Great service , battery fitted on drive , came at allocated time , friendly technician

Really poor service.
Booked a front and rear dashcam installation. Fitters installed front camera without asking where I wanted it (out of view behind the rear view mirror) the rear camera had a huge loop of wire dangling down, which looked awful.
However, even worse was the lack of care when working on a customers vehicle, dirty finger marks all over the headlining, which they used some spray solvent to clean off when I mentioned it, only one was wearing gloves, and they got in my vehicle wearing a filthy work coat.
Told them to remove the dashcam, and I immediately contacted customer services and requested a refund.
I have had to clean their mess up and fix the glovebox they left inoperative
Will not use Halfords again, and would recommend going elsewhere for anything requiring any care and attention.
Poor sevice, even poorer standards.

I had a mobile tyre fitted by Halfords in May 2025.

Several months later, I identified a slow air leak from the bead area (between the tyre and rim). There is no damage to the alloy wheel, no kerbing, and no puncture.

I raised this with Halfords, however the complaint was declined on the basis that more than 30 days had passed since fitting. They also stated that it is “not technically possible” for a fitting-related sealing issue to present after this period.

From my perspective, this does not reflect a reasonable assessment of the issue. A slow bead leak can take time to become noticeable, and I would expect a correctly fitted tyre to maintain an airtight seal beyond a short warranty window.

Disappointing response and unwillingness to investigate what appears to be a workmanship-related issue.

Everything was OK-ish, other than the rather fundamental point that they didn't turn up on the day the fitting had been booked, with no warning or notification. The online chat was useless to sort out the problem as no agent was ever available, although TBF the call centre operator I eventually managed to speak to was very good in arranging a new appointment. At the 2nd attempt there was no advance call from the fitter, and my car was left in a mess from lubricant smeared over the paintwork, but at least I did finally end up with a couple of tyres fitted, at a reasonable price.

Very easy to resolve. Make one phone call and everything is set up for the mobile team to visit within a two hour slot.

The mobile tyre fitting service is excellent. Booked online and got a good time. Professional service and friendly. Would recommend.

Easy to choose my tyres and easy to book. Good communication from Halfords and very efficient work.

The staff it was very professional, approachable and generally they have done a good job. However, they left the tyres with different pressures, one of them had 5. And when booked the pressure balance and valves were included in the price.

Battery swapping staff are not able to fulfil the promise on the website:.This what is says: The number one reason for getting your car battery professionally fitted is that in most start-stop cars, a new battery will need to be paired with the car’s onboard computer before it will work properly. This requires the use of an iMAT tool, which is a special piece of equipment that you’re not likely to have to hand.
Also, if your new car battery hasn’t been paired correctly with your onboard computer, then you run the risk of the start-stop function not working at all, increased emissions, greater fuel consumption and non-critical vehicle systems shutting down.

Why does Halfords Mobile Expert have two profiles on TrustPilot? One profile with a decent rating and the other with a poor rating?

I bought two tyres in September 2025, and recently I noticed one of those tyres has a bulge the size of a golf ball in the wall of the tyre that is growing from inside out.

There is no damage to the tyre wall or tread.

Today a mobile fitting technician was sent out to inspect the tyre who told me it has clearly failed due to a fault, but when he phoned through to his hub, he was told it has not failed and that it is the result of a pothole despite there being no external damage and the other three tyres being completely unaffected.

I have taken the tyre to an independent garage who has told me the tyre structure has failed and that this is not the result of a pothole.

Today I raised a complaint with someone in Africa, only to be told I would have to wait 7 days for a response because there are no managers on the floor. When I asked how the company is run with no managers, he said there is a manager on lunch and that when he gets back he will be very busy dealing with his other work, which obviously makes me feel as though Halfords are not taking this seriously.

Had two tyres fitted couple of weeks ago at my house which was great but I had a vibration on the steering wheel. Halfords arranged a two hour slot today Saturday and Karl and a colleague came to our house and rebalanced the tyres. Excellent again and hopefully all sorted. Tops marks Karl and colleague.

Online booking was efficient with recommended battery appearing when I typed in my registration. There was a lot of availability including next day. It is very convenient to have batteries and tyres replaced where you are. The technician was knowledgeable and efficient. He remembered lots of details of his previous visit years ago and gave lots of helpful advice. The job was done extremely well.
