Horrible company. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
We paid extra to have our stuff moved from Sweden to the uk directly with no shared transport. Almost everything we own was damaged, they used shared transport, they didn’t set up insurance properly or organise anything properly. They used no protective blankets etc which they said they would. They didn’t put anything in the rooms like they said they would. They sent two thug type men around to “assess the damage” and we ended up having to talk to the police because they were threatening and accused us of lying about damages. It’s about as bad a move as you could get.
They gave us a pitiful amount of money for the damages which was 60% less than that they said the insurance would give us. Just absolutely disgusting. Didn’t even email us with an apology or anything.
Typical company using small dodgy companies to do their moves cheaply for them. Avoid at all costs because you have no idea what you’ll end up with.

Regarding company reply: as per usual company reply is ridiculous. No company gives £750 in compensation when they have no reason to. So don’t pretend you’re saints. You offered a service and didn’t do that service as you said you would. You’re disputing the behaviour without actually having even answered a single call about what happened. You ignored my email regarding the behaviour as well. So that is just disgusting. I’ve been nothing but nice to all of you. I made coffee for the driver who threw my items into the pavement and over the wall of my front garden. And I was very understanding at all times on the phone. Even after I’d been made to feel scared in my own home. Who does that?! Who sends people to someone’s homes to yell at them and call them a lier. You’re absolutely taking the piss. So thank you for further proving my point. Not a single apology in your reply at all.

UPDATE: the company have come to me via email and telephone to ask if I will remove this post if they give me more compensation. At first they wanted me to update the post and then they wanted me to remove it all together. They sent me an agreement with a liability cause in it that I would have to pay them compensation. I refused to sign.
The compensation does not even cover the original estimate of damages they caused, it’s hundreds of £s off!

Beware to all people want to use this movers. All my stuff was been collected from our house in UK since 27th of February 2024 going to New Zealand till now we haven't receive our stuff its going to be six months this coming 27th of August.The main reason why it takes soo long is they stock our stuff in their warehouse for 3 months without knowing about. I have been in contact with them several times which is this company don't care at all. I dont recommend this company at all. Its a waste of time and money. Its disgusting. They are very good on talking to you when inquiring and having a quote but after it your like trowing your money and stuff away. I don't know what happened with all my stuff now as it’s a half of a year I havent seen them. You all out there think properly before using this company so avoid them at all cost….. They have replied me in the bottom why I have to leave another feedback as I did last four months ago Of course I need to as until now all my stuff not been receive. They have stated in there threatening with their staff of what???verbally saying to slap your face as all of you were playing me around passing over to different person and telling me they will call me back or wait and I did use a long distance call from New Zealand and you're just playing me around until I new all my stuff still not been ship you have keep it for 3 months without informing me. How was that especially Martin tells you all a lie. Are you afraid that people knows about the service of your company and how you treated a customer?????

Had great expectations for this company having read some brilliant reviews, but have been left with an extra £800 invoice which wouldn't have happened if the company were more thorough with inventories upon collecting goods.

From first contact with Simon you felt reassured that this was a company that would deliver in your requirements.
Shipping, paperwork, import duties and everything else was sorted by Debbie who was truly outstanding in organising everything. My house contents were delivered on time and undamaged which is ultimately the result you want, but their manner made the whole process friendly and easy. Would highly recommend.

I understand that everyone's experience is different, but I had such a great experience with Mercia Movers and could not recommend them highly enough. They were communicative throughout and reassured me every step of the way. I was understandably a bit nervous; waving goodbye to your belongings and not having any control after that is daunting, but there were absolutely no issues. Got to Portugal from the UK 13 days later, husband received with no drama and now I'm on my way too.

Mercia used Algarve Removals, who again, I rate very highly. The guys who came to collect offered to wrap more fragile items in blankets for me. I offered to help but they did everything without me and it took less than 2 hours.

Both very friendly companies and very professional. I could not fault the quote I received for 4 cubic metres, including some fragile bits. Would definitely use again!

My goods were delayed for a couple of weeks as the port authorities struggled to get access to the vessel. I was absolutely going out of my mind with worry.

Yesterday, my goods arrived, and thanks to the packing, and crating of the items I am delighted to see everything has made it - there is a broken glass and plate but considering the volume and events with the weather this is an unbelievable result!

I am now sitting on my favourite 3 piece Sofa again and looking at the amazing views of the harbour. Thank you Debbie, Martin and Kate - love to you all xx.

Total lack of transparency about the moving costs. Ended up paying 60% more than the Mercia Movers quote in port charges. They do not disclose that there could be significant variable port charges and that are not covered in the contract. If you move with them you will not know how much it will end up costing your move.

Great experience with Mercia with an emergency move from London to the Netherlands that was arranged and completed within a week.

Kate from Mercia is a superstar and sorted everything out without any fuzz. Communicated effectively, kept it simple for us, and was always there to support without hesitation.

The whole process literally took just a few days of back and forth to align on what should be moved, when things could happen, and the logistics of timings.

In my opinion, great value for money. Yes you can find other companies that might seem to offer a more attractive quote, but often it just looks like a way to engage you and get buy in. Mercia just kept it to the facts and filled me with confidence that paying the right amount means you can expect the move to be dealt with professionally.

Can't flaw them with anything really - they sorted us out and nothing went wrong.

Always communicative and helpful, even around painful post-Brexit rules. The team was professional and delivered all items intact. Would use them again in the future.

We had a few false starts with our house purchase in France, but staff at Mercia Movers maintained contact with us until we were ready to send our furniture. We were helped along the way by friendly office staff and the both the drivers who collected and delivered were pleasant and efficient. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Moving is so stressful but Mercia removals made it less so. They turned up on time, everything was loaded carefully & quickly. Arrived at our new house without any delays, unloaded contents efficiently.
Whole process was done with care from start to finish. Staff are friendly & helpful. Also reasonably priced.
If you're moving we would 100% recommend Mercia Movers.

Arrived on time. Pleasant, polite and respectful of our property. Packed our furniture with care, as we had requested. Would not hesitate to recommend Mercia Movers.

We used Mercia Movers for our move from London to Porto, Portugal. The office staff were very helpful with our queries, and the process of getting all the paperwork correct beforehand was made easy by their oversight. The guys who came to pick up the goods were very professional. We met the team in Portugal (we flew over), and they unloaded the goods. Nothing was broken or damaged.
Overall every step of the move was handled really well by Mercia Movers. I would definitely recommend them. I did a lot of research beforehand, got a lot of quotes, and I'm very happy I chose Mercia Movers for our move
