We used Plusroom for our kitchen extension. We asked for a quote to a few other providers, but the quote from Plus Rooms was definitely the best one. The price was competitive, but the best thing about the quote was a detailed itemisation that really made us feel comfortable when starting the project. The builders that the company uses are generally very good, such as the quality of their work. Having a project manager is helpful in particular when talking to builders. But we had issues throughout the project - the process was not seamless and was often frustrating. The notice to the neighbours drafted by the solicitor was not reviewed by PlusRoom, and included incorrect information that contributed to the neighbours objecting the plan, we had issues with feeling that our needs were not being heard, the handover to the finishing team was a bit chaotic and caused us issues, and the experience with the finishing team that they recommend was not great. We are very happy with the final result of the work but the project was a bit of a rocky road.

We employed Plusrooms after consulting with many building firms to project manage a kitchen and extension rebuild. From the initial meeting with a company Director through to the final snagging meetings, the team at Plusrooms proved their professionalism and project knowledge. The process from a clearly defined budget and payment plan through to the management of a multitude of trades people was excellent, resulting in a very satisfied customer. If like me, major building, plumbing and electrical works are not your forte then I highly recommend a conversation with Plusrooms before embarking on such a project.

Plus Rooms worked with us to extend and reconfigure the ground floor of our semi-detached home located in a conservation area. The project also included submitting our planning application, lowering the floor and building an adjoining bathroom. During the project, we really appreciated the level of professionalism shown by our project coordinator and all of their contractors. Our face to face meetings was very useful and they were also very good at returning calls or text messages. We encounter an issue towards the end of the project with our builder, but our project coordinator resolved the issue by stepping up, providing us with options, and ensuring that the outcome was exactly what we wanted. Overall, we are very happy with our home extension and will use Plus Rooms again for any project in the future!

Plus Rooms completed our large kitchen and ground floor remodeling in Autumn 2019. On the whole we are very happy with the results. They were considerate builders, who made sure that the initially reluctant neighbours were on board. They worked quickly and efficiently and were always happy to listen to our concerns as the project unfolded. The reason Plus Rooms got the job is that they were willing to come up with fresh ideas that utilised our space to it's maximum, rather than just give us what we had asked for. We did have some issues with the window company that Plus Rooms offered us, as they couldn't provide the size / style of the rear windows we wanted but this was resolved with another supplier coming on board. Also the positioning of the RSJs became a problem during the build and we wish we had more detailed conversations before the build started that would have avoided this. The finishing and snags took longer than expected but that said, we are very happy with the results and would recommend the Plus Rooms team.

We used Plus Rooms to do a kitchen/living room extension, creating a utility out of the back double reception room. We were happy with the service Plus Rooms offered throughout. We were impressed with the initial quotation/consultation where I was given some imaginative ideas in terms of the lay-out of the extension which we ended up using. The full design and build service with project manager worked well. We have done two other building projects both of which claimed to have a project manager involved and neither really did when it came to it. The Plus Rooms project manager was on site at least once a week and was always helpful and responsive. He had a good aesthetic eye which I found helpful and would always offer an opinion when asked. The individual tradesmen used by Plus Rooms (electrician, plumber etc) were great - friendly, responsive and work of a high quality. The job was finished on time and to a high quality and I would recommend the company to others.

Very happy with Plusrooms. They did a loft extension and then wrap around kitchen extension to our terraced Edwardian house. As with any building project we hit snags but the proof was in the way Plusrooms quickly and carefully dealt with them.

I was also very impressed with their follow up after the project, checking all was good. Very professional outfit.

We had a loft conversion done pre Xmas 2019 and from the initial design to the completion the build was as smooth anything and on time.

I feel a bit of a fraud for writing this type of review but the build was smooth, on time and any issues which occurred (they do with any major building work) were dealt with smoothly and no fuss. The price was bang on budget and the project support from plus rooms was top notch. There was a slight delay to the start of the build (1/2 weeks) but the team on site were polite, punctual and we hardly noticed them.

I can't recommend plus rooms enough.

I chose Plus Rooms because I wanted a Design and Build company with excellent customer service and superb project management capability. From the initial design discussion to the project close meeting, my interactions with the team have been excellent. They chose expert, professional and reliable tradespeople and oversaw the entire process. They were transparent regarding cost and flagged up possible and likely contingencies so I could budget. I wanted quality but value for money and they advised me on how to achieve this realistically. They kept things on track with my schedule and in fact we ended up ahead of schedule. Any issues (we needed to dig deeper foundations as required by the building inspector) were resolved in a timely and fair manner and they did everything they could to reduce the stress of a large building project. We had a side and back extension to our house in Alexandra Park and are absolutely delighted with the result. I would highly recommend them.

I just had Plusrooms do a side extension for us. Were there thing they could have done better? A couple. But would I recommend them? Absolutely. They got all the key things right: They took care of all the planning approvals and surveys. There were some nuances in negotiating our party wall agreement with our neighbours, and I would have been lost without Plusrooms to guide us through. The build itself went smoothly. The build team started on time, worked continuously (no downing tools to run off to do other projects) and finished on time (when does that ever happen?). It’s not a concierge service so I would recommend that you still have regular chats with the builder yourself. There are always little things specific to your house, and you should stay in the loop. To me, the Plusrooms project manager is there to make sure the build is being completed on time and to a high quality. Also, this isn’t a City law firm; don’t expect an email to be answered right away. But they always did give me the answers I needed. There were no hidden costs and no attempts to upsell me. I ended up paying more to go deeper with the foundation, but that was required by the survey and the cost was set out in the schedule to the contract so there was no haggling over the actual cost. I also chose to have a new concrete floor which cost a few thousand, but that was my proactive choice and, again, the costs were predetermined. The finishing team was particularly good about not charging me for extras, when I am sure others would have done so. As some reviewers have mentioned, the finishing process was more stressful though it probably always is. It dragged on in my case, but in the end, it got done to a high quality. If you wanted to do something super bespoke that required a top architect, I don’t know if they would be the right outfit (irrelevant in my case since we wanted a high quality but straightforward project, so you should ask them if they do more architecturally bespoke projects). When I hear of the experiences that others have had with their builders (jobs started, then stopped; arguments over cost; being pig in the middle between two sets of tradesmen who blame each other for something gone wrong), then I am very glad I chose Plusrooms. The tradesmen were all high quality individuals and very keen to stay in Plusrooms’ good books so they were generally very responsive. The company is genuinely professional.

PlusRooms handled our kitchen extension very professionally and we are extremely happy with the end result. Our project manager was good at communicating throughout the process (we had weekly face-to-face meetings during the build and he was good at returning texts and calls). The build team were fantastic and worked like demons to stick to the schedule. We were less happy with the finishing team and we did feel more on our own at that point, but then at the end PlusRooms did step in again to resolve some of the remaining issues, which we appreciated. Overall I felt they were a professional outfit who guided us through the process very smoothly - particularly during the build part of the project.

Plus Rooms did our side return and rear extension brilliantly, on time, and on budget. Really hard working, savvy guys, who enjoyed working with from beginning to end (and look forward to having them back for the loft conversion!).

We used Plusrooms to build a side return and kitchen extension to replace an existing conservatory. They are a very professional company and guided us through the process effectively. We had some issues around planning permission and the depth of foundations due to nearby trees, but Plusrooms were proactive in helping us deal with these problems and found solutions that limited the additional costs accrued. The builld phase of the work was carried out extremely well, with an excellent team who finished almost two weeks ahead of schedule. The team were also very conscientious when it came to respecting our neighbours. Like others, we have experienced a slightly slower pace of progress with the finishing team, but are hoping the project will be fully finished soon.

I had seen Plus Rooms work at a few other houses and had earmarked them as my 1st choice to do my extension. Once agreed found there advice on the design and planning helpful but they had no problems in implementing what we had in mind. What was most impressive was when the builder first assigned to the job had slowed his pace down they took it upon themselves to replace the builder at all time keeping me informed and checking I was ok with the decision. It also really helps having a project manager as we had to go away in an emergency everything was handled while we were gone.
They will be more expensive then your average builder but the quality of the work and materials used and the speed it was completed in is what you pay for.

We used Plus Rooms for our kitchen extension over the summer and are so pleased with the finished result. The planning and build processes were faultless - the teams kept to time and budget, and it was all well co-ordinated. We lived in the house during the build with young children and they were very respectful of this. We did have some delays with the finishing team, which was the only slightly negative part of the experience, but I believe Plus Rooms have now made changes to how this is managed. Overall we would have no hesitation to recommend Plus Rooms.

We recently used Plus Rooms for a side return extension, loft extension and various other works including a whole new first floor bathroom. From start to finish the team were incredibly professional, transparent and everything was done to a very high standard. Having a dedicated project manager to monitor works and certify payments was helpful and we rated all the teams we worked with highly. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a rear extension done by Plus Rooms and couldn't be happier. The team were friendly and professional and we were very comfortable having them working in the house while we were there. Having a project team was invaluable as we had experts who could verify the quality of all the trades.
