If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would, I had a door salesman came yesterday from universal windows called Jo, who was very nice I don’t normally go with people doing door-to-door, but because it was just a quote that lasted 12 months and I was looking for windows, I thought what the harm. Had a call later on. They said they would call me today to let me know who was coming. When I got the call today, I found out that it is their company policy to speak to Mr and Mrs of the household. Even though I told them on the phone yesterday that it might only be me because my husband was working. Sam couldn’t understand why I was cancelling, but if they can’t talk to me a woman and leave the quote then they’re not getting my sale at the end of the day. Sounds very sexist to me. It’s not a sign deal it’s a quote.

Unfinished Job, Unsafe Work, and Months of Chasing
I paid a deposit to Universal Trade Windows on 16 August 2024, and as of 1 May 2025, the conservatory build is still not complete — over 8 months later!!
Despite repeated assurances, including a written commitment from company director Muddasar (Dassa) that the build would be finished by the end of April, no proper explanation has been given for the continued delays.
Throughout this time, I’ve had to make over 51 phone calls, visit their office, and constantly chase progress. I was told I would be contacted by a staff member named Nick — this never happened, despite multiple attempts on my part. Emails and phone calls have gone largely unanswered.
Major issues include:
Incomplete conservatory.
Lack of knowledge on hope to project plan conservatory.
No understanding about about planning permission and building regs.
A dangerous gap between the conservatory and the garden, creating a trip hazard.
A drainpipe installed with no drainage, so water simply collects at the base.
No insulation applied to the structure.
A non-standard wall (no cavity), with no explanation given.
The garden was left in a complete mess for months, making the outdoor space unusable.
This has caused considerable stress and disruption to my household.
Company directors Muddasar and Matthew have failed to take proper accountability or provide resolution.
I’m now in the process of pursuing formal complaint routes and reporting to Trading Standards.
I would strongly advise others to avoid this company unless you are prepared for delays, unsafe conditions, and poor customer service.
Finally
I can recommend Ks double glazing on Dyas road Brimingham, who started and finished the double glazing on my house without incident.
Universal Trade windows can learn alot from this company.

Ghosted when trying to make a complaint
Had Universal Trade Windows fit a new conservatory roof. The internal finish was appalling due to the incompetence of the electrician who could remember where he put the first fix and drilled random holes in the newly plastered roof. I am doubtful about the quality of the roof installation too.I've been complaining for three months but as much as they promise to fix the job they keep on ghosting me. They have not sent the guarantee through either. And apparently none of them have surnames. Maybe roof work is beyond them and they should stick to doors and windows. Will start involving trading standards next week

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. As a company, we are always striving to improve and maintain a high standard of service.
When there are two property owners, we prefer to meet with both, as we manufacture a bespoke product. Having both homeowners present makes the process smoother, allowing us to discuss openers, designs, and other important details.
From experience, we find that this approach leads to better outcomes and higher customer satisfaction. Additionally, it helps minimize multiple visits, saving both fuel and labor costs.
Even if your partner was available, we would have still preferred for you to be present as well, so you could be involved in the design process.
When we confirmed your appointment, we did mention that we prefer to meet both homeowners whenever possible.
We agreed on a 10 AM appointment the following morning, but when we arrived, this was not the case.
I have since reached out to you by phone to address your concerns, as we take customer feedback very seriously. However, during our conversation, I was not given the opportunity to fully respond.
As a family-run business, reviews like this can be very damaging, but please know that we are genuinely committed to resolving any issues.

I had a lady come round and over quote me so I expressed how I was not happy with this to Kevin, Kevin came around again and re quoted me and I was so happy with it and went ahead.
Kevin has been an absolute star, everything he told me I would get, I got.
Every time he said he would do something, he did.
Katie was lovely also, rang me whilst the job was on going to check in.
I’ve had so much communication from start to finish - absolutely amazing.

Door fitting review
Kam and Onkar both very professional and pleasant. They did a great job of fitting my new doors. Before they were fitted, I met with three people from the company; the original guy who was knocking on doors, he arranged the salesman, who wasn't at all pushy, another guy arrived at my house a couple of weeks later to confirm the door size etc, I then spoke with two ladies in admin. All the people I've met, and those I've spoken with over the phone, were very friendly, helpful and professional. I would recommend Universal Trade Windows. Thank you!

Fast and efficient as always I have used Universal Trade Windows for number of jobs on my property and have received great service every time. The latest job was the replacement of garage doors . Professional work by fitters
Thank you to Kam and Onker for a professional job in fitting a new door and window today. They were efficient and polite and cleared all the debris away. Kam spotted before I did that the letterbox had been missed off and relayed this to head office. This means staying in another day to have it retrofitted so I cannot give 5 stars.
Both sales & admin staff and installers at Univeral Windows are recommended but their fabricators need better attention to detail.
I find the structure of their windows of high quality, but the trickle- vents are flimsy and I don't have full confidence in the way they are attached.
