Easy, efficient same day claim process

My wee dog Roxy unfortunately had an accident 2 weeks after I joined PD Insurance The claim process was all online, simple and I was refunded that same day! A month down the track she jumped off the furniture and re injured her leg, same great fast and efficient service. Unfortunately it turned out that Roxy was becoming paralysed due to a tumour in her nerve plexus and we had to get her put down as she was unable to walk and had no quality of life and PD even covered the cost of the euthanasia and were super sensitive during the process. If I could give 6 stars I would! Highly recommend.

AMAZING

PD Pet Insurance can safely add Best Pet Insurance to their name
There response times and claim settlement times are very quick
Our little dog was operated on yesterday and today I sent thru the claim and its already been settled and the funds will appear in my account in the next 2-3 day Thanks PD Pet our little Crumble is well on the road to recovery.

Supa quick refunds

My dog needs a regular allergy injection, and PD Insurance always pays super quick. e.g Last week had a vet appointment at 9.15 am, lodged the claim at 11.30 am (along with receipt and clinic notes) and the refund was in my bank by 3.30. Can't get better than that! Highly recommend them, they are lovely to deal with.

Unreal service

Unreal service. Our cat was hit by a car, so it was a stressful time. Once I submitted the claim it was approved and paid the same day. The follow up appointments were also approved and paid the same day. Amazing!

PD pet insurance has been nothing short…

PD pet insurance has been nothing short of phenomenal. An absolute financial lifeline in helping me give the best care for my Lab Mastiff cross Leilo! Claims are settled very quickly and any questions are answered quickly. I do not hesitate in telling anyone that will listen that if they have a fur baby PD is a no brainer. Special shout out this time around to Mallory who settled my latest claim, but I've found everyone on the other end of the phone really fantastic. Thankyou from jillayne and Leilo

My dog Layla was advisor go to PetRehab for her very bad arthritis in her hind leg. Contacted PD pet insurance to see if she was covered.
Mallory the insurance claims officer said she’d ring my vet to make sure it was not a previous medical issue. Within two hours she had got the answer from my vet. Then emailed me to say all would be covered including medications for pain.
Got an invoice and receipt from PetRehab and within four hours the insurance money was in our bank!
Amazing service …so friendly and helpful.

Misleading, Manipulative, and a Risk to Your Pet’s Wellbeing

Our experience with PD Insurance reflects a pattern of denial rooted in vague, discretionary policy language that obstructs responsible veterinary care.

Despite advertising coverage for retained deciduous teeth, claims are routinely denied due to a 180-day dental waiting period — effectively nullifying access to this benefit during the medically necessary timeframe (typically 5–7 months). The policy wording omits this clinical reality, rendering the benefit functionally unusable.

Premiums were increased without substantiated justification — in our case, a 50% rise attributed to general market forces, later walked back following dispute. This suggests the increase was neither necessary nor defensible.

Essential ear drops prescribed by our veterinarian to conservatively treat a fungal infection were rejected on the grounds that they fell under the catch-all exclusion for “ointments and other applications.” The wording is overbroad, encompassing nearly any topical product irrespective of substance classification or medical purpose.

The most concerning incident involved our senior dog’s eye consultation, neurological exam, and blood test. Despite being medically appropriate and undertaken to rule out treatable conditions, the claim was denied based on the insurer’s “inconclusive diagnosis” clause (Page 12). This clause appears designed to invalidate legitimate claims during the critical diagnostic phase of care — even in cases where no definitive treatment exists.

These examples show a troubling reliance on strategically ambiguous exclusions that allow the insurer to override clinical judgment. We strongly encourage any potential customer to scrutinise their policy wording, particularly the exclusions section, which is extensive, subjective, and in our view, written in bad faith.

We have terminated our policies and returned to a reputable provider. Based on our experience, PD Insurance functions more as a denial mechanism than a safety net.

Disappointed

“I was disappointed to learn that my policy had been renewed a couple of years ago with changed terms for one of my cats — something I was not clearly made aware of. Although the change was mentioned in the fine print, I hadn’t realized it meant I would only be eligible for half the coverage I originally expected. While the claims payment was processed promptly, it unfortunately didn’t even cover a quarter of the actual expenses. A clearer notification of such significant policy changes would have been appreciated.

Incredible insurance company

We got standard pet insurance for our cat. He developed a potassium-deficiency based illness out of nowhere and PD came to our rescue. Approved our claim within 24 hours and paid out within another 24 hours. Pepper is recovering steadily thanks to them enabling us to take him to the vet early and put him into hospitalisation.

Further to that, and the reason I wanted to write this review. They sent us a parcel with goodies for our cat to wish him a speedy recovery. So grateful to be with an insurance company that has a heart. ♥️

I have made my first claim with PD Pet…

I have made my first claim with PD Pet insurance and I have to say I'm really impressed, it was approved 2 hours after i sent it in. I'm so grateful I took this out when my boy was a pup, my vet bill wasn't too much but he needs further testing so I'm very grateful I have this.
