Have got the MOT at the end of the month and having just had a hip replacement, I was unable to get the car serviced as I would normally do. Found this to be a fantastic service that took a lot of the worry and angst away from getting the car serviced and checked before the MOT.

Cancelled less than 24 hours before they were due with no explanation. Leaving me in real difficulty The diagnostic was done on the 28th July. They arranged the repair for the 4th August. I received an email on the 3rd and a text message confirmation. This was followed by a voice mail also on the 3rd cancelling with no reason and less than 24 hours before they were due. It is ironic that had I been the one to cancel with less than 24 hours notice I would have incurred a cost. When I rang them they told me the car had to go to a garage. It would not have taken nearly a week to find that out. They could have advised much earlier and should not have told me they could do it in the first place. I now have no transport for another week which places me in difficulty. I told the mechanic at the time that it was urgent.

The mechanic was very friendly, efficient and helpful. Lovely guy!

Grant is an experienced engineer and has done the full service for my Toyota. He spent almost 2 hours in front of my house under the hot sun. I am sure it was tough job.

After the service, my overall driving experience has been improved. Car running is smooth and nice.

The advantage is RAC engineer brings the garage to your house. Disadvantage is the engineer lack of second person support.

I suggest below to improve this service to both RAC and their customer.
1. RAC engineer needs a job list to tick, what has been done. Sign and give to customers. So customer will know the engineer has done the job as the same as the RAC web listed.
2. RAC van required a big shade to extend to cover the serving car under the hot sun or rain when the engineer is working. I saw AutoGlass van has this extend large shade when the engineer is working.
