Avoid Big Motoring World Enfield if you value your time and expect basic standards.

I placed a deposit on a car and was clearly told—twice—that it would be ready to view and collect on arrival. I travelled over 3 hours to get there, so this was important. Had I known what I was walking into, I honestly wouldn’t have bothered.

When I arrived, the car wasn’t ready and I was left waiting around for ages. When it finally showed up, it was in a shocking state—filthy dirty, stains inside (looked like someone had been sick in it), green residue around the windows, and white paint on the bumper. Completely unacceptable for a car you’re about to buy.

They sent it for a wash, which just meant even more waiting. In total, I spent hours there before I could even test drive it.

The sales process was just as frustrating. Constant pressure to add extras, warranties, and protection packages—even after repeatedly saying no. Then when it came to paperwork, I’d followed instructions from three different staff members, only to be told I was still missing documents. Completely disorganised.

The whole experience was chaotic, time-wasting, and poorly managed. The sales staff seemed to be doing their best, but the overall system is clearly broken.

If you want a smooth, professional experience and a clean, ready-to-go car, look elsewhere. If you’re happy wasting an entire day dealing with delays and disorganisation, then this is the place for you.

You will be ghosted.

Utterly terrible, despicable, once they have your cash customers are treated with contempt, I Bought E-tron from Cannock branch, 3 days later complete engine failure. As I write this - day 10 since breakdown - Big Motoring world have still not acknowledged or responded to my many emails, calls and letters, not ONCE have they called me regards the breakdown and the fact my car is now a very expensive paperweight, all you get is an automated repsonse or a call handler or message taker. This company has left me high and dry and is NOT interested in supporting its customers once they have your cash - you will be ghosted, in addition the warranty is not worth the paper it's written on, My only option is Legal recourse, You have been warned.

The whole experience was terrible

The whole experience was terrible.
Booked an appointment sales person was 15 minutes late to that didn’t apologise.
Looked at three cars, we were trying to buy two one of myself and one for my wife.
After 4 and a half hours the finance guy said he didn’t even know I was buying a car. I then told them to leave my car as it was taking too long. Then apparently it was all sorted and the finance was approved.
Told them I didn’t want it.
Took another hour to sort my wife’s car out. 5 and a half hours is way too long to get a car. The cars were not brought down they were all in the outside forecourt where we visted all the cars at the same time.
They seemed only to car about selling warranty, wheel and paint protection . Worst customer service I have ever received

Vehicle condition misrepresented

I paid their advertised £129 vehicle transfer fee to move a Mini Electric matching my exact requirements from Sheffield to Camberley. This was based on the understanding that it had passed a “200-point inspection” and would be presented in appropriate retail condition.

Upon viewing the vehicle, the condition was significantly below expectations, with heavy swirl mark damage on the paintwork and a filthy engine bay. I requested a refund of the transfer fee. I would not have paid for the transfer had the true condition been known. The vehicle had been misrepresented by Big Motoring World - there is no way it could have passed the stated rigorous inspection.

Although the vendor acknowledged the condition of the vehicle when I registered an official complaint, they have refused a refund. Their argument being that they had paid a third party haulier to move it. I feel this is irrelevant. I will initiate a chargeback on my credit card.

In the meantime I have purchased an appropriate vehicle from an approved Mini retailer. Slightly more expensive but peace of mind.

Lies & pushy sales tactics

Initially helpful but the salesperson (Hamit) mentioned at the last second there was only one key. On the car we were purchasing, this is a big deal for customising and making it your own car, and isn't a cheap fix. He then lied and said he told us beforehand, which neither of us heard. In our opinion this should have been disclosed on the ad itself for transparency and to save everyone time and wasted energy.

We were then offered a special arrangement for a deposit to be placed - £500 which would be refundable within 24 hours. When I questioned where this would be shown on paperwork or evidenced at all, he couldn't produce anything and wasn't willing to amend their documents. Dodgy much?

His attitude then turned very pushy and he lost his cool with us. We walked away without paying the reservation he was desperate for us to confirm as we wanted to review and get back to him that afternoon, and we didn't even get a goodbye.

Working in sales myself I would expect a much better customer service especially when the deal was far from dead in the water. It certainly was when his act dropped.

Very poor all round. I'd be very cautious before committing.

Amazing experience

Gus greeted us and took us through our options he was helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. The cars were brought inside for us to look at and he was able to answer all questions we had about the cars. We were not pressured into a purchase as some companies do. All the cars were of such a high standard and the prices were so reasonable. All the staff taking us through the finance road tax and insurance were helpful and we got some amazing extras added on to the car I can not recommend enough

Avoid Big Motoring World – Faulty Car, Poor Aftercare & No Accountability

We purchased a car from Big Motoring World as we are expecting our first child and needed a safe, reliable vehicle. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful.

A fault appeared immediately upon leaving the dealership. We returned straight away and were told it only required a “computer reset.” This did not resolve the issue. The fault persisted, raising serious concerns about the quality checks carried out before sale.

We were then directed to a local garage through their aftersales process, which failed to fix the problem. At this point, I requested to reject the vehicle under my consumer rights, but was told the car must first be assessed at one of their service centres.

This caused significant inconvenience. The service centres are not local, and despite the car being faulty from the moment of purchase, no courtesy car was provided within a reasonable timeframe. This falls well below expected standards of aftercare and customer service.

We were eventually booked into their Snodland service centre. While driving there, I received an email—not even a phone call—stating the required part had not arrived. This demonstrates a complete lack of communication and customer care.

I requested a call back and received no response. When I attempted to contact them, I was left on hold for over 30 minutes before the call disconnected. Repeated attempts resulted in the same outcome.

Overall, this experience highlights:

Poor vehicle preparation checks

Extremely weak after-sales support

Unacceptable communication standards

Lack of accountability when faults arise immediately after purchase

Based on our experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before buying from this company. Their advertising does not reflect the reality of their service.

A terruble experience

We spent six hours at the dealership, much of which was spent waiting. While the first salesperson, Zara, was polite and informative, our experience with the second staff member, Lillie, was the opposite; they were very rude and left us waiting with a toddler for an extended period without an apology.

Furthermore, we were sent to a Post Office to complete a tax form, only to be told that the garage had not completed the necessary paperwork on their end. After being left on hold for an unreasonable amount of time, we were told to return to the garage. Upon our arrival, there was no acknowledgement of this massive inconvenience or any apology offered. Based on this experience, I would feel compelled to discourage others from visiting.

At the start the hospitality was great

At the start the hospitality was great, store is well presented. When we saw the car it was not presented well the car was not washed found lot of dust with cobwebs. We requested from the start we need the car to be washed and polished if we go ahead with the deal. Since I had not taken their finance way of talking to us changed and they said we will only wash the car. We went ahead with the car since we came from 3 hrs drive. When we took handover of the key car was not washed properly just water was sprayed we eve found spider and cobwebs on the door hatches. Was so disappointed. I had to take the car for wash myself and washed it properly. Finance team also did not had friendly smile

I’m sharing this as a warning to anyone…

I’m sharing this as a warning to anyone considering buying a car or using finance through this company.
In 2025, I purchased a Vauxhall Grandland X from them. Within one week, I took the car to an official Vauxhall dealership for a major service, where I was advised that the timing belt (cambelt) needed to be replaced immediately.
I contacted the dealership I bought the car from, but they insisted their mechanic had carried out all checks and that the car was in good condition. They then redirected me to the finance company, MotoNovo Finance.
When I contacted MotoNovo, the issue was repeatedly delayed and not resolved until October. By that time, I had no choice but to replace the cambelt at my own expense to avoid serious engine damage.
Despite this, I was later informed based on an “independent engineer’s report” that the cambelt was due for replacement, so its a maintainence issue and they refused to reimburse me.
I am sharing this so others can make informed decisions. If you are considering buying from this company or using their finance, please take time to read customer reviews especially the 1–3 star ratings. These often reflect real experiences.
Once payment is made, getting support can become extremely difficult.
Proceed with caution.

ANYONE BUYING FROM THEM MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OWNERSHIP

After a year of purchase, which was already a shocking experience where I waited 6 hours after purchase to receive my car. I have now found out after trying to tax my car a year later, the car is still on the fleet scheme and they couldn't even be bothered to confirm with the DVLA that the car was in my name they did the bare minimum and took themselves off it so they wouldn't be liable. They didn't hand me a log book or a green slip but didn't question it at the time as I was told it was all sorted after waiting 6 hours to get the keys. After speaking with DVLA it turns out that my insurance was null and void due to the dealership failing to send off the v5c to change hands, turns out its a breach of contract but thankfully I never crashed and have now changed everything into my name. DO NOT purchase from this company, because as soon as they have your money they go from 5 star service to -5.

Sell faulty cars. Scammers. Rude staff

Absolute joke of a company!!!
After sales support is shocking. It's none existent. Staff are very rude and don't know a thing when you ring up!!
I'll be contacting trading standards about this company and taking it further. Paid for a years warranty and they cant even get our car into a local garage. Really stupid. I then rang up about buying a car and surprise surprise someone jolly answers the phone but after sales your waiting half an hour plus.
Don't know who employs these people. But as a business your going to lose ALOT of business due to the after sales team not being able to do their jobs properly and being damn right rude. As said I'll be contacting trading standards and the car ombudsman about you guys along with other people. You sell faulty cars and are straight up scammers!!!
