Darlaston had problems delivering my order on the day promised but arranged for the next day. 7.30 pm my ordered arrived they put extra delivery on that night. Well done lads

Would not use Darlaston Builder again, they delivered, dropped 7.30am in the morning few days ago, our delivery gravel bags put in next neigbours front lawn, one of the bags torn, spilling some gravel on pallet & grass area, the reciept they left on the pallet was, wet, torn. Since we were charged £9 for local delivery in Wednesbury, we expected better service, delivery, Contacted Darlaston Building the same morning letting them know of the above problems on delivery and asked for replacement for the 1 torn bag and they could take the torn bag, the reciept they left on the pallet was part wet and torn and could hardly be read ask fro another reciept, they said they will pass on and do, but nothing done. No replacement bag sent to another reciept.

Absolutely appalling, made an order online paid online straight away.
Delivery was meant to be 3 days later.
I needed materials there and then and managed to find a company to deliver straight away so within an hour after order I phoned and cancelled.
Treated like rubbish on the phone and 14 days later am still yet to receive my refund.
I have tried contacting through email and their online ticket service with no reply.
Absolutely disgusting service please take your business somewhere else

Avoid avoid avoid, lied about delivery, damaged garden wall with lorry no repair undertaken, second grade slabs delivered complained and was told worst they had seen but what do i expect fron India. 3 attempts to replace quality no better. So came and collected sorry stole the slabs , still no replacements, no refund and out of pocket now persueing with trading standards, the police and courts. No reply now

My elderly aunt ordered some paving slabs. She lives in an annexe at the rest of our property and she told them to phone her on delivery.
They didn’t call - and since I wasn’t expecting anything, the sound of the lorry reversing outside our house woke me up and I saw the crane lift dropping a pallet on the grass verge outside of our property.. a house two doors away is having building work done so I went to check he wasn’t delivering to the wrong house.
The driver confirmed the delivery was for my aunt and I told him she lives at the rear of our property and he needs to drop the pallet outside her gate, not on the public verge outside of our boundary. He said “is it a problem?”
I replied yes, we’ve got to move this pallet ourselves!
He said “it’s only 50 meters...” and couldn’t give a damn.
This is the second time they’ve dropped items OUTSIDE our property rather than deliver to us properly.
It’s only 50 meters.. I wonder if they’d think “it’s only £50” if somebody didn’t pay the full amount.
Disaster from start to finish
Both website and employee placed order with confirmed delivery 3 weeks later on 8th. Phoned on the 8th to be told they had it planned for 9th, dismissive of their mistake. On 9th I received phone call to say £200 worth of decking boards, some 2/3's of my order, was actually out of stock... (Why was this stock not held aside or I informed before now when payment taken 3wks prior hmmm?) As they also could not tell me when the boards would be restocked either, I was finally refunded & left to source those elsewhere - not easy. I waited for my partial delivery, which simply then did not arrive day 2, no communication. Day 3 I complained again before my delivery was routed out that afternoon, low priority, and eventually delivered. Throughout this, DBM came across very blasé & reluctant to take any accountability for their multiple errors, that being busy made this acceptable. If you want to pay upfront for late delivery of a part order with inadequate customer service, order away.
They are in charge
Phoned today 16.40 to see if my delivery was being delivered today . no it is tomorrow , why was i not texed emailed . No you are supposed to ring & ask . In other words it is your responsibility to find out when you are taking delivery . There responsibility is to deliver on any date they want .O i did order these on the 20/05/20 . Think these just the the pee, using this situation for their own uses . Very poor customer services
Shocking service
Shocking service rang and made an order for something that was in stock paid in full however had to wait 3 weeks for delivery as had no earlier slot. Then rang a few days before expected delivery to check was all still okay and was told yes and being delivered the same date. A day was booked off work for this as I’m currently a key worker and then at 11 on the day of the deliver had a phone call saying the don’t have to stock and can’t even tell us when they will have it and when it can be delivered. No offer for refund or any other gesture for poor service just well that’s that and phone was put down. So now out of pocket with no product and no idea when receiving.

We had incorrect decking delivered to which the customer service team and manager took my responsibility for and we’re not willing to sort out. We were told to drive to the store as I can see most people were also advised on other reviews as this is their answer to everything.
When we asked if they could check they have the stock that we ordered before driving out of our way for their mistake, they wouldn’t and the manager decided to threaten my partner and advised he was coming to our house! The most unprofessional business Ive ever come across.
Poor Customer Experience
Their website showed they sold everything I needed. There was no indication online that anything was out of stock, so I tried to buy the slabs I wanted on the website but it stated that they had to calculate a carriage fee prior to payment. I submitted the quote request and waited but I received no quote within 24-hours, so I called them. A man answered, who from the offset sounded like he couldn't get rid of me quick enough. I said I was waiting on an online quote for delivery of some slabs and he interrupted me by saying "just come in store mate" and before I could get a word in he hung up.
I then traveled the 40-minute journey from my home to their store. Upon arrival a queue was running down the street, but I joined it hoping I wouldn't be waiting long. When I got to the front I explained I wanted to buy some slabs. They said you're supposed to buy them online and turn up to collect. I said I couldn't order them online and I'd be instructed to visit the shop, the man on the forecourt got annoyed with me and sent me inside. There was a huge queue. I waited my turn and when I got to the front, the man said they don't take orders for slabs as a collection, they only delivery them (oh, and the delivery timescale was "at least 4 weeks").
Not only was it a wasted journey but I felt like no-one gave a damn about my situation. I couldn't order online, I couldn't order over the phone, and the staff both inside and outside didn't make any effort to help me. I will not use them again, and encourage all others reading this to avoid them too. They could do with some serious lessons in customer service.
DO NOT BUY THEIR INDIAN SANDSTONE
I bought Grey Indian sandstone for my patio.
The weather was spiiting when laid so any defects in colour would of been difficult to spot.
The following dry day you could see brown staining at the edge of most sandstone.
the worst ones had been set to one side.
There were also Rust stains from the crate they were packaged in no protection was dont between the metal and the stone the whole thing had just been shrink wrapped.
I contacted Darlaston who took no responsibility whatsoever.
Purchase elsewhere this is very low grade poorly protected indian sandstone.
Top notch diy firm
Got bullied by the wife into starting on the home improvements I promised to do so I got a few quotes off them online. We were very surprised by the cheap prices and delivery cost so we went ahead and paid online. Five minutes later we had a nice young lady on the phone advising when we could have our delivery. Very chuffed all in all. Good prices, prompt delivery and very helpful. Turns out they are a brick supplier also as my sister in Wales just had 7 packs of bricks off them. A big 5 stars from us and will definitely be returning.

The other half decided that it was time we updated the front of the house so with us both being complete novices when it comes to anything building wise we rang our local darlaston branch (pinfold street) basically told them what we wanted (block paving with a different colour border and gravel to suit) the chap I spoke to asked for a few measurements but with our driveway being a bit of an odd shape he advised us to take all the measurements we could and to pop down with a drawing so he could give us a accurate quote.
So that's what we did the chap couldn't be more helpful showed us all our options advised on what gravel would go best showed us samples from all the different pavers and let us compare them to each other.
There was no hard selling he didn't try to upsell us either just let us know our options worked everything out for us and let us make up our own mind everything was so easy and relaxed so we ordered there and then delivery came the next day which was a bonus!
No problems what so ever cant thank them enough I will definitely be returning
RUDE, UNHELPFUL , MANAGER IS VILE!!!
Ordered Ballast and Cement mix from them, that part was easy enough.
They delivered it when we were out, no consideration was used about how we were to get a car on our drive they just plonked any old how making it extremely difficult to get our car on. But hey ho it was only going to be for a few days.
We didn't use all of the ballast so I rang up on the sunday to see if they take it back and spoke to a lady who was rude from the outset, put me on hold and transferred me to someone who had no idea why I was ringing, he took my details and said someone would call me to arrange collection. They advised this would be possible but I wouldn't get a refund - fair enough as long as it was off my drive I didn't mind.
I never heard anything back so I rang on the Monday and told that they have passed my details to a manager to call me back.
By Tuesday morning I still hadn't heard anything so I rang again. To be greeted by another rude lady (could of been the same lady who knows) huffing and puffing down the phone, told me they cant collected used bags back even though I had been advised otherwise. She wouldn't let me speak to whoever I spoke to on the sunday and Monday. She was blaming other staff for not taking my details down correctly - very unprofessional she just wanted argument with me so in the end I said get someone to call me and I put the phone down.
I immediately emailed through to make a complaint and asked to be called back. No one did so I called again but asked to be put through to the manager.
What a horrible horrible man, he advised why they couldn't take the used bag of ballast and I completely get it but having been advised otherwise previously I was hoping for a bit of help or advise of where to take it to.
He told me he didn't think the lady was being rude who I spoke to earlier that day as he was supposedly sat next to her - then if that is the case why didn't she let me speak to him that morning?
What a load of rubbish.
I asked where I could possible get rid of this large bag of ballast, his attitude was appalling especially for a manager. I told him that he was being very unhelpful and the response I got next is so bad he proceeded to tell me "why should I help you go and boil your head" and put the phone down.
For a male manager to say that to a female customer is shocking! to any customer to be fair would be shocking.
I get that building merchants aren't going to be corporate but still have some decent customer service skills.
I was going to be ordering more items for my garden but definitely will not be going here!
