Having used Brightpearl for the last 9…

Having used Brightpearl for the last 9 years the system simply does what it "says on the tin" - the support team have always been quick to respond and resolve any issues raised.

SAAS fueled by greed

Left BrightPearl after being clients for 5 years. The level of disrespect we received from the sales team was unprecedented. Cocky, rude, unethical. There is a bad vibe in that company and it's run like a "boiler room".

Unambitious and greedy company

I have been with Brightpearl for about 5 years but am leaving. At long last. I tried to leave last year but they were very unaccommodating and I was forced to continue for another year as they wouldn't offer a short contract (3 months) to allow me to start with the new software at the beginning of my financial year. I was initially attracted to Brightpearl because it had accounting built in, but that turns out to have been a big mistake as there are other companies with more marketplace integrations and much more functionalty that have integrations with accounting software that simply exports all the necessary data into relatively low cost accounting software such as Xero or Quickbooks or Sage. About the only thing that Brightpearl seem to have been interested in is getting more money out of their customers. When I signed up they adverised Brightpearl as the software to automate your online selling. But it didn't really do that. A couple of years later at considerable extra cost they released an add on app called Brightpearl Automation that does seem to deliver on automation. However other software offers that at no extra cost. Brightpearl also claimed that you could list directly onto eBay but it turned out that you couldn't because Brightpearl didn't support eBay's postage policies which is the easiest way to define shipping costs on eBay. FIve years on you can't list directly onto any marketplace from Brightpearl. Brightpearl claim that it integrates with Amazon, but this is only partially true as they have completely ignored the new marketplaces that Amazon have opened. This just seems like unbelievable laziness as other software has integrated with all of them, as well as other marketplaces for which Brightpearl has no integration. Brightpearl is just about to add OnBuy which once again comes at extra cost, though other software does not charge extra for this integration. And why would they chose OnBuy, people who do sell there tell me that it generates very few orders. The software that I am moving to, who's regular price is just over 50% of the normal cost of Brightpearl, also offers direct listing to all the marketplaces that it covers, and for European markets where you don't speak the language and can't do the translations yourself, Google Translate Professional is integrated with the software so you can list on at least 5 more marketplaces than you can with Brightpearl without having to leave the software (you can't do that with Brightpearl). And they are looking at adding more marketplaces in the future without the extra costs charged by Brightpearl. Now that I am finally leaving it was suggested that I might benefit from read only access so that we could easily double check things like warranty claims. They offered me a years read only access for £10,080 which is more than double my yearly contract for full use of the software. Now, if that isn't taking the mickey, I don't know what is!!!
Something I forgot: Brightpearl doesn't calculate VAT correctly. If you get an order from the Channel Islands, Brightpearl will add 20% VAT even though there is no VAT in th Channel Islands. (it does the same with the Canary Islands which also are not subject to VAT. It would be simply to write a filter to catch these and put correct 0 VAT on them, but they just don't seem to care if their customers are paying the tax men a bit more than they should be.
With all these negatives comes one good area. Support, who are very good and responsive. Shame they don't run the company.

Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry that it's not more positive, however.

There are a few subjects you've raised so I'll respond to them individually:

Notice. We prefer longer contracts - it reduces our admin cost for maintaining them, which we in turn pass on to our customers. However we are open to discussing shorter contracts, that said, our ability to offer these depend on factors such as notice period given and throughput of the system during the shorter window being discussed.

Functionality. We appreciate that not one size fits all, so to that end, we have recently expanded our range of apps which integrate to Brightpearl from a variety of providers covering accounting, listing, and more. It's a shame you've now found an alternative to us as one of these I'm sure would meet your requirements. On your comment regarding Amazon marketplaces, you haven't specified which, but have you raised this request with your success team? They work closely with our product and engineering teams and use customer demand as a strong measure when building our our roadmap.

Read access to your account. Read access to your account. The price for read only access you were quoted is significantly less than the figure you've quoted. I'm not sure if it is a typo on your end or a mis-reading to you on your end? We would never charge more than the full cost for read only access. I agree, that would be unfair, fortunately that's not what we would do.

Our Support team. I'm very pleased you have great things to say about our Support team, I'll ask them if how they would feel about running the company, however I can almost guarantee that they'll prefer to stay where they are - delivering great and timely service to our customers! :)

Again, I'm sorry we couldn't work this out. I know our Senior Director has been attempting to work through these issues with you, but as it's now apparent that you've moved on to pastures new, it won't be possible.

Just transitioned to Brighpearl...

When our order management platform Stitchlabs announced they were being bought (by Square I think?) last year, and announced they'd be sunsetting the Stitchlabs platform sometime around mid-2021, we tried to take advantage of being forced to find a new platform.

Our company in many ways had already outgrown Stitchlabs, and the market for replacements felt like there were only 1:1 replacements, or the option to jump to a full ERP platform (Salesforce, Netsuite, etc). Unless your team is large enough to dedicate a team to the launch & management of an ERP platform it's an unrealistic project to take on.

Enter Brightpearl. In many ways Brightpearl hits the sweet spot in between the features/functionality of platforms like Stitclabs/Cin7 and ERP systems without requiring the substantial investment of time and people dedicated to the implementation and ongoing management of the platform.

Having just been migrated over to Brightpearl a few weeks ago I have to say the overall experience has been great. They're extremely thorough in identifying your specific business needs, making sure the platform will meet all of those needs, and tailoring your implementation and training around them as well. For switching out a central system that needs to integrate with practically every other platform our business uses, the migration to Brightpearl was about as seamless as one could ask for. The Project Manager, Training Manager, and integrations team are all dedicated, responsive, and expect the same of you.

Bottom line: everything has been great so far, and whether or not you are just lookin into a new platform for omnichannel operations management, or need a replacement for your current platform, you should be looking into Brightpearl.

Quick Solution, Great Service

Worked with Ben on a POS issue. Just starting out with BrightPearl and have been beyond impressed with their support staff. Ben solved my problem within 48hours and it seemed like it would be a longer software fix at first. Great service and product!

Been working with Brightpearl since May…

Been working with Brightpearl since May 2016.
We have found the company great to deal with. We have watched their platform go from strength to strength over the years and their customer support is second to none.

We are an E-Commerce drop-ship platform and are one of the biggest online construction retailers in the UK and Brightpearls platform has allowed us to scale in a way that was not possible pre Brightpearl.

Can be expensive if your a startup so wait until your revenues grow and you scale before you take the plundge. When you are ready make the switch and you wont look back.

Exceptional Service

We have been with Brightpearl for a few years now for both our B2B and B2C sites. It's a great system to help us scale and a very easy set up within Magento and Shopify. We've been on Bright Pearl for about 2…

We've been on Bright Pearl for about 2 months now. So far, we're finding that the software is extremely powerful and we're absolutely excited about the depth of power and analytics that this software will provide in purchasing, demand planning and forecasting. Just as important, the automation engine of this software allows us to automate alot of our previously manual processes in order fulfillment. The onboarding process is a bit intense. But I think that goes to show the strength of the software in that its not just a turn on/turn off software like so many other ecommerce extensions out there. There's a significant amount of training and implementation required for it to work properly and with as much functionality as it has.

Anthony Killick was our implementation specialist and he was excellent throughout the process in educating and pushing us towards doin it the right way.

An incredibly versatile ERP system

We’ve been using Brightpearl for 10+ years and have always been impressed with the platform. It has streamlined all of our day-to-day activities – stock management, order fulfillment, accounting, etc - allowing us to focus on growth.
The key for us has been the Inventory Management System which has provided full control of our stock levels, simple processing of goods-in/out, and the distribution of our products across multiple eCommerce platforms.
Couple the above with the CRM side of Brightpearl, and we’ve been able to consistently fulfill B2C and B2B orders quickly and efficiently.
Powerful, versatile, with tons of functionality – it’s exactly what you would and should expect from an ERP system.

Really supportive team

We've been using Brightpearl for about 6 months, and come forward with a lot of exception cases, but had great support both during and after onboarding. The team listens carefully, and works with us to work out how to make Brightpearl work for us.

Excellent system, Better service!

Excellent system, Better service!

We have been using Brightpearl for several months now and it has made or back office 100x more efficient as everything is in one place. Brightpearl offers a ton of useful functions and the help pages are great learning tools to understand how to best use all these functions.

The staff is incredible, always very helpful and responsive. Jamie has been incredible in helping us sort out any issues we may have.
