We have been with Brightpearl since 2006!
I reviewed it three years ago to whinge about the terrible customer service, support and bugs.
But i have to say its improved significantly since then. I would recommended it now. It works well for our business of 35 staff. I do hope they keep focussing on customer service and support. But it is getting there.
Its is supporting our business very well at the moment. I see the challenges other companies have with their software package and I thank god we are where we are on BP

We started to work with Brightpearl in 2013 and have just left them in Nov 2021.
There are 3 reasons we left them and all of them are relevant if you are in a company that expects to grow.
1. No connectivity or integrations.
I see that another review has covered the technicalities of this but suffice to say that we could not get Brightpearl to work in a meaningful way with any 3rd party platform. The way things are moving it is unlikely that any company will stand alone as an island, most of us collaborate with at least one or two platforms and Brightpearl are not able to facilitate this which creates a huge amount of unnecessary work.
2. The Price.
In 2013 we were paying £2500 per annum, and we had inflationary rises every year until 2020 when it was increased to £6000 per annum.
In 2021 our quote was £8400. This is for 5k orders/annum which we were bumping at. If we had gone to 10k/orders per annum our cost would have been £10,500.
Brightpearl is a good solid system but in my opinion it is not worth that amount of money!
3. Customer service.
I have been in business over 20 years and I have parented teenagers so I thought I had seen everything there was to see but the contempt with which Brightpearl customer services treat you is extraordinary. I have tried to think of ways to express this succinctly to a 3rd party and i think the best way is to give this one example.
We signed up on 30th November 2013.
For the next couple of years they invoiced us for 20th November, I sent them a copy of our contract, they delayed payment.
Then finally they said they couldn't do this any longer but when we left obviously we would get until 30th November.
So when we left I duely presented these emails as proof we had until 30th November. They refused on the basis that these people had left the company.
Why?
It wouldn't cost Brightpearl anything to keep the account open until 30th November so why be so petty? I cannot understand why you wouldn't want to do this?
Luckily we had had enough run ins with "customer service" by then that we were prepared but it shows how far they are prepared to go not to help!
My advice? Brightpearl is a good system, but at the price they are charging they need to be able to integrate fully with 3rd party platforms. And please, someone tell customer services that customers are not the enemy!
Update
I see that Brightpearl have replied and this is all a misunderstanding.
Again, I advise any potential customer to check the connectivity and the pricing structure before signing up.
As for Customer Service, it's such a subjective thing. What I think is rude, Brightpearl think is representing brand values professionally. We could both be right.

Not one normally for writing reviews, but really feel compelled to for the service we have recently received from Jamie Lee-Smith at Brightpearl.
Brightpearl is a great tool supporting our business, but the customer service is next level especially from Jamie. Recently we were up against a tight deadline and needed to quickly learn the systems so that we were ready for launch. We were able to meet this deadline only because of the support we received from Jamie.

My experience with Brightpearl was fantastic from start to finish. Doing the integration project in a business who had never had any data integration before, a company with an incredibly fast & complex supply chain and one whose customer promise is very very flexible this project really was first rate. Anthony Killic who was the integration lead, really set the benchmark for training & education. There was the right level of hand-holding and extensive deep dives giving the team all the skills they need to solve problems themselves. The thing that set Anthony apart from other integration leads was the clarity & accuracy with which important points were delivered and therefore were received by our team very clearly. The tone, rhythm and intonation of the education sessions made them as enjoyable as they were informative.

We have used Brightpearl since we started our business in January 2016. Brightpearl has been instrumental in the growth of our business and its support team has helped us along the way, especially in the early days.
Brightpearl is a pleasure to use and is empowering. It's quick and easy to pull off detailed reports which you can doctor to suit your needs. The landed cost feature has been invaluable; with the spiralling costs of freight we know the exact cost of our products from each purchase order we have placed.

Although we didn't end up using Brightpearl as a solution the expirance I had with them was positive. Jodie from the Bis Dev team took time to understand our needs and had obviously researched our company prior to the first call. They have a no noncence approch to explaining the impact there company can have within our workflow. We can definitely see a use case for Brightpearl within our company in the future and when we do I know who to call.

Brightpearl has allowed our business to have visibility on stock integrity, product and stock movement. Installing new systems can be daunting but Brighpearl's support has been first class and helped us with our how we best use the system operationally. Sales data is supremely accurate and the system allows for complexity as a WMS tool.

Before Brightpearl we were using various systems to track stock, fulfill orders, deal with accounts, manage our suppliers — it was all a bit crazy and really time-consuming.
We’re so glad we made the switch to Brightpearl as it helped us save significant amounts of time and understand the business much better. It's given various departments now a unified hub to manage sales, stock, and reporting across all our different sales channels.
We were a bit hesitant about committing to something we were unfamiliar with, but the team from Brightpearl ran several training sessions and gave an open floor for allowing discussion on how to utilize Brightpearl best for us. Their support has been exceptional and they've been on hand to help clarify issues we encountered quickly.
Brightpearl really allowed us to focus on growth rather than being swamped under a load of different systems that didn’t give us an up-to-date picture of where we were.

Brightpearl can on our radar when we outgrew our simple ERP system. We were looking for an ERP that would be great for scaling our WMS, PIM and the B2B side of our business.
Brightpearl seemed like the best alternative between the very simplistic ERPs and the complex enterprise solutions. We have been super happy with BP since launching. The setup took roughly a month and went smoothly (we have tech-people internally). We now run with all but the financials managed by BP. We chose to keep this in a Danish financials tool, due to legislation and integrations.
But, as hoped, BP has allowed us to run a more complex WMS, while allowing for much better oversight and reporting on sales and product performance in general.

Compared to how other companies handle us, I have no incentive to put up with this. Imagine what happens when we need help later. On the other hand, we have reached out to several others and it was handled as most. Professional, enthusiastic and warm. We work with USA agencies all the time and many of them very established ones. It’s not about the money. It’s product and service. For that, they failed on service at the first pass.

As a 2nd generation family business company We have been using Brightpearl for over 5 years - it first provided a way to track inventory across multiple selling platforms and give live sales/accounting data - which was previously reported on a quarterly basis(!). This allowed the company to grow year on year and become more agile and accurate, gaining Amazon seller fulfilled prime accreditation for our DC as well as allowing a number of ecommerce acquisitions.
In late 2019, we presented the Brightpearl team with perhaps it’s biggest challenge – the acquisition of a teamwear company with complex operational processes. Add into this, the company was still largely paper-based and has a SKU count of over 80,000 products, all of which can be personalised in a multi-step, multi location process; we were needing a system that could grow and adapt with us as a group of companies as well as bring to the table industry experts, rather than trying to be a one size fits all solution – which we certainly are not.
In March 2020 with the Global Pandemic it became the main priority to fast track the planned digitisation of the new company in order to survive and keep the team safe.
Working with a number of Brightpearl’s technical team and a dedicated account technical manager this was accomplished and the company was up and trading, with the majority of the team able to work remotely within 12 weeks.
Through numerous lockdowns, over the last 12 months we have added to Brightpearl’s basic functionality to include:
> Scurri, using the click and print facility to speed up and automate dispatch
> Xero accounting, using Business Solutions in the Cloud’s connector to take advantage of Xero’s accounting capabilities
> Sandbox training and testing environment – allowing us to onboard and train a new team to using the system
>Warewolf, the warehouse management system – improving accuracy and DC operations
> Landed costs
> Freshdesk CRM system to improve customer experience through and order process that still has many manual steps.
> Automation – to automate workflows and invoicing amongst other things
> Brightpearl Payments - to speed up the quoting process
> Demand Planner – to improve the group’s forecasting and margin calculation capabilities
> Shopify / Amazon / eBay connectors.
On the whole the last 12 months, we as a company have grown with Brightpearl and made use of a lot of functionality that we previously did not have or know about. The company is now in a stronger position for it and ready for upcoming challenges.
