Avoid Fleeto – unfair charges and terrible service
I had a really bad experience with Fleeto. They charged me for excess mileage even though I did not go over the agreed limit. When I asked for proof, they couldn’t provide proper odometer readings or any clear evidence.
On top of that, they added charges for so-called “damages” that did not exist when I returned the car. These were either normal wear and tear or completely made up. No proper photos or inspection reports were shown to me.
Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive throughout — emails and calls were either ignored or met with generic replies. Instead of addressing the issue, they just pushed me to pay.
Overall, I feel scammed. I would strongly warn others to avoid Fleeto. There are many other companies that are more transparent and professional.

Every vehicle goes through a check in and check out process that records its condition and mileage before and after hire. These reports, complete with time stamped photos, are automatically emailed to the customer using the email address provided during the check in and check out, giving you a clear record for peace of mind.
If a vehicle is returned with any issue that affects its safety or roadworthiness, we simply ensure it’s repaired before going back out — as any responsible operator would. This process helps maintain high standards and keeps every driver safe on the road.

Fleeto ignores the law and takes your money — avoid them
They took £80 from my account without consent, claiming to cover a £75 bus lane fine — but the fine was issued in error, and I had clear proof.
Instead of transferring liability to me so I could appeal (as the law allows), they paid it themselves and charged me more.
Worse: after my rental car was damaged during a criminal attack, they faked a return report without me and sent a huge repair bill.
Fleeto acts against drivers, ignores procedure, and profits from abuse.
Never rent from them.

We understand your frustration, and we actually share similar concerns when it comes to how certain fines are handled by TfL. Unfortunately, bus lane fines are the one type of PCN that cannot legally be transferred to the driver. This is something we explain clearly during the handover process. In these cases, we’re required to pay the fine directly to prevent escalation, and then recover the cost from the driver as outlined in the agreement.
Regarding the vehicle damage, we fully appreciate the difficult situation you were in. However, as the incident occurred while the car was in your possession, we have a duty to repair it promptly to keep it roadworthy and safe for the next driver. Just as with any owned vehicle, repairs are necessary, and we ensure they are carried out properly and transparently.
For clarity, all our vehicle check in and check out reports are completed digitally, with time stamped photos automatically sent to the customer by email. This ensures full transparency in how vehicle condition is recorded.

pls pay attention for all private hire drivers fleeto is a big scammer company they give the vehicle for hire and if you return the car before 3 months even you give advance 2 weeks notice and return the car they not refund your deposit back pls dont hire a car from them i have 3 more collegues as they had a same happened and i am the one of them as he took my deposit and never gave me my deposit so pls make sure when you hireing the var from them they misslead the information and when you return the car they point out new terms and conditions which is they have never manshion when they giving you hire rental agreement.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, we strongly disagree with your comments, which are unfair and misleading. Fleeto operates with full transparency and has proudly served thousands of private hire drivers across London with honesty and professionalism.
When you sign a hire agreement, the terms including contract length, notice period, and deposit conditions are clearly outlined. Just like with a mobile phone contract, an 18 month term would naturally offer a better rate than a 12 month term, but early termination comes with charges, which are also detailed in the agreement you signed.
Returning a vehicle early without completing the agreed minimum 3 month hire term may result in deductions or loss of deposit to cover costs, as per the signed contract. Should you have wanted a shorter term, we may have been able to adjust it before the start of the agreement. In many cases, we also try to avoid these charges unless there is a clear breach, as our aim is always to maintain good relationships and welcome customers back on hire.
We use a clear system for agreements and vehicle check in and check out reports, with time stamped records automatically emailed to customers for complete transparency.
