I have been very pleased indeed with Mercia Movers. The men arrived on time and worked very efficiently and well. They packed and moved my belongings with skill and were very pleasant to work with. They also quickly removed the flattened boxes when I had emptied them. They had been recommended to me by two friends and I would certainly recommend them again.

A truly wonderful experience working with Mercia Movers, from start to finish. Incredibly well organised and professional right from the initial phone to call to final delivery of our furniture and goods from Spain to the UK. We dealt with Simon, Debbie and Martin in the office, all of whom were super efficient. The removal men at both ends were polite, hard working and shining examples of how to do, what I would consider to be a very hard, taxing, complex job and, what is more, they all showed exceptional people skills. I have worked in logistics all over the world and I take my hat off to this company , an absolute pleasure from start to finish and to top it all .....all for a great price!!! The build up to the move was a really good and nice process. Indeed, this gave me the confidence to only accept the limited liability insurance.

Having read the 1 star reviews they ring a lot of simiiliarities with our experience...i am really sorry to say, because it didnt need to be like this. In response to mercia's reply - they're claim that things were damaged before is absolutely not true. The response to my review has made me even more upset.

i really hope that they look at what has happened and learn from it - i believe they are a good company at heart and this move just went really badly.

The actual moving in was extremely stressful and still is – nearly every box/item had an issue with it. The removal guys who dropped off our belongings were very nice and polite. They were embarrassed and apologetic for the state of everything.

It is very frustrating that much of the damage could have been avoided and was therefore not accidental in our view.
Nearly every piece of furniture is damaged – this was in the form of dents, breaking, scratches, stains - many of the marks are from sliding the furniture around in the van – there was no protection used to prevent this kind of damage. There are marks all over the sofa and armchair – this could have so easily been avoided with more care being taken with the packing – again some things were packed really well and other things really badly.
It took a few days to find the bits box – which had the name written on it but this had been taped over so you couldn’t read it – this meant we couldn’t put together our beds for a few days – indeed we had to do it ourselves instead of them being assembled for us, which we paid for.
From unpacking it was also very frustrating to see that items from the garage were very well packed and protected better than many of the fragile items from inside the house
Nearly every box had a “surprise” – the wrapping of the pasta jar with our yoga mat was unbelievable. Stuffing cushions inside lampshades….the list goes on.

Mercia refunded part of the packing - which i think shows they acknowledge mistakes were made and we did receive a small insurance payout

This company get five stars from us. They gave us an excellent service. The packing was professional. The lads who came were amazing. Can’t fault them. Don’t hesitate to book.

A professional, polite, careful and prompt service from start to finish. Exceptional care was taken with our belongings. We received A++ customer service from both Admin staff and the removal guys at both ends. Highly recommend for a stress free move to Spain.

I couldn't recommend Mercia Movers more highly. We moved from UK to France at the end of December and they were helpful, friendly and professional right from start to finish. The office team were informative and very responsive - even during out of office / holiday hours, which I didn't expect. The packers and deliverers went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. They were very helpful even though we have a chaotic household with three small children. Moving is stressful enough so it was reassuring to have such a fab team around us.

I will say that Mercia came out as on the higher end in terms of quotes, however after reading around and learning more about how some of the cheaper outfits operate, I found Mercia to be well worth the money.

This is really just completing the review of 16 October, which dealt with how our property was collected. Owing to some visa delays, we needed to store our stuff before it was shipped abroad. Simon made this easy and stress-free, and at a very affordable price. Once we were in a position to go ahead with the move, everything was done smoothly and efficiently, with no issues with Customs and no breakages. We were kept informed and everything was done on schedule. Like many others, I'd heard horror stories about international removals, but Mercia Movers literally couldn't have done anything better. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Imported via a container with Jessica organising the move. She gave us informative advice throughout the whole time and we could not have asked for a more helpful or easy experience because of the advice given. We would not hesitate in using the company again. Absolutely worth the 5* given and would give more if possible. If you need to move give this company a call because they are brilliant.

House Move

We recently moved house and chose to move with Mercia movers with NO regrets. The team that moved us were absolutely fantastic from Old House to New couldn'tve been more helpful!!! Would recommend this company to anybody!!! BIG thanks to making our move successful

We moved a load of furniture from Cardiff, UK to the French alps. The two movers were friendly and helpful and very clear with the process, and the support from the team back at the office (especially Kate!) who helped to organise everything was great. They all made a potentially tricky process much easier and clearer, would definitely recommend.

Moved home and also moved some bits into store with this company. Everything was picked up, wrapped and packed away in smart wooden boxes that were loaded onto their truck. Reasonably priced and pleasant staff, went over and beyond on the day too, would definitely recommend.

We used merciamovers to bring our household items from Madeira portugal to Merthyr Tydfil Wales. The firm was helpful from start to finish, the main person we dealt with was Kate Saunders she was faultless, many thanks to her. The driver who came to Wales was also vert helpful. Literally can not express how great the team were, from the staff in the office to the staff on the actual move, excellent service all round. Professional, friendly and excellent value for money. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Mercia have moved home for us twice and have provided us with an excellent service each time, for a very competitive cost. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Avoid using this company. Horrible experience. Last minute.com container driver was in a rush and packers left items behind which luckily went in our Air Cargo. Items reached our destination but multiple items were broken. So this company packs your items and shops them and works with another company at the destination. The reason for the broken items 10+ was poor handling - and who decides to work with who. Only 1 Star rating for this company and their service because the only thing they can do is get a container on a cargo vessel and get it to the destination. If you have valuable items you don’t want broken and a lane excuse of it’s not our fault - then don’t use this company.

Our experience of Mercia Movers was overwhelmingly positive. Uprooting from Carcassonne in SW France to Yorkshire proved to be an exhausting and stressful challenge but the part MM played was both reassuring and successful. They did exactly what it said on their tin. Communication was easy and responsive, with all the staff members we encountered but particularly Simon and Debbie. Timings were accurate as they did what they said they would do when they said they’d do it. Quite a feat given the distances involved. We have purchased a new build so needed the furniture delivery to tie up with our possession of the keys. It happened exactly on time. We have now unpacked the last of our boxes. Nothing at all was damaged or broken. Brilliant!
A very special mention has to be made of Andy and Brett and their two Colombian colleagues. Firstly, Andy manoeuvred their huge lorry down a very narrow French village road, turning onto our drive through 90 degrees and a narrow gateway. They then stripped our house in 24 hours in 40 degrees of August heat. They remained cheerful, polite and hardworking throughout.
We would heartily recommend Mercia Movers, without reservation and with great enthusiasm. Thank you for making our move home, to Yorkshire possible.

Attention to detail and care taken with our items was the best yet. Started early in the morning and finished late evening with no complaints. The weather was unbearable with the heat and they didn’t stop.
