Gardening accident quickly fixed
We had an accident when gardening that meant the fibre cable got cut. An engineer was on site the next day and Thomas H did a great job repairing and making safe to ensure it didn’t happen again. Great service from Thomas and Gigaclear.

Loyalty Bonus secured at renewal
Called Customer Loyalty to seek a better rate for my broadband when the existing contract ran out. I've been with them since they first rolled out the service here 12 years ago. Justine was very helpful, and handled my request in a professional and friendly manner. I was happy to accept a new 18 month contract with a £10 per month Loyalty Bonus. Many thanks Justine.

got thjrough instantly on the phone
got through instantly on the phone, explained my situation and rapidly got the price reduced by £15 a month. Reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is because it's disappointing I had to threaten to leave before being offered the discount. Also annoying there is such a big gap between prices for new customers and returning ones.

I had a bumpy start getting set up...
I had a bumpy start getting set up with Gigaclear, I was given a date for the pre-works, two engineers arrived on that date and carried out some works, including leaving a coiled up length of cable at my front door ready for installation. I received a call a couple of days later and the representative I spoke to explained that there was no signal to my address from the main box at the end of the road, I was told that these works will take ~40 days, but they aim to complete them in 30 and I'll be notified when I can book the installation again. As I had waited nearly 3 weeks prior to moving in to the new property, I was quite frustrated to be told I'll need to wait a further month.
The next day I received an email inviting me to book the installation again, the closest available date was 20 days from that day. I called up to find out if my appointment could be brought forward given that the time frame from taking out the contract to actually getting internet at my property was around 2 months.
I spoke to a representative called Ali, who at first said that the date booked could not be moved because that was the pre-check appointment - the one that I've already had. When I mentioned that engineers have already been and installed real of cable at my front door, he was initially shocked as there wasn't any details on his system regarding this work. I emailed him a photo of the cables and explained that I've had the prechecks, I was told there was a fault the needs 40 days to rectify, then received an email inviting me to book the installation the next day, then only being able to book a date in 20 days time for the prechecks that I've already had! Ali showed empathy and understanding to the problem, he was extremely helpful and patient in helping resolve this issue. I feel he went beyond his normal duties and chased the relevant departments after the phone call, and he kept me informed via email. I then received an email later that day confirming that they can send an engineer within 5 days time to complete the final installation. Had it not been for Ali's exemplary customer service, I likely would've gone elsewhere.
I have now been with Gigaclear for nearly two weeks, and I've had no further issues. I'm happy with the service that I now receive.

Failure yet again
For the 9th time In the 13 months I have been with this firm my internet connection was lost. It is so frustrating and stressful to have to be talked through setting up the nodes every time. So much for moving to fibre broadband!

Appalling after sales service
I was very pleased with the initial sales calls which made the switch from BT very easy. Thing went wrong from there. I was told 3 different things about the pre installation visit and what was required and I had to chase for a date as they kept cancelling. I was told it would be on the Monday before the installation on a Friday. I waited in all day. No one came despite my calls and messages to Gigaclear. Then someone turned up unannounced on Tuesday from Kelly, their installation contractor. Luckily we were in to answer the door. The installation went ok on Friday although we were left to set up the Nodes ourselves which took several hours and a calls to Gigaclear. All was fine until we woke up the next morning with no service. That was 24 hours ago and Gigaclear has done nothing despite calls. They cant even tell us when Kelly will come to fix it. They refuse to offer a mobile router, as BT have done in the past. You really get the sense that Gigaclear is just a sales business which has very little connection to its contractor Kelly so can't tell you or even influence when they will come to do installations and repairs. They don't make any effort when things go wrong. Kind of wish I'd stuck with BT.

Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. The cheap entry price isn't worth it. They still do steep April price rises regardless and we constantly have outages. Every few weeks, at least, for hours sometimes DAYS at a time. They do "schedules maintenances" SO OFTEN but they've also been starting an hour or two before the scheduled time. Raising this with their customer service each time and getting it resolved takes days, sometimes weeks. Absolutely shocking service that isn't worth the money. Shambles!

I had a call today regarding upgrading…
I had a call today regarding upgrading my Gigaclear broadband, I had initially asked to upgrade prior to the installation taking place, and was assured that this would be fine.
Come the installation, this turned out to not be the case, and I had the lower spec service installed (despite pointing out that this was not what was agreed with Gigaclear).
The call today explained what my options are now (accepting that we are where we are), this was clearly explained and an agreed way forward was confirmed. I received email confirmation of this before the call had ended. So, despite my previous disappointment, the service I received today was good, hence the 5 * rating.
