As I see it
Like - Regular additions to my DNA Tree
Like - Photos that can be Downloaded - both Grandparents Homes burnt in 1939 Black Friday Fires.
Dislike - when system changes what I have written into the System.
Dislike - that others in the future will be able to see my Notes. If a Male I knew of was a 'Rock Spider' then I like to label him so.
Dislike - very difficult if not impossible to Search within my own Tree.
Dislike - that the DNA could not find Mr Unknown, my Father's Paternal Grandfather.
Dislike - that some Trees look like they followed a Tree found in the Family that says they are related to wealth English Landowners - they are Con Jobs from 19th Century lesser sons of English Families.
Dislike - that Photos of Members look like they are designed for Social Media.

Ancestry stores vast amounts of data from many countries in a very safe location, and has the expertise and skills needed to sift through the data and find connections, aided also by clients own contributions of what they know about their genealogy. Start making a tree and have a DNA test With DNA testing Ancestry can prove what is correct and what is not and offer assistance to genealogists in compiling their family trees. Nowadays using AI the mountain of data is more readily sifted through and sorted and collated with existing family genealogies. I find it all fascinating. and recommend Ancestry often, to anyone wanting to find out about their own family history.

Software downgrade
I am incredibly frustrated with the recent AncestryDNA update. In my original results, I had a detailed breakdown of my heritage: 15% Italian, 25% Balkans, 5% Jewish, and 10% German, alongside my main background. After your latest update, the algorithm completely wiped out all of those specific regions and lazily assigned me 100% of my main heritage. You cannot simply eliminate my family history with a software change. Human DNA does not change, yet your interpretation of it completely contradicted your own previous science. Wiping out distinct regional percentages to group everything into one blanket category is a massive step backward in accuracy that attempts to erase the nuanced history of my ancestors.

Updates to our reference panel and our region assignment algorithm enable AncestryDNA to identify new regions and improve our ability to determine how likely it is that your DNA is associated with a region. These improvements mean that your percentages for a region could go up or down. Because what Ancestry knows about the relationships between regions and DNA has improved, some regions may disappear from your results. This may be particularly true of regions with a low percentage in your earlier results. Excitement in corroborating aural folklore from grandparents with genetics
It was exciting to find out what countries and regions are in my ancestry. There was some debate about one of my ancestors on my maternal side came from Africa and these mystery was solved.
I had spoken to my grandparents about their ancestors and it was wonderful to be able to confirm stories genetically even though they had passed away decades before such genetic information was available.

AI is spoiling my faith in Ancestry results…
I think the use of AI is spoiling my faith in the results provided by Ancestry. For example it gives me information regarding my grandfather that is completely wrong. This means that further back when I don't actually know the family I will not be sure that the information is correct. People are less likely to use Ancestry if they are not convinced of its accuracy.

I have been researching my family on and off for several decades. at first it was slow and painful to learn anything new, Ancestry now has any information easily accessible. It makes an afternoon of research such a pleasure and the pro check makes it easy to be sure you have found the correct person.

Do not deal with this company they are thieves. I cancelled my service only to check my bank statement to find out they continue to take money out of my account to after i cancelled and then when i ring to complain they do nothing but argue and refuse a refund of money they are not entitled to. When i complaint she called me rascist as she sounded philipino yet i hadnt said anything about her personally i would Given MINUS -10 stars if i could.

Ancestry has helped me develop an extensive family tree
Ancestry has helped me develop a comprehensive Family Tree, with its access to many Church, Electoral & Census records, as well as other family's records. Even though these people have passed away, I still get a great sense of satisfaction solving family puzzles. I am also enjoying finding out more about my extended family, esp through DNA links. Be wary of copying info straight from other Family Trees; always go to the source to check first! I am fortunate (if that's the word) that my history is very Anglo-Saxon, as there are so many records from Great Britain that are relevant for me.
