The movers worked in a rush and mislabeled part of the boxes.
As a result, when a box got lost, the company refused to acknowledge that some of the items (that appear on the list of insured items) got actually lost and started "resisting".
As a result, I have a damaged table, a lost Playstation and lost Xmas decorations and no reimbursements.
Going to lawyer up.

Efficient, friendly polite service. Everyone went the extra mile for us. Our move was certainky not easy, but these guys took the stress away the minute we started the process. As hubby said at the end of the day, we could not have done this without them guys.

I am currently using these guys to move from London to Brussels and though their movers are great, the management of this company and customer relationship management is WOEFUL. They aren’t letting us choose when and hwere we get our stuff delivered and have 0 communication. They are the worst and would not recommend them to ANYONE!!

Moving teams from the US and those here in the UK receiving our shipment were great. Teams of 7 helped pack and load in the US and just three helped unload into storage within 4 hours. Shipment arrived on time and everyone was both professional and courteous. We'd recommend them for country to country moves. Only suggestion would be to calculate the storage space you need yourself and not rely on relocation company as we needed more space than advised. Everything arrived safely and in a timely manner which was most important.

Made my moving process really easy for me! Kate was brilliant and answered any questions I had really efficiently.

The team in Tenerife were excellent. They were on time, very thorough with packing and professional throughout. We highly recommend them. Our furniture arrived back in the UK safely, very pleased with the service.

From the very first call I received an outstanding service, value and communication in a fairly complex move from a remote Italian village 50% to central Madrid and the balance to central London.

The price was extremely competitive, the form-filling pretty easy and intuitive, communication was always excellent and the collection/delivery days/times kept throughout.

I had 'odd shapes' with large pictures, floor lamps and huge ceramic jars which all arrived safely and were handled with such care

I used Merciamovers a few years ago moving from Brussels and received the same excellent service - I remember them wrapping a delicate dismantled wardrobe in blankets and to my amazement it arrived intact, not a scratch with all the bolts/screws as it went out !

Delivery dates were staged as we couldn't be in Madrid and London at the same. Local language was spoken at each pick-up/delivery point - really I couldn't fault anything .....

I am not given to reviews but strongly recommend Merciamovers as a totally professional organisation that you won't regret employing !

Small office move from London to New York - all went fine and a pleasure to deal with the Mercia Movers team.

We looked online for a box only moving service and came across Mercia movers, from the first call they provided a quotation and answered all our questions - the booking process was simple.

My goods arrived in good order, slight delay at customs but all was resolved by Michelle our co-ordinator for the move.

I opted for a Shared container service from London to Syndey around 10meters worth of furniture and boxes - the office staff provided a very transparent all inclusive quotation that was reasonable compared to other companies. Overall very happy with the service and would use Mercia again.

Our boxes arrived in good condition, transit time was 7 weeks door to door. Fantastic service.

They were wonderful from start to finish of our goods to Canada.
Kate was so very helpful and made everything really easy for us.
The team that came to pack our goods were very respectful and friendly and kept asking us if they had packed each of our items carefully and to our satisfaction.
The cost was reasonable compared to other companies and we would recommend Mercia Movers to anyone needing transportation of goods.

Kate and the team of movers I dealt with were all very friendly and helpful and everyone turned up on time. Communication was really good through the whole process and I would recommend them for international moves to make the process much easier.

From the moment the crew of Dave and Lee arrived I felt at ease, and they helped massively in dismantling our complex large Dining Table and did a great job of crating the glass table top, which I am delighted to say arrived in the same condition here in New York thanks to the crate that they recommended. Overall a brilliant service and I will certainly be using them again if the need arises.

Chris and Martin made the whole process incredibly smooth. From quoting our move and communications throughout right up to move day. On the day the lads were brilliant and so efficient making light work of packing and unpacking us. Absolute pleasure to have used Mercia Movers!

After posting a review of the unscrupulous and underhanded practices of Mercia Movers (below), Mercia filed a complaint with Trustpilot, alleging that my review was defamatory. Trustpilot assessed the content of my review and determined that it is not defamatory.

"Your review of Mercia Movers was flagged by the business for containing defamatory content. We’ve assessed the content flagged and determined that it’s not defamatory. Therefore, we’ve put your review back online."

Undeterred, Mercia then wrote to me and alleged (falsely) that my review was libelous and threatened to withhold the agreed compensation for the items they damaged (which is illegal) unless I removed it.

I believe potential customers should be warned that, if you dare to warn others about the unscrupulous business practices of Mercia Movers, they will respond with illegal threats.

We contracted Mercia Movers to transport our possessions from Bournemouth UK to Nice in the south of France.

While initial contacts appeared to be competent and professional, once we had paid the quoted fee, Mercia Movers unscrupulously and excessively increased incidental charges to inflate their profit:

• Mercia unscrupulously inflated the cost of securing a parking permit for the delivery of our goods from €33 (the standard charge imposed by the municipality of Nice) to £250 – an increase of 900%. Despite providing evidence that Nice charges €33 for a parking permit, Mercia continued to falsely claim that “the Parking Permit was not €33.00 in the slightest”.

• Mercia falsely claimed that their truck could not be parked on the street in front of the building, making it necessary to rent a small 20 cubic metre truck to deliver our goods to our new address – and then inflated the cost of renting this truck from €130 (based on the fees charged by the three largest local agencies) to £575 – an increase of 440%.

• Mercia announced both of these charges less than a week before our move – meaning that, had we refused to pay these charges, our impending move would have been thrown into chaos.

On delivery, we discovered that a substantial number of the boxes (strong, double walled cartons, purchased – as recommended by Mercia – from a recommended supplier and packed in accordance with Mercia’s packing guide) were crushed into accordions whose sides resembled the letter W turned sideways. As a result, several family heirlooms were broken into pieces.

It seems that, once out of sight of the customer, Mercia’s warehouse staff throw and drop boxes with no regard for their potentially fragile contents, regardless of how securely packed or clearly labelled. These same goods had previously been shipped four times (from Toronto to Nice, from Nice to Chester, from Chester to Bournemouth, and from one address in Bournemouth to another) all without breakages – but they did not survive contact with Mercia’s warehouse staff.

Finally, having paid hundreds of pounds (we thought) to insure our goods, in response to the inevitable claim for damages, we were informed that “you have not purchased Insurance or an Insurance product” and so the Terms & Conditions of compensation are not subject to the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority. This allowed the compensation to be only a small fraction of the value of the damaged goods.

I had originally been encouraged by the appearance of the Checkatrade logo on Mercia’s website. In response to my letter to Checkatrade, they replied that “This company are no longer members of Checkatrade, [but] due to GDPR regulations, we are unable to give the reason as to why”.

I contacted the Removals Ombudsman who replied that “the removals business you complain of is not, and never has been, a member of The Removals Industry Ombudsman Scheme (RIOS)".

If you choose to use this company, be prepared for some sharp practices and damaged goods.

I would recommend you spend a little bit more on a better company. I have been misled from the beginning. I am still awaiting my furniture even though it left my home in February. When questioned on the timeframes they just said that was an estimate. So almost 5 months without furniture for what was supposed to be 12-14 weeks. In my opinion The company have been obnoxious in their communications since they received payment. three packers were due to turn up only two arrived. I didn’t send everything over i was quoted for and did not receive a refund for this, I feel if I had gone over my allowed allowance the bill for me to pay would have arrived. I had to pay in the destination country, apparently it was in the small print, however when this was emailed to me the price was higher in the destination country. I feel they couldn’t care less about the customer and make this abundantly clear in their actions. I would avoid this company and would never recommend. Still awaiting my furniture so god knows what state this will arrive and will review when I receive my goods.
