For me, especially in an emergency situation like a hard drive failure, good communications is vital. Xytron excelled in this and I felt very confident that the drive was in good hands. The drive was badly damaged but Xytron and the professionals who work there did an excellent job recovering the data I needed and more. I cannot recommend them more.

Having suffered the trauma of the fatal blue screen, I asked a local IT company to recover the data from the hard drive of our laptop. After nearly a week, I was told they could not recover anything and was referred to a company with a London address, based in Wales. The forum reviews were dreadful and very frightening; given the valuable database I was hoping to recover. I spent a long time researching alternatives and was impressed with the reviews for Xytron Data Recovery on both this site and others. I was, however, concerned that they were also based in Wales! After speaking to Richard Cuthbertson and being assured there was no connection, I agreed to send my hard drive for recovery. I can reassure anyone in the same position that you can absolutely rely on Xytron Data Recovery to provide a service second to none. They were honest throughout the process - even warning me that because the local IT company had left my hard drive running for a week, it had reduced the possibility of recovery. Their communication was excellent and I was always able to speak to someone with expert knowledge - without being kept waiting. I initially spoke to Richard on 30 August (Tuesday) and he arranged collection of my hard drive by courier the next day. By 2 September (Friday), I was emailed a zipped folder containing details of all the files that could be recovered, including our vital data file. I was also provided with a fixed price quote, if I wished to proceed, which I was delighted to. On 5 September (Monday), the courier delivered the old hard drive and a passport drive, loaded with all the data files, which have now been successfully restored. Xytron are by no means cheap; but they are fantastic value for money and provide a level of customer service that is almost unheard of nowadays. If you are reading this in the hope of finding a trustworthy solution for your data recovery, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Xytron handled my data recovery professionally from start to finish, arranged collection of my data from my home and recovered it all and returned it on a new hard drive. I had given my drive to another company in the Midlands to try and retreive the data for me. They were struggling to find the problem and the correct drive parts. When they had the drive for more than a week I called Xytron to ask if they would be able to help. They were very helpful and arranged for the drive to be collected the next day. My external hard drive had suffered a severe pcb failure due to a power surge. Xytron were recommended to me and were successful in retrieving all of my music files and more importantly 10 years of family photos. Although it wasn't a cheap service it was less than many others were asking and what price can you put on such treasured items? They were quick, professional, friendly and sincere.

I don't mean by rating Xytron 5 for value for money that their services come cheap, but for what they managed to do for me I can't fault them and consider it money very well spent: if what you need is your data back regardless of anything else these are the folks for you. I dropped my MacBook Pro from a considerable height onto concrete while fumbling with the new lock on the office in my back garden the other evening and thought I'd lost a job for a client I'd nearly finished and 9 months of work on a book of my own which has an imminent deadline with a publisher (later turned up my latest backup wasn't there on my spare HDD). Richard at Xytron promised great things both in terms of turnaround time and in his company's chances of recovering data and they delivered: everything I needed was recovered from a very damaged hard drive and was available for delivery sooner than initially promised. Absolute life-saver.

Our external hard drive had been sitting around, broke and helpless for nearly 2 years before we finally got around to getting it fixed. I contacted these guys for a quote and they were quick to respond. The price was reasonable and they collected the hard drive from me within days. The repair took a little longer than anticipated but it was still only a week and they delivered all of my data back to me on a brand new 1TB hard drive. The final cost was around £150 more than the original quote due to a piece needed for repair.

Good attentive service, with regular progress updates. Following a major mechanical hard disk failure Xytron recovered most of our data intact and all of the critical data in full. The original quote was quickly dwarfed by the actual cost, on further investigation of the extent of damage, but this was expected. All in all, good value for money and an excellent service.
