Informative and productive call
I had a call appointment with Laura today and it was everything this type if call should be.
Starting with the call being on time, Laura was friendly and helpful, explaining everything in sufficient detail and checking my understanding as we went through.
Laura promised to send me information, and she did so.
She explained what to expect as the next steps and gave me timescales so I know what will happen going forward.

From our first contact with Jackie Hart we felt that we were in safe hands. She explained in great detail how our request to take equity out of our property would proceed.

Smoke and Mirrors
I was pushed into dealing with Hub by Phoenix (even after ticking the "not interested" box on the Phoenix medical declaration) and as my pension is with profits and a guaranteed annuity rate I was surprised (having been advised no sane financial advisor would ever advise moving it (by my own presumably sane financial advisor)) Hub could offer a better deal on an annuity. But here's the thing, although I could (potentially) get a few pounds a year more through Hub - the Phoenix guy couldn't tell me who the mythical annuity provider was or any of the details (Hub obviously quote more than Phoenix for a reason i.e. you are now being back-end plundered by two parties (the miracle of binary free-market financial expertise lol) the percentages and fees are then bandied around for transferring your (don't forget this is what's left of your [not theirs] already mightily plundered fund) hard earned money and then various "features" are thrown at you like "overlap" etc. When you ask for these "features" to be explained in writing they can't do it unless you are deaf, blind or otherwise invalided. If you ask for worked examples they can't provide them (because they already explained it duh!). Finally the end result is immense customer dissatisfaction - dissatisfaction with a UK financial machine which has continuously excelled in failing all of us our entire working lives. Long live (the memory of) Bernie M!

Outstanding service and expertise from Alison.
We made contact with Alison Wren some years ago and after sound advice we concluded that at that time Alison quite rightly and sensibly suggested that we wait a while longer and revisit the Equity Release again. So we did and we thoughtfully planed and prepared matters with Alison’s expert advice.
Alison has been extremely professional and supportive which we felt was a major quality to have especially with releasing equity from our home. Alison talked and walked us both thoroughly through the entire process and was never ever late in replying and always in communication and just basically super responsive, respectful and reliable. Alison showed great patience including excellent attention to the smallest details,and and we never felt pressured or rushed throughout the entire process. Especially as we first knew her some years ago and her advice was a hundred percent spot on by suggesting we held off a few times over the years until this year.
In conclusion we found the entire process and service from Alison first class and she is a huge credit to Hub Financial Solutions and their client portfolio.
