We recently transitioned Dusk Lighting from our long-standing Visualsoft website and stock management system to Shopify and Brightpearl, and I can confidently say the experience has been extremely positive.
In particular, Alex Sweeting and the wider Brightpearl team were exceptional throughout what was, naturally, a daunting process. Migrating years of data and changing core systems is never straightforward, but Alex guided us step by step. We had weekly training sessions, opportunities to test the system in real-world scenarios, and plenty of time to ask questions. Every query was met with detailed answers tailored to our business.
What stood out most was the effort Alex made to truly understand our processes. Rather than offering generic solutions, he worked closely with us to ensure the system was implemented in a way that genuinely supported how Dusk Lighting operates. That level of engagement made a significant difference.
Of course, with any major shift there were challenges along the way. However, the Brightpearl team worked proactively to help us overcome them and find practical solutions. Their thorough understanding of Shopify and their collaborative approach with partners such as Business Solutions and Shiptheory, as well as their positive cooperation with Visualsoft, ensured the transition was as smooth as possible.
Today, we are very happy with the system. As with any new platform, there are occasional teething issues, but the support is there when we need it — and that gives us real confidence moving forward.
We would highly recommend Brightpearl to any growing retailer looking for a robust system backed by a knowledgeable and genuinely supportive team.

We have been with Brightpearl for three years and it has been a great experience. The ERP has helped us streamline our processes especially using the automations feature for sales orders been amazing. It can be a bit long winded when trying to sync your RMA system with a Magento website in regards to sales credits but all in all this is an excellent product.

Brightpearl is a powerful system, with strong functionality. It gives good visilibility across operations and works well once it's properly set up and embedded into day to day processes.
Reporting can feel a bit clunky to get the information needed, however with the time to set up and training, it is a very effective ERP style system.

We have been using Brightpearl since 2018 for purchasing, inventory management, order fulfilment, and accounts, and overall we are extremely happy with the system. It has become a core part of our daily operations.
Brightpearl keeps our stock levels consistently accurate, which is crucial for us as we sell both ready-made products and manufacture our own goods. Although the platform isn’t specifically built for manufacturing workflows, we’ve found effective workarounds that allow us to manage both sides of the business smoothly.
The software is also very strong in customer management and product organisation, and the accounts side is clear and easy to work with. Everything connects well, which makes our operations much more efficient.
While Brightpearl isn’t always the quickest when it comes to rolling out upgrades, the system itself is stable, dependable, and works very well for our needs—especially as we did not want to invest in a fully customised programme.
Overall, Brightpearl has been a great solution for us, and we’re very satisfied after seven years of use.

Expensive, buggy, cowboy "ERP" with a UI that's about 20 years old. No improvements in the entire time we were using it. Doesn't seem like sage are investing in developing it.
WMS/3PL Integrations are provided by a 3rd party and don't work properly.
You are far better off cost-wise connecting your stores to A2X for accounting and a standalone inventory management tool. Use Shopify flow for automations.
Outside of consolidating data it doesn't really offer any value. If you could use it as a PIM system it would be a marginal improvement, but you can't push product data out of it in to stores (well you can apparently, if you pay yet another 3rd party, presume this won't work either like the WMS)

We've been using Brightpearl for many years now. It's incredible for order management, with out of the box functionality to trigger automations and a flexible API. Triggering automations within the platform itself allows for maintenance of those workflows by otherwise less-technical staff. We have two Shopify sites integrated seamlessly into the system along with custom integrations from other channels that we built using the Brightpearl API. We manage orders from our channels and route them to the appropriate warehouses with ease. Brightpearl shows its strength at order management (and inventory management via Inventory Planner). We do also use it for Accounting (AP, AR, GL, Cash, Financials). The interface is really simple and there aren't fancy automated accounting features (e.g. it's missing invoice upload and recognition, integrated bank feed, etc). There are benefits to it being simple, and it works well for our business, but something to keep in mind for accounting teams with many thousands of monthly transactions. Where Brightpearl can make improvements is to enhance the accounting function, or at least expand on accounting related APIs so that one could build the functionality on top of its existing frameworks (e.g. extend API access to allow for bank feed/import, allow SQL type queries of GL information via API, allow for insight into the dollar balance of specific SKUs to allow more flexibility in systematically pulling true COGs, etc.). In any case, we chose Brightpearl over many other systems years ago and it still continues to perform well for our team.

We had a very disappointing experience with Brightpearl. From the start, the sales team promised features that either didn’t exist or didn’t work once we were fully onboarded. We were never given a trial or any hands-on demo before paying in full, so we had to rely entirely on what was presented to us, and much of it turned out to be inaccurate.
Critical features such as bulk pricing updates syncing to BigCommerce and Authorize.net integration did not work as advertised. Even basic system functions behaved incorrectly, like pricing not updating unless you press “Tab” instead of “Enter.” We were also told we needed to purchase additional software (Inventory Planner) for reporting, only to later discover that many of the reports already existed inside Brightpearl.
After months of back and forth with support, we lost complete trust in the platform and the company. Despite acknowledging that certain promised features weren’t available, Brightpearl refused to refund the unused portion of our prepaid subscription.
It’s now clear why they require full payment upfront; because once you’ve paid, there’s little recourse if the system doesn’t perform as promised. Overall, Brightpearl has been a frustrating and costly experience that we wouldn’t recommend to other businesses.
