Sharing my experience from both sides - as a mentor (a year and a half) and a mentee.

MentorCruise as a platform is there for me/mentors to remove all the hassle (marketing, promotion, scheduling, payments, communication with mentees), and let me do what I do best.

The support team was always available for any questions I had and responded quickly to all the issues I reported.

Without MentorCruise I would not have a chance to meet 30+ wonderful people and work with them.

As a mentee, I've found some great mentors to learn from. The experience of finding them, learning about them, reaching out, and creating a subscription was as easy as writing this review.

I've used MentorCruise as both a Mentee and a Mentor over the past . I've had two mentors on myself there and have worked with over a dozen mentees. It's been a great experience for me on both fronts.

As a Mentee:
Being able to connect with highly experienced professionals in my field has been very helpful. Sometimes I just need a gut check on something, other times I've been navigating career changes and taking on new responsibilities where I needed some guidance on.

Over the last 2 years I've had two different mentors who I picked based on where I was in my career at the time. I'm currently searching for my next mentor on the platform. Even if you don't use MentorCruise, I recommend having a mentor or coach as part of your career plan. It's helped me tremendously.

As a Mentor:
The ability to give back and be compensated for your time is incredibly rewarding. Being a mentor requires a certain level of organization and attention. I've worked with mentees in a variety of different contexts: Helping them find and prepare for new jobs, understand if Product Management is an ideal role for them, built out projects and case studies for growing Product Designers, etc.

I have many mentees I've worked with for 6+ months, and MentorCruise has done a great job of facilitating that while getting out of the way and keeping me from having to worry about missed payments, expired cards, and marketing.

Mentorcruise.com is an amazing platform for both mentors and mentees. As someone who has used the platform from both sides, I can confidently say that my experience has been great. The platform has a diverse group of mentors from different fields, which makes it easy to find someone who can provide guidance in your area of interest.

The staff at MentorCruise is incredibly helpful and responsive. They are always available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have, and they go above and beyond to ensure that your experience on the platform is positive.

Another thing that I love about MentorCruise is the welcoming community. As a mentee, I felt very comfortable reaching out to my mentor, and as a mentor, I enjoyed engaging with my mentees and helping them achieve their goals.

Overall, I highly recommend MentorCruise to anyone who is looking for guidance or mentorship in their professional or personal life. It's a fantastic platform that is well-run, supportive, and effective.

I signed up with two different mentors, Rudy and Ahmed, and got great feedback from both of them. As a a decades-experienced developer I wanted some "younger input" on current platform trends and what was good to focus on career-wise (having just gotten laid off). I was on a "lite" plan with both of them but they were both very timely and forthcoming with info about industry trends, etc. It was also good to have a couple different points of view to be able to make wider decisions. As it turned out I got hired in my current skillset but the input was still quite valuable. I think either one of these guys, and other mentors, would take you through a more comprehensive path if you were on a bigger plan. No regrets!

I have a technical background and was looking for a mentor to navigate the sales and business development, and to help me see other perspectives on these functions than my fairly prejudiced technical point-of-view.

I found a great mentor guiding me through the different problems I want to address. We meet regularly, discuss what I've done, and what my next options are, what I should read, and what's within the scope of possible for me, and where I'm leaning too far out of the window. It's super helpful

In my opinion, what makes Mentorcruise unique and different is the long-term big-picture nature of the relationship: rather than hands-on, look-at-this-code type of interactions, mentors and mentees can set longer-term goals and develop strategies to work towards them with lots of opporunity to touch in, check, and if necessary, change the approach.

I signed up for mentor cruise, thinking that I would be able to expand my knowledge on coding. I was matched with a mentor and was asked to pay via cryptocurrency as something was going on with other payment options. I was uncomfortable with this as this was not a preferred payment on their platform. I mentioned that I would find a different mentor and thanked him for his time.

About 2 to 3 days later I received another message stating that the payment issue that he was having with PayPal has been resolved, and that he would like to still be my mentor based on his credentials and everything that he had to offer I agreed.

He mentioned that he would be able to assist me with my shortcomings and questions that I had with coding. he mentioned that he would be able to assist me with my shortcomings and questions that I had with coding but what I was greeted with however, that was not the case, and I started working on tasks that felt like they possibly belong to his company or possibly one of his colleagues.

I then did some additional research on LinkedIn and saw that he attended Harvard but only for a year. As well as an extensive repertoire of experience, but his linked in only showed he’s been coding for roughly 3 years although on mentor cruise, it showed he had been coding for 10+ years. Mind you - I was promised 4 to 5 zoom calls, or live chats to where we can discuss code but instead I was greeted with projects with no meetings, and this made me feel extremely uneasy

I advised that I would not be able to fulfill their mentorship, because I do not have the bandwidth, and I would like a refund. The mentorship was immediately canceled, and I was not refunded.

I reached out to mentor cruise customer service, who said they would look into the matter and excited with the mentor, even though I expressed concerns as to why he was asking me for cryptocurrency when that was not her preferred payment. I filed a chargeback with my bank as I felt this company was scamming me, and 14 days later, they responded to my bank and said no this was a valid charge.

Update: I can absolutely post confirmation of the shady practices of asking for crypto which was NOT a preferred payment method on your site. You’re fraudulent through and through. I have all of the contact screenshots so if you’d like to say I omitted any information- you may want to rethink that statement.

I have worked with other mentoring platforms before and I would say the business model of MentorCruise is revolutionary. I love this platform. I'm working as a mentor, the mentees under me are happy too. It has given me a chance to help new learners in a professional way.

This is a life-changing amazing experience and I have enjoyed it so much.

I am trying to get back to my dream career as UX Designer and I was out of the industry for almost 4 years during the horrible immigration process and covid-19.
I finally finished all the homework for myself and I start to realize that I have no idea where to start to begin my UX Designer career.
It was pretty sad and I have been trying to watch tutorials and everything. However, It was so difficult for me to start from the very beginning stage without knowing where I am going, and finding the right mentor was pretty hard.
I have been trying ADP list. However, the mentor's consultation is free and they are not gonna get paid for their time so there will be no commitment on the mentor or mentee side.

As you know, if you would like to break into an industry that you want to get in. One-time mentorship will not huge benefit in long term. It is still better than nothing but if someone who knows you better and knows the industry that you are getting into as senior/lead level. This is an amazing synergy that you never expected in your whole life! I really felt lucky that my mentor, Earl is an amazing human being and understands my struggles and finding the best solution that I could approach.

MentorCruise has given me the opportunity of learning new skills even after I graduated from college. My mentor gave me motivation back and now I wake up happy and excited to work again!

A data engineer was my mentor and he had no clue how to help someone. He told me that he had 5 other mentees and that he was a senior data engineer. On our calls I would hear a bunch of babies in the background crying. Before I ended my mentorship, I hadn't heard from him for two weeks.

Update: I was offered a discount and I haven't heard back from them. Oh yea, they want me to change my review...lol

My mentor didn’t seem like a domain expert and he looked annoyed that he had to meet with me. He asked me what I needed help with and then offered very little advice. It was a waste of money and there is no way to review them on the mentor cruise website, they filter out all negative feedback.

I'm very satisfied with my Mentor Gonçalo Plama! He does not only talk me about Flutter but he helps me to grow, to think as a senior developer!

Through Mentorcruise I've found my first mentors six months ago. Since then, I've progress professionally a lot, because my mentors helped me a lot along my learning journey. Wouldn't be there where I am today without Mentorcruise, which helped me to easily find the right mentors.
