Where to begin....Vertu renault exeter has really let me down. Bought a 3 Yr old car with only 26000 miles on the clock, youd assume a fairly relieable buy. Then I find a battery alert on the dash just 6 weeks after buying the vehicle. Then the whole dash starts lighting up, I loose electric assist with power steering and electric assist with brakes, lights flahsing at me....while traveling 50 on a 60mph road was very scary, and not what you expect from such a young car youve just bought.
I call exeter service department and the chap advises can be booked in at end of April, which would leave me 7 ish weeks without a working car. I asked if using a more local dealership would ruin the warranty I bought with the car, he didn't know the answer. I remembered when i bought the car I was told 'I can use any vertu dealership', so I try my local truro dealership. Find out that yes they could look atbthe issue, but as they are a Honda vertu, not a Renault vertu, they may not be able to fix the issue. Olivia at truro thank you so much for your help and advice, honestly the only person who has been helpful through the last few days, really appreciated her attempts to help.
In the end we have to send the car back to exeter, I call ahead to say the car will be arriving on a tow truck before midday the following day and I am told I will be updated when it arrives and they will get onto the diagnostic straight away so they can check if I'm entitled to a courtesy car or not (8 hours or more of work would mean I am entitled to that under the warranty I paid for). I wait, and wait...then I feel I'm going to have to call and check because they must have received the car by now. I find out yes they have but no one had updated me as promised. I wait for the diagnostics, and wait, and wait...then feel I need to call again I find the car has been there a day and a half and still no one has even begun to look at the diagnostics, all the while I'm left without a car and without any clue as to if I can get a courtesy car and finding I'm having to do all the leg work to check the status of the situation. Service department say they will check with manager to see if they can get things sped up or 'see what can be done about a courtesy car'....I hear nothing until the end of the day, I check at just gone 6pm to see if they are still open, they are I call to check, but service department have gone home, leaving me in limbo for a 2nd day. Only once my wife makes a comment regarding our disappointment on social media do we get a response with any speed, which I think is a real shame that social media posts to vertu motors generally is more reliable than multiple calls to the dealership you bought the car from, which has ended in only false promises of updates. I cannot express how let down I feel.by this situation and frustration doesn't begin to cover the emotions felt. We are now fully reliant on lifts from friends, family and work colleagues to get around our day to day routines as we can only afford one car as a family of 4. I can only hope now that things progress well tomorrow. I don't expect to jump the queue regarding the work, but I would expect to be updated as promised and the diagnostics to be done which would allow me to get the courtesy car I've paid for via warranty while my car is in the queue for work to be done. I don't think this is unreasonable and ive even started looking at my rights via consumer rights act. If things change, my rating may change, buy for now, 1 star feels generous to be honest.

The deal with Renault Exeter was agreed remotely via Carwow and the dealer without any fuss. The new car was prepped well with an efficient handover so all in all a really good experience.

My wife bought a mini from this garage. Unfortunately after a couple of weeks the main navigation console screen stopped functioning. There was no issues in the garage agreeing it was covered by the sale warranty. However the replacement item had to be manufactured in Germany. We were put on the waiting list. What extremely reassuring was that Vertu Renault Exeter kept my wife informed of the progress. Even though this replacement item took 10 months to become available and our warranty was for 3 months, Vertu honoured the warranty repair. What made this experience even more reassuring and stress free was Joe. Joe was impeccable and true to his word throughout this process. Never made promises or gave dates that couldn’t be honoured but always gave us accurate information and throughout was extremely helpful. I would definitely buy again from Vertu Renault dealership in the knowledge that if a fault unfortunately occurred and was covered by the warranty it would be professionally undertaken. Joe was amazing. Joe has restored all my faith in a dealership. Went beyond to reassure us. My wife was always extremely happy with her mini she bought from them and even happier now it’s all fixed.
