Disappointed at increase at 60
Like others commenting on here, I'm disappointed my annual policy premium has gone up so much (50%) at age 60. I've bought annual policies for years with Columbus. I was allegedly given 30% discount but that was not clearly shown on policy papers or online when paying. I noted a man had said his policy escalated at 65 in these comments. But Columbus still worked out better policy than other providers on cover & cost. Others don't allow 60 day upgrade. And others have now moved Tunisian to rest of world. Was always covered in Europe policy. Beware some providers make it very hard to see this change, and ironically seem to think Syria is now safer than Tunisia. Columbus still provides Tunisia under the Europe policy.

These prices are set by the underwriters and are based on general claims data that indicates the tiered pricing is needed for the risk from higher age groups. As you've found, the product still represents good value as most companies will have a similar approach to travel insurance pricing.
Helpful and efficient
I spoke to customer service about renewing my insurance policy with some additional health conditions. The process was easy and my policy was emailed immediately after payment. The price still remains competitive.
