him and his hardcore followers.
Save yourself money and avoid.
Don’t let this ‘beast’ catch you in his net!
Definitely something fishy going on with this company!
This is a review from a genuine ex member and all I can say is that if you want to part with £25 a month for out of date advice, videos featuring experts which have long since left the team (and not replaced) and to listen to Dan and his team of turnips talk absolute nonsense for 3-4 hours a day- especially regarding sexual innuendo and how many times a day Dan plays with his little fella- then this is the plan for you!
Signed up to the 80/20lifestyleplan…
Signed up to the 80/20lifestyleplan only nearly a week ago and can honestly say I'm for the first time in years able to manage my diet. They are a great team who have been reaching out and willing to offer any help they can.I have a wealth of information dedicated to me personally. Also in my first week I faced my fears and had those body photos taken so I can visually see the changes that was a very big step for me I don't do photos or mirrors but I'm going to from here on in! My life was hurtling towards type 2 diabetes, ultimately this is all in my hands now but I'm hopeful I have everything I need tailored to me right here with Dan,Sean and the rest of the team 😊
Don’t do it, don’t make your mental health worse!
I’m changing my review and this is why:
I honestly fell in love (friendship) with the team Dan included. I’m going through hell but still tried. I was getting confused because I hadn’t had all the emails 15 went to junk until I added the address to my address book.
I’ve been reaching out for weeks begging for help. I was struggling and I wasn’t losing. I had changed my bank card because I left weight watchers to do this plan so when the second payment come around it obviously missed because I had changed my details. I did ask a few times for bank details to transfer the payment.
I get called a liar for saying my first few emails from them had gone to the junk mail box. Which had explained why I was so confused. Dan just turned everything onto me. All I was doing was begging for help. I desperately want to lose weight. Dan is a narcissist. He can’t admit when he’s in the wrong. If you have a problem it gets turned and twisted onto you. I’m utterly devastated. Lost £37 for nothing. And I still offered to pay for the £25 That was missed. And still haven’t lost weight. They weren’t friends they just wanted money. Devastated isn’t the word. They made out it was me when it wasn’t. I couldn’t stay anyway knowing they believed I was a liar when I’m NOT. I was quickly removed from the group.
I just had a phone call too threatening if I didn’t take this down he would put screen shots up of our conversations. Of which I have screenshots of the messages and emails etc begging for help as I was struggling with the plan. He states he has “proof” the first lot of emails didn’t go to me junk Mail. I have no idea how’s he’s fraudulently done that but the Mail did go to my junk Mail until I added the address to my address book. All were opened after I transferred them to my inbox.
He only wanted to talk when I changed my review. Dan is a nasty piece of work. If it doesn’t go his way he is horrible. I was promised a call back with him but there was always excuses. I can put all the screen shots of me asking for help from not just him but kaz too. He can threaten me all he likes. He can call me a liar all he likes.
If he does post conversations up of the very beginning it has very personal conversations. So I know know why he wanted that!!
He blames your mental health when the plan isn’t working for you. He blames you when he’s the one who is horrible.
I was warned by a couple of people after sharing his live shows saying he’s a vile human being. He treats you awful when it isn’t going well.
And if he does post my private conversation that’s not just a breach in data protection but a gross misuse of my trust and personal information. I will seek legal action if he does.
Read through all the reviews I can guarantee that the other ones who left the bad reviews he’s said are lying too. I’ve been left so upset over this and wish I hadn’t gone to him. Don’t sign up if you value your mental health. He calls you a liar when you ask for help. Luckily I have my husband and my daughter and daughters boyfriend who saw the Mail in my junk box.
What ever you do please don’t waste your money and kill your sanity!
From One Hun to another...
I completed my 16 week plan with Dan and the team and then stuck around afterwards for a few ill fated months, too. I believed in the plan, the team AND in Dan. Looking back now, I'm not sure why.
Regarding the plan - I lost weight, I lost cm's. It was fairly easy as the calories were so high. However - this is the important part - my weight loss plateaued quickly (as it does with most DIET's - sorry 'Lifestyle plans'). I got in touch with the team RE this and also asked Dan during a few Lives what I could do. I was hitting the 10k+ steps a day and was sticking to calories and water etc. I was always told to increase movement (I was already filling up any spare time doing extra steps) OR 'politely' told I'd done it wrong e.g. hadn't tracked everything like I should of etc. I feel there should be a review of calories for clients when their losses decrease not just 'well I looked at your information 6 months ago, that's all you get, pet.’
Regarding, everything else - *sigh*. To put it nicely. it's just really not worth it. Looking back on it all now I'm ashamed how long I stuck around for. I know I didn't stick around for Dan or the plan. I stuck around for the social aspect of it as I'd formed friendships with people and was worried about upsetting other members of the team/the academy.
While in the academy I was 'promoted' to a 'Mini Legend' (a glorified PR - 'here's your mission for this week - you need to engage with people in the academy by doing xyz etc' - no, why don't you suck a D - Dan and hire people to do these things instead of pretending you were rewarding long term committed members with 'money off' when really you were hiring them as PR).
While wearing those rose tinted glasses, I believed things Dan said. I believed the lies. I believed that these people on certain websites were just vindictive and basically anyone that criticised him was a troll - what an idiot I was (Don't get me wrong I am not on this site, nor do I condone a lot of hurtful things that I've been sent from this website about other members etc....but everything about Dan....pretty accurate!).
I have never had my eyes opened so quickly. Seeing first hand the way Dan has treated ex members, ex mini legends, ex employees etc has been shocking. Please do not believe the lies that ALL of these people have suddenly turned evil overnight. It's not the case. These are people who have fought alongside him against trolls. I've seen people being trolled themselves to protect his name and he does not give a shhht. Dan is now quick to call these people trolls and that they are liars etc. I saw a live today where Dan claimed that 'these people like to take snippets of the truth and twist them to their narrative' (partially paraphrased) if that isn't the biggest pot calling the kettle black.
Dan plays the victim when he claims that his 'trolls' do this. Dan blames his mental health and his addictions for the bad decisions he has made and that he continues to make. He only apologises by saying 'I'm sorry I did this, but my mental health/addiction was the reason so it’s not my fault' - he then blames any bad review on the reviewers poor mental/emotional state.
It became quite clear to me as I was making the decision to leave that Dan's main focus was money. Not as he repeatedly claims - to help people. I asked a question during one of the riveting 'Walk with Wheeler' Lives, a one word answer is what I got. And I'm paying for this? To watch you walk around the block and pay no attention to you paying clients?
I could go on and on as I've ALOT to say. But I'll just summarise by saying Dan is the owner of a plan that works (it's just a calorie deficit - google it and save yourself the money) but DAN IS THE SOLE REASON THIS COMPANY WILL FAIL. Similar to what I'm about to say has already been said. The people who are close around Dan, the remaining 2 team members and what's left of his veteran academy members. You need to be cruel to be kind. Step up and tell Dan that the things he is doing is making his company fail. The sad thing is, I think you know it but you're too scared to go against it all now. But, unless you speak to him now and stifle these bad decisions, this is all going to fail. Again.
Final words - Dan Wheeler is a Narcissist. 'Am I the drama?? I don't think I'm the drama' No Dan, you are the f'in drama. All of these people can't be trolls. All of these people can't be liars. Maybe you're to blame.
Absolutely worked
Absolutely worked, lost 2 dress sizes in my 16 weeks and have stayed at that size. Thank you everyone at 8020
Great lifestyle change
Not currently a member, but I did the 16 weeks and enjoyed the plan and still continue to follow it. Feel much happier and healthier than before. Thank you Dan and the team.

Honest Experience
The initial 16 week introduction consists of having your calories worked out for you (which you can easily do yourself for free online) and you’ll be told to walk 10,000 steps a day and anything less is seen as failure. The ‘content’ is a series of videos that do have a few noteworthy points, but the ‘support’ is quite inconsistent and the ‘lives’ are largely Dan rambling on about whatever is on his mind and seem to be more like therapy for him rather than helping his paying customers.
A while back Dan promised a printed book was to be released and a lot of people paid in advance for a copy but the book never happened and no refunds were given- the book exists as a PDF but it’s not the same thing.
Dan can be quite aggressive and direct, particularly to people who question what he’s doing. In my view Dan needs to take break from what he’s doing and sort his head out and beat his demons, which I hope he does, otherwise he’ll never be in a fit state to help others. The problem is he no doubt relies on the income stream to fund his ‘recreational’ lifestyle- enabled by his followers who seem to believe Dan still holds the key to helping them sort out their own mental and physical problems.
My advice would be to find another coach- there are plenty out there who can offer more stable and consistent support

I GOT WHEELERED
I try to start this with selecting no stars but unfortunatley i couldn't so a 1 star out of sufference it is.
I signed up and pay £900 upfront for 16 weeks thinking i was getting a nutrition and training plan plus weekly checkins and a 1 on 1 skype call.
Well the nutrition plan never arrived i was told to eat 2340 cals and use FitnessPal to track it. The training plan arrived it was walk 10K steps daily......... that was it.
A few weeks in i asked for a training plan and over a week later it arrived. When i looked at it i thought i could of googled a better plan than this.
The weekly 10 minuted skpe calls lasted about 4 weeks then it was excuse after excuse why he couldn't dial in and then like water left out in the sun they just evaporate to nothing within 8 weeks with no contact and not losing weight the 16 week plan was over.
After looking back i still to this day wonder what i paid for ? I wanted to lose weight more than anything i thought well its a lot of money but i am prepared to sacrfice that and my time to achieve the weight loss i desire, unfortunatley it was a one way ticket back to my starting destination after the money was paid.
I did learn a valuable lesson from it all i dont need to give away my hard earned money for nothing in return and that with effort and dedication i can do it myself.
The biggest lesson i learned ..................
I well and truly GOT WHEELERED

Innovative and inspiring
Innovative and inspiring. Since 2019, This guy and the 80/20 academy has supported me to literally change my life and attitude to myself and food. Remarkably. I thoroughly recommend 80/20 lifestyle for its supportive, innovative approach to handling weight issues. With the mindset element this plan or process is a lifestyle change requiring commitment to self ultimately. Dan wheeler the founder is one of the bravest, most honest, passionate, kind, caring, loving, generous, brave, human being I have come across. He is open and transparent about himself, his mistakes and his learning. This guy has a real gift and I believe an answer to managing body fat, weight , health, nutrition and lifestyle. The information he presents is factual, researched and innovative. He is calling out the diet industry for its untruths and money making marketing that Never helps people just pretends to for the sake of money making. Dan like everyone wants to make money of course but I can see his intention is to support people to get on the right track for them without dieting. Quote. ‘ Stop dieting start living ‘ He has something unique and special and is a pioneer in transforming the industry ….. a tough place to be when you’re calling out for Truths. Keep going Dan. You are changing lives including your own. Keep going. People like you are needed in our world.
