The guy I spoke with, Herson, was friendly, empathetic and accommodating. The whole process was calm and efficient and Herson did everything he could to help me work out an affordable payment plan. Due to the nature of the call, I have come away feeling listened to and, dare I say it, I am quite looking forward to the follow up call arranged with Herson next month! Apparently, American Express switched from AIC to the Zinc Group. In the process, while the Zinc Group managed to use my new, correct email address, they somehow didn’t manage to use my correct married name or address that the AIC and Amex had for several years. When I asked Matthew from the Zinc group to raise a complaint about letters being sent to my old address, Matthew blamed American Express for providing them with the incorrect address and advised he would raise a complaint against American Express rather than the Zinc Group. Could the Zinc group perhaps double check to ensure the details are correct before sending out documents containing personal information to the wrong address?
Matthew also strong-handed me into disclosing sensitive information about my health. Despite the reason for the call being unrelated, Matthew asked I disclose personal data relating to events that took place several years ago. When I asked if that was necessary, I was told, ‘yes it is’. When I disclosed the information, I was duly informed that I may withdraw the sensitive information I just provided if I wish due to its sensitive nature. So why was I forced to disclose it in the first place?! Perhaps the Zinc group could mention in advance that I have the option to withhold such information in the first place, rather than making me discuss it? Feels illegal, in my opinion.
Also, Matthew then continued asked personal questions over the phone despite me saying I would like to communicate in writing going forward.
Very unprofessional, intrusive, and discriminating company.

Updating a Payment plan
Needed to make a somewhat urgent change to a payment plan due to circumstances. The customer service agent I spoke to, Kieran (apologies if I missed the correct spelling), was super helpful throughout the entire process, even when I had some difficulty getting some details across. I have been having problems with my up to date bill from Octopus energy, this lady gave me what she could see from my last meter readings, i have been having difficulty with my finances recently and she offered solution and company's that may help me.
