I do not recommend this pet insurance provider. I’ve been with them for two years, and while I initially overlooked some issues, the experience this year has been extremely disappointing. My dog ingested a corn cob and required emergency treatment, which resulted in a $6,000 bill. While I was aware that the policy had a $2,000 limit for foreign body ingestion, I had no prior knowledge or experience to understand that this amount wouldn't be sufficient for such an emergency. I believe that pet insurance should have the customer’s back in situations like this, offering more comprehensive coverage to avoid overwhelming financial burdens. Instead, I was left with over $4,000 in expenses after the claim was processed. It feels as though I was trapped by the limitations of the policy without enough support or guidance from the company. I will be switching to an insurer that offers better coverage and ensures that pet owners can rely on them in times of need.

One of the first times for me that an employee actually cared about my situation with my dog named Caeser.
Caeser is my 8 year old Labrador who was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer on New Years Eve 2024.
This news was devastating to me. The pain and stress was unbearable.
pd pet insurance has been outstanding with all my claims and it has limited the stress I’m going through.
I would recommend everyone to get insurance for their fur babies. Yes it can be financially hard, but in my situation it has been a blessing.

Or an insurance company that doesn’t increase our premiums at renewal even though they know they will make a loss due to monthly injections.

I forwarded a claim for my dogs Vet visit at 10:21am and by 11:44am on the same day, Mallory had responded with an approval and confirmation of the payment amount.
This is such efficient and fast service, and I am very impressed!

My dog had to have stitches along his chest after he ripped it chasing rabbits through a fence. Straight after the vet visit and receiving the treatment notes/ invoice, I put in a claim and the next day by midday the money was in my account and I had a confirmation email that my claim went through.
They are really good and make you feel reassured that you won’t be out of pocket with expensive vet bills

Highly recommend PD!
I have comprehensive cover for my cat, who had to get 2 teeth removed due to damage.
I’ve lodged the claim today at 7am, had an acknowledgment at 12pm, advised of cover at 1.30pm and money paid - excess into my account not long after.
Not sure what other company would be that prompt!

Quick and Easy
Our experience with PD pet insurance has been fantastic. 1 year old Lenny has already had 2 claims paid out in full (he has an appetite for slugbait) and we couldn't be happier with the service. Easy online claims process with the claim accepted within hours. Definitely helps to alleviate the stress of having a sick pet knowing the cost is taken care of.

Took out accident cover for over one year. When our dog had an accident, the claim was declined. Very quick to take policy money each month but non-existent to help protect the health of your pet. PD Pet Insurance are the only ones benefiting from your bank account. Be WARNED: they are not the quality pet insurance they claim to be! Cancelled policy with immediate effect!

I've had my cat insured with PD for the past four years. She was recently very sick and had a five-day stay at the vet with loads of tests and treatment needed. I lodged a claim with PD as soon as I made the payment as it was quite a sum (over $2000) and was quite nervous about having to wait. However, I received a reply from their claims consultant, Mallory, and had the money back in my account by the very next day. Honestly, very impressed and would highly recommend.

I have had a policy for Gampa-Blue (cat) and Gina-Jean's (dog) for 3 years now. I have NEVER ever battled with a single claim. It was the BEST thing I every did with insuring my fur-babies with them. (even better than getting married🤣). I email my claim at 3.00pm and by 6.00pm I have the money in my account. You CANNOT get any better than that!!!!

I have had a few claims unfortunately due to two very active dogs. The experience of my claims has been faultless. In most cases claims settled within day, I think the latest I’ve waited is a week. The process is straightforward and communications fantastic. I love the seamless process and the follow-up calls for longer problems to check on our dogs progress on the problem.

The last two times we’ve made claims, the claim has included multiple vet visits and invoices, amounting to large sums of money. Both times we’ve had to chase the PD team multiple times to get them to actually pay the proper amount back, as they’ve only paid one invoice (this time they said via email ‘we are happy to let you know that your claim has been accepted’ and paid me back $27), when the total amount actually came to over 5k - money I didn’t have and really needed repaid with urgency. It took around three months to get my money back the first time, and this time we’re up to weeks. It takes a lot to get everything together to send to them, and I don’t have time on top of all the stress of trying to look after a very sick animal and work full time, to have to keep following up and re-explaining the issue to every new person who answers the phone.
If PD fixed their website so that the ‘add more to this claim’ function actually worked, it would be a lot easier to manage a claim from both ends. I don’t like leaving negative feedback, and have stayed with this company even after the first experience a year ago, but feedback is the only way people know what’s going on and hopefully this will give them an opportunity to change things.

I have just signed both my dogs to PD insurance after a very unpleasant and expensive experience with another well known pet insurance company. Luckily I was able to change and I had PD insurance recommended to me by several other people. I can't praise the customer support team enough. It was a truly incredible experience, very knowledgeable and transparent advice and walking me through the process and just there for me 24/7. My first contact was with Trish who is an incredible ambassador for this company. My policy is very clear and concise and easy to understand that is a breathe of fresh air. The company itself has amazing transparency of all it's legal and regulatory compliance and is intended to make their customers lives so much easier and I have a great feeling of security that I didn't with my previous insurance company. I would absolutely recommend this company to any pet owners who are trying to navigate the tricky situation of insurance. Well done.
