My review is strictly about my experience In applying to be a mentor. I am retired, with decades of experince in IT, Big 5 Consulting, and IT Research. I was directed to fill out an online application form. I could not complete two “required” fields, as, I no longer have a Linked-In account; nor a Twitter handle. I sent along my CV, with a request to have it reviewed, instead. The response was that as I could not provide an entry for the two fields on their form, I could not be considered. Clearly, a triumph of form ( pun intended) over substance. Raises questions about how serious a firm that they are.

Really positive experience overall. I found a great mentor who helped me improve both my technical knowledge and the way I approach learning and solving problems. The pricing feels fair and matches the value I got from the mentorship.

I'd been looking for real mentorship access for almost 10 years — someone who's actually built and scaled a business, not just another guru teaching things they've never done themselves. What sets my mentor apart is that he isn't running a coaching business — he owns and operates a real company in my field, and mentors purely to give back and help people coming up behind him. Well the amount of time I wasted trying to get the website to work and figure out the set up was roughly 8 hrs and back and forth to support without fixes. That's not even getting to the communications and fit issues with the Mentor. Be sure to document everything assume the worst as when you go to have them uphold their policies they go with written proof and nothing else and since the Mentors know all this and the user doesn't - the user loses. Being reasonable gets you nowhere which is always disheartening.

As an early career professional I was able to find great help. There are a lot of people willing to share their expertise so it was easy to create a shortlist of people who might be a good fit to see regularly or as needed. That's the one thing that's important before purchasing mentorship, knowing what stage you're at and how each person is marketing themselves.

My fav part is that how easy it is to search for a mentor and find a good fit with the intro call. And also to cancel or pause my subscription!

I've been a mentor for about 4 years at MentorCruise. From all platforms out there it's my favorite, as you get a lot of support, it's flexible, and are able to do everything in the app itself, as in scheduling calls, allowing mentees to pay for their mentorship, etc. From the mentor's perspective it's been great and I have the feeling mentees seem to enjoy as well
