I recommend Heylo

I owned a shared ownership property with Heylo.
It was great way for me to get on the property ladder, the rent was always fair and increases did occur but always seemed reasonable.
I've recently bought 100% of my home Heylo have been really helpful throughout and have nothing but praise for Ewa. Thank you for your assistance.

Anyone thinking of buying a shared ownership home I would recommend Heylo, just make sure you do your research and understand if this is the right decision for you.

Awaid, as this private company have higher expenses, particularly in terms of rent and selling expenses. If you are considering share ownership, I recommend a local not-for-profit housing association, such as Curo or Westlive, as they offer more favourable terms.
If you think I'm going to pay a premium for a couple of years just to get on the property ladder, only to sell or buy off later, you're mistaken. No one is going to pay full price for a flat in a social housing block, and the selling process is an expensive nightmare.

Natasha from Heylo was my light in the dark!

Selling my flat was an absolute nightmare, largely down to the solicitors (including Heylo's, I'd strongly recommend they change who they're working with) but the moment Natasha Marsden got involved everything felt so much more hopeful. She was extremely informed (much more than my solicitor) and could explain complicated legal things to me which had taken up weeks of my time figuring out! Not only that but she spoke to me with real empathy, which at that point I had seriously lacked throughout the whole process and it made the world of difference. She's an absolute asset to Heylo and they'd be wasting an opportunity not putting her in some sort of mentoring role so she can share her knowledge and customer service skills with whatever team she's in! She also deserves a raise, she absolutely rescued my opinion of Heylo.

Thanks again Natasha, I don't think I'd have made it through without you! (Sane, at least)

Easy sale, and great way to get on the ladder!

We bought a shared ownership house with Heylo in 2020 and have just sold and completed on the 30th of May 2025. I couldn't recommend Heylo more. The rent increases over the years were reasonable and they're always quick to respond if we had any questions along the way. The legal team and process through the sale was easy and communication was efficient. Thank you for getting us on the housing ladder! A special thank you to Ewa Skrzynska who was always pleasant, happy to help and quick to respond.

Very disappointing experience

I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Heylo Housing. As a shared owner (they own 50% of my property), I contacted them for assistance obtaining the management pack for my home. Instead of taking responsibility, they referred me to Remus, their appointed management company — who then informed me they haven’t even taken over management of the property. Heylo then suggested I contact the developer, even though the house is three years old and Heylo is the landlord.

This constant deflection between parties has not only wasted my time but is now causing me financial distress. I cannot proceed with important matters relating to my property due to the absence of the management pack, and no one at Heylo seems willing to take ownership of the issue.

It’s extremely disappointing to see such a lack of accountability from a company that promotes itself as a responsible shared ownership provider. I expected better support from my landlord, especially in circumstances where their inaction is causing real financial impact.

Would not recommend based on my experience.

A selfless helper.

Those who made the company are the workers and Rachel stands out as a mother figure. She does her due diligence as per the company's regulations but also exhibit a human love for her customers. She is humble and does not want her customers to fail. She really listens both during her official hours and on off days. She will be the first to get back to you whenever you think you have been forgotten. She is a selfless helper, and that attributes are rear. Please keep these attributes on for God is your redeemer, and He shall be there for you at your time of needs. God bless you. Amen

Incredible Support and the best service

I am beyond grateful for the support and help that Heylo have provided over the last few years. Without Rachel Baker and Ewa Skrzynska I honestly don't know where we would be.

After buying our first home with Heylo a few years ago to selling and buying another Heylo property.

Their support, service, effort and will to help me at every turn has been unmatched. It has always felt that they would go the extra mile to ensure the best outcome for me.

Excellent Service!

We are so grateful to Heylo for being so supportive during our process of buying the remaining shares on our shared ownership house. With the help of Natasha, the process was a great experience. She was very helpful, answering our questions quickly though the emails and phone calls and she definitely went an extra mile when we struggled to get a right mortgage matching the house valuation. Fantastic helpful employees.

Heylo made the stress of moving home more manageable. Without the help of Ewan I think we may well of pulled out of the purchase due to poor effort and communication from the solicitors. Ewan was always just an email away and his helpfulness with responses were immediate. He was proactive in getting this sale over the line eventually and we can't thank him enough.

Went the extra mile after an initial mistake.

To be very honest, it’s rather hard to rate Heylo, because we’ve had such little contact with them during the process of our purchase of our Shared Ownership Home. Everything was done through our solicitors.
We initially received the lease details containing the rent, etc, then a few days before exchange Heylo sent our solicitors an amended lease with a reduction in rent payment, even our own solicitor made the comment that that was extremely good news to receive the reduction. Then the day before completion our solicitor wrote to us telling us that Heylo had made a huge mistake and the reduced rent was incorrect and they informed us that the original lease now stood. Talk about not knowing what one is doing, so our rent is now back to what is was when we were originally contacted by Heylo. Other than that, it’s impossible to comment on Heylo, we’ve had only one email with a name on the bottom that being from Marlon Pearson ATP, when we completed on the 24th March.
However, what I will add though is that myself and my husband are sincerely grateful that Heylo accepted us for the Shared Ownership scheme, because we are over the moon with the Gleeson house that we managed to purchase at 50% of the original purchase price.
Having since written this review, we were contacted by Ewan Keenan, Senior Sales Progression Executive of Heylo Housing, I would like to add that Heylo have sincerely apologised for the errors that were made concerning our lease arrangements just before we completed on our purchase and gave us an explanation as to the reason why it happened, which myself and my husband accepted. As a good will gesture, we were offered a complimentary gift which we gladly accepted. On this basis, because Heylo has gone above and beyond our expectations, we are happy to reward them with an amended review of 5 stars.

Heylo have been really good throughout…

Heylo have been really good throughout the process of buying our shared ownership house. They supported us through the application, chased our solicitors when we were waiting for additional paperwork to be finished and kept us informed of everything happening. As first time buyers it was a daunting process and the heylo team especially Ewan, helped us through the whole process, answering any questions we had promptly.
