PITS were great they recovered my 3 very old hard drives very quickly and recovered all the original file names, which when I had other drives recovered previously by another company the file names didn't come through, so this was very satisfying!

I don’t recommend this company at all. I sent my USB flash drive away having clearly stated on the phone what was wrong with it.
I was quoted approx £100 to repair.
The cheaper option they came back with was £690 increasing to £1515 for a faster turnaround. I was duped into sending it off to them with the £50 initial charge and a rough idea of cost that was wildly under their minimum charge.
Unscrupulous tactics stay well away.

Adam and his team delivered excellent customer service and I hope I don't loose my data but if anyone else does then I definitely would recommend them.

My intention for this post is to make the business owners aware of their reps, and in no way to hurt their business.

I recently had a Samsung T7 4TB SSD drive stop mounting to my desktop. I found PITS and sent in my request, which was promptly followed up with a phone call from a representative and a $100 fee to expedite the process. Once my drive arrived at their center, I was given four service options:

This was all before they even confirmed if they could recover the video files. After getting on the phone with them, I explained that these prices were way out of my budget (I really wish they had told me this upfront). The sales rep then proceeded to lower the price and finally offered Option 4 at $1,000 if I left a review.

Their pricing structure seems subjective and potentially predatory, based on who they are talking to. I just wanted to share my experience so others know what they're getting into. After declining their service multiple times and hearing the rep insist that I wouldn’t find a cheaper price elsewhere and cautioning me about attempting to fix it myself, I had to pay an additional $25 to have my drive sent back. From the initial phone call to receiving the estimates, it took from Saturday to Thursday and cost me $125, and my issue was never resolved.

*Edit Update: After calling Samsung they told me that all it was was a formatting issue so I just needed to open the drive on a PC, transfer the files to a safe external, then reformat the entire drive for Mac again. It's 8 months now and haven't had the issue again.

They managed to recover all my data, but there are some hidden costs for providing you with your data back that are not included in the original quote. I found that to be a little disingenouous, as they kind of 'hold you hostage' to spend more money on a disc drive, or you can't - in essence - get your data back.

When I first found this company, the website looked promising, they had "good reviews" posted to the site, the customer service (at first) was friendly and seemed overly certain they could help recover data from a hard drive that had a head issue. As soon as I put in an inquiry, I got a phone call. I explained what happened, they assured me they have dealt with the problem before, and I paid a $95 rush fee because I'm a photographer and had important galleries on that drive. I asked what a price range would be for this, and I was told "At minimum, it's gonna be at least $100 but it could even go up to $800". Ok...fine. I suppose I don't have an option.

Fast forward...I get an email telling me what my options where to recover, and the CHEAPEST price was $1,899. Not sure how $1-800 becomes $1899.

I IMMEDIATELY called the company, and had to call two different numbers 3 times before I could get through. After explaining the price ranges weren't in my budget (again, I'm a small town photographer) I was told he could speak to his manager to "see what they can do", which was nothing but give me a quicker turn around time for the $1899, no price change. I continued to explain I couldn't afford this. I was then told they could try to talk to he lab manager AGAIN and at this point I felt jerked around.

It is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable that I was then told that if I didn't pay these prices, that no other company would even TOUCH my drive for this type of problem. I was also told I should reach out to my clients who's imagery is in jeopardy (even though they aren't at fault) and see if THEY would be willing to pay a portion of this price. Seriously??

For a company charging prices like that, they sure seemed desperate to get my business and considering they mentioned having someone else pay? No thanks. That's shady and rude and UNACCEPTABLE.

I'm waiting on my drive to be sent back. I can't recommend this company at all for your data recovery needs. I feel like they are just out for your money.

Do not believe the hype. I sent in my drive to be examined, a 2 TB SeaGate hard drive. I was given a quote of over $2,200. I started negotiations with the salesperson over price. The next day I get a call stating that all of my data was recovered and she was sending me a cloud link to access my data. I informed her that I never reached a price with the sales person; she got extremely nervous, starting coming up with excuses, then abruptly transferred me to someone else. Price negotiations continued and each time I refused, another fake "promotion" was given, dropping the price by a few hundred dollars each time. The price went from $2,300 all the way down to $999 which was still not acceptable. I requested them to ship the drive back to me where, once again, I was asked if I would like to see if there was ANOTHER promotion they could apply. By the 6th "promotion", the gig was up and I was sick of their bogus claims. I rejected all offers and ordered them to ship my drive back. They attempted to ship the drive back to me and FedEx LOST the package. I am not claiming that PITS has anything to do with that but the whole situation could have been avoided if this was an ethical company that did not knowingly charge extortionate rates.Thanks to their absolute GREED, my trust in them was broken, which led to the complete loss of my drive. Sad, sad business practices.

Hello, This is my 5 star review for PITS Global Data Recovery Services. Most importantly the customer service was always willing to help in anyway they can. With questions about my service and how the process works in details was really helpful. The communication through email and on phone was great. Either way I was in the know and I knew what to expect. The process i thought was simple and fast turnaround.
When I was finished with the process I was very satisfied with the outcome. I received 100% of my data I thought I lost. These are memories of my family pictures I now able to get back. Thank you PITS Global Data Recovery Services
