Mike and Tom, the packers and loaders, were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were incredibly polite, professional, and took great care with all of my belongings. Their attention to detail was remarkable, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about ensuring everything was packed securely and handled with the utmost care.

I recently used Mercia Movers to move my furniture from the UK to California in January, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the service was exceptional, and the entire process was seamless and stress-free.

Recently moved to Norway from the UK. Mercia Movers were fantastic at every stage of the removal and were most helpful with all my questions. They sent me all the appropriate documents to complete to ensure a smooth transfer through both European border control as well as Norwegian customs authorities. They were prompt when it came to my removal day and handled all my belongings with care, ensuring to bundle all of my removals together in a tight wrapped shipment so nothing got lost enroute. All my belongings arrived in good condition without any damage. They were always quick to respond if I had any queries regarding the move and saved me a lot of extra stress with their expertise. I would highly recommend them for use.

I moved from the UK to Spain with Mercia. From the moment the team arrived I felt very confident with the team. They took the utmost care with all my possessions and took real care with making a crate for my 75 inch TV and looking after my family photographs Everything was packed like a military operation. The team arrived on time and were friendly. Delivery was made and the team put everything where I asked them in my new home. Nothing at all was too much trouble and a special mention to crew member Michael who was fantastic. I would recommend Mercia to anyone looking at moving internationally, the whole process was easy and stress free!

I moved with Mercia and must say from the first interaction they were amazing.
They took me through so many options to try and keep the budget as low as possible for me it was fantastic - you don't get this kind of service any more from most places, customer service these days doesn't seem to exist in this world any more with all automated calling lines press 1... press 7.. take it or leave it kind of attitude, but I will say it was such a breath of fresh air hearing how experienced my move manager Martin was. He gave me options with just a driver, a driver with a porter and additional crew members if required.
He also explained to me that if I pack my own things then they could not add extra cover for peace of mind for "owner packaged" things so as I am not that good at packing up, I took the full packing service and NOT A SINGLE ITEM was damaged - the care an attention their crew took was second to none and made me feel reassured throughout the whole thing - nothing was too much trouble and their guys were so friendly we had a good chuckle.
They also explained the different types of service, some slower but cheaper and you have to be flexible but some which were quick / direct and more expensive - I was flexible so took the cheaper option which was called a part load so if you can be flexible in this way then you will save a lot of money!
They even suggested that they made a case for my 75" TV (wooden) which made sure that it arrived in good condition - (Good suggestion Martin :) )
If you are old (like me) then go for the full service option (door to door) as they do virtually everything for you.
Thank you Martin for making an old lady very happy - you are a credit to your company and they need to know this! If you are ever in the area, pop in for a cup of tea and some cake, it really would be a pleasure to see you again.

My experience with this company was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. We provided a thoroughly detailed inventory for our move, including irregularly shaped items and a request for 10 boxes. Despite this, they grossly underestimated the volume and admitted to forgetting to include the entirety of the boxes in the quote, resulting in a massive, unjustified extra charge.

On moving day, the third-party movers were shocked at the amount of items, as the items on list they received didn't match what we had provided. Despite having paid Mercia an additional fee to insure our large TV, the third-party movers said they had no record of a TV even being included in the shipment.

Mercia Movers then held our belongings hostage until we paid an additional fee of over £1500. We had no choice but to comply under duress.

Additionally, Mercia Movers then failed to notify us that our delivery would be significantly delayed (leaving me to sleep on the floor for two weeks at 36 weeks pregnant).

Their communication throughout the process was dismissive and unprofessional. They blamed us for their mistakes and refused to acknowledge their misleading quote.

Avoid Mercia Movers at all costs. Their unethical practices, inaccurate quotes, and appalling customer service made this one of the most stressful experiences we've ever had.

I requested a quote for an international shipment with the stipulation that it was a door to door service. I received a quote from Ed Removals acting as Mercia Movers, which said it was for door to door service but once I confirmed that I paid the money I was asked to provide details of the consignee who would take care of the shipment at the receiving end. I queried this and was told that the shipment was to port only. As the quote stipulated it was for door to door I presumed that the port only part meant separate company would take care of the final delivery part as part of the door to door service. I then started to receive further quotes for an additional £1000, which I hadn't asked for. I wrote to cancel the shipment and again received another quote. I wrote again with a screenshot of the original quote stating it was for a door to door service and received a call from the accounts department. They tried to convince me that they could not offer a full refund as they had to use shipping companies (which had not been paid for nor confirmed and were an agreement between Mercia and the shipping company, not me). I reiterated that the mistakes were not mine and I wanted a full refund. I was not told that I would get a full refund and the call ended withe accounts department simply saying, 'OK'. I explained that I had also found another company (Yamato) who could do the shipment by air (taking two weeks) for less than they were asking for a sea shipment taking three months. I was asked how much Yamato were charging but I declined to tell them as it is none of their business. I then called my bank and found that there had actually been an error with the payment which the bank could not explain and it had not gone through anyway. That's a bit of luck on my part I think. Read all of your documents very carefully, ask questions before parting with any money and maybe go with companies that you have happily used in the past.

I would like to say a big thank you to mercia movers for my recent move to Spain. We had the full packing service as we had no time to organise anything and the crew came in on the day and packed everything brilliantly. All arrived in perfect condition and also the customs clearance was all done - thank you Mercia !!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Used Mercia Movers for our move to West Wales yesterday. Prompt, professional and friendly service. We're outside the area now, but would definitely use them again if we were moving in the area again!

From the start of the process - quotation to final delivery - we felt confident that we were in good hands and Mercia Movers knew what they were doing. And the price was very competitive too! Having sorted all the customs paperwork for us in advance, they collected our stuff when they said they would and then stored it for about two months until we were ready to go and then delivered our stuff with a smile when they said they would. We cannot fault the service and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone moving to the continent. Thank you Mercia Movers and keep up the good work.

A Company to Avoid!
Entrusted with our relocation from the UK to Spain—a two-year process involving multiple stages of delivery and storage—we ended up spending over £11,000. For that price, we expected competence, reliability, and respect for our belongings…
From the beginning, they mixed up things meant for storage with those for delivery. Items that were supposed to be delivered to our temporary accommodation while we built our house somehow ended up in storage—and vice versa. We were assured everything was being tracked and would tally up in the end.
When the final delivery, came we discovered that a piece of furniture they claimed was safely stored had actually been lost. Yes, Mercia Movers, the so-called “professionals,” actually lost a piece of our furniture.
The one-star review, however, isn’t for incompetence but for their shockingly dismissive attitude when we reported the issue seeking an amicable resolution. Instead of taking responsibility, Mercia Movers had the audacity to blame us, saying we “should have formally declared a loss” immediately, despite having reported concerns to their operatives at each stage. They then had the nerve to imply that the loss was somehow our fault for not taking out additional insurance! No apology, no empathy and certainly no suggestion of compensation. They clearly don’t care about customers or the responsibility that comes with their high fees.
It’s obvious they bank on the fact that people rarely need the same movers twice. Once they’ve pocketed your money, they’ll drop you without a second thought. Save yourself the stress, the financial strain, and the heartache of lost possessions. I deeply regret not taking heed of the many negative reviews that warned us about this company. Mercia Movers is, in a word, disgraceful. Avoid.

We moved from France to UK , Customers Service was brilliant ( Deddie & Martin ) were great and kept us updated on the whole move .the removals team were very professional at picking and dropping off our house whole goods etc , the whole experience was less stressful than we thought and it all ran very smoothly again a big Thankyou...

Brilliant company, moved me and my family recently just a couple of miles down the road but they did a fantastic job, would definitely recommend

I used these guys to move from Southampton to Tamworth and they did a wonderful job and made what is usually a very stressful experience much easier for which I cannot thank them enough
