I love my cat
I love my cat. Apart from one thing. He behaves like one, and brings home every conceivable bit of wildlife he can find. Magpies, garden mice, birds -once even a young pheasant. Coping with these presents in the middle of the night was impossible. Also highly stressful. But, thanks to John and his staff my life has been transformed. They are all so helpful, reassuring and understanding. A special mention for Josh, who fitted the flap. Such a great professional who patiently answered my many questions.
Nimbus still tries to bring his gifts inside, but the technology is so good that he can’t enter with any
‘Contraband’. Other cats are also banned.
One slightly ‘miffed’ cat. One very happy and satisfied owner.

I choose this company to invest nearly £600 in a sealed unit with a cat flap installed. I picked the cat flap from their recommended flaps (Sure Petcare flap). Within about 6 weeks the cat flap was letting in a terrible draft - Pet Flaps UK wouldnt do anything about it and sure Petcare sent me something to fix myself - avoid both companies unless you want a draft house and a DIY job despite spending decent money
Thanks for your reply John - I did approach your company but didn’t get an offer of help. The issue is a hole in the cat flap- that shouldn’t happen.

Thank you for sharing your experience of draught through your pet flap, other readers will be grateful to hear of the limitations of some pet flap designs. All our interaction with customers and accompanying paperwork encourages you to do your own independent research and to make an informed choice, just as readers of this review and my answer will be doing.
A traditional design of pet flap is a two way swinging flap in an open aperture and is not therefore sealed shut. Some draught is, unfortunately, unavoidable and the same applies for virtually every manufacturer of traditional vertical swinging pet flaps. Our expertise led to a recent feature about heat loss through pet flaps in TV personality Martin Robert's Property and Home Magazine. In this we were able to draw readers' attention to high end products which are considerably more efficient at keeping out draughts than the mainstream brands; these however come at a premium price.
SureFlap do provide a draught strip with a longer pile that attempts to address this issue and is an easy fix taking less than a minute. When customers feel unable to attach this themselves - perhaps through infirmity - we are pleased to assist.
Thank you again for taking time out and I shall share your comments with SureFlap, as the dominant market leader, selling literally millions of devices worldwide, they like us accept critiscm with good grace and use feedback to improve their designs.

Be wary
I'm not the type to leave reviews but on this occasion I must. TLDR: rude staff, 6 week wait, unreliable fitting times, withholding a refund.
- From reaching out to the company to installation, I waited approximately a month and a half. I wouldn't personally call six weeks a short wait time. I understand PetFlaps are busy but six weeks is immense.
- The service I paid for was *not* the service I paid for at all. The installer installed a much cheaper fix rather than the agreed on method. I had to ask the company for a refund directly, I was not offered one upfront which was quite a surprise. I could be wrong here but I can't help but feel that this cheap fix was only done as my elderly mother was home when the fitting was done, it very much felt as if they were taking advantage of an older woman for her money.
- When I reached out to Petflaps I was met with quite a nasty tone from the owner John who said: "(the company's) initiative in not having to use a new panel has saved you just over £65!" The irony was seemingly lost on John, that I had to ask him for money back...
- I was told the fitter would arrive in the afternoon, I planned my day around this, only to be told he would be arriving in the morning.
After the above ordeal, I really would expect a full or quite substantial refund, but, I'm yet to see this.

When we receive a negative review we take on board that which our customer has to say and try to use same to improve our service standards for future customers.
Public forums like this are not the place to enter into debate but for the benefit of other customers I find it necessary to clarify certain accusations and falsehoods against our business. At no point was a refund 'withheld', on the contrary, it was processed at 2:20pm on 4th February, the day of the installation, notification that this had been done was emailed to our customer at 2:33pm.
We received the initial enquiry on 8th January and responded that day. After some exchange of email correspondence we received the order and full customer address details on 14th January so from receipt of order to travelling to install took 3 calendar weeks.
The installer Josh arrived and knocked at the door and rang the bell at 12:19 in the afternoon as agreed.
In email correspondence prior to the order being received one of our customer service team members suggested we may use a SureFlap adaptor plate to compensate for a large hole which would be exposed when the current installed pet flap was removed, or it may be necessary for the installer to replace the entire door panel. As it transpired on the day the installer was able to effect a neat installation without the unecessary need and expense to our customer of changing a door panel. Far from being a 'cheap fix', use of SureFlap branded parts are good practice.
We trust our customer will enjoy many years of service from her pet flap and remember to register the device with the manufacturer SureFlap for their 3 year warranty; as their nationally approved and recommended installer we can vouch for their customer service being first class.

Awesome service! The products are well sourced and priced. Quotation was quick, payment was easy, responses were always prompt. Our fitter Jason did a really professional job and we are super pleased with the whole package! As is our cat, who will hopefully lose a little weight now that she can go outside. The vet said she's fat (which is rude, but also correct). Thanks guys!

Jimmy was fantastic! Really good communication and reliable while fitting my new cat flap. Explained everything to me as he was doing it which was great. Highly recommend. Delivery and communication with pet flaps was also brilliant.

The definition of 5 star service
The definition of 5 star service. I had no idea a company was out there that did this but trusted in the reviews and PetFlapsUK delivered!
I had to have a cat flap put through an iron stone wall. The quotes for options were swift to arrive, the fitter Joshua was professional and the result looks very smart. The level of quality in terms of finish is top notch. Definitely worth the money rather than a DIY attempt.
We did have a problem getting our cat through one side of the cat flap but this was as we expected - the micro chip had migrated down our cat's back, once this was resolved it all worked like a dream.
Anna and the team supported with customer aftercare with multiple resolutions and offered support if the catflap had been faulty.
One word of advice if you are putting it through a thick wall do check the default number of tunnel extenders that come with the invoice vs your wall thickness I had to add a few more as we had a very thick wall.

I needed a cat flap instillation
I had looked for someone to fit a cat flap in my window I received 2 quotes. The reason I went with petflapsuk. Was because the quote was broken into each section and very well explained. The customer support also was very good. I was kept informed of each process of my job as it was completed. I was able to take advantage of interest free credit which help finance this job for me. Josh the fitter was excellent a great credit to the company and so obliging.

Not great communications
I had to chase up after no contact after 10 days from either the fitter or about the delivery of the cat flap. On the phone I found out the cat flap was out of stock and they said they would send me an alternative if I was happy with it. The customer service rep was helpful on the phone but I feel I should have been contacted rather than needing to chase up.
Additionally the fitter took a while to respond the organise a date and time, only finalising the time the day before.

Thank you for the review. We have had quite a few issues with our suppliers running out of stock recently, fortunately we are able to draw on all the manufacturers for alternatives. Especially at this time of year our fiitters' diaries are choc-a-bloc busy and we try to fit in as many appointments as we can. We do hope your furry friend enjoys being able to come and go.
Disappointing experience
Whilst the local company that Pet Flaps passed the job to has done a good job, the communication from Pet Flaps themselves I felt was poor. Requests for updates on progress of the order were not responded to, I ended up chasing up with the supplier myself. Pet Flaps also sent the flap to my address rather than the supplier, so I had to make a 25 mile journey to take it to the supplier so that they could cut the glass, which is obviously very inconvenient. I don’t feel like the service advertised on the website matched the one I received so unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend based on my experience.

First class communication throughout and very accommodating fitting around my work hours. Josh was fabulous and completed the fitting with great care and attention. Our cat flap was fitted today by a lovely young man who couldn't have been more helpful.
