Grace was really helpful and incredibly responsive in helping me source a flat which I am very happy with! I also had a few questions during the referencing stage and responsiveness from those at Leaders was good. So far, no issues and happy to have been assisted by Grace!

Joshua Faller is a brilliant property manager. He is always quick to respond and keeps me updated. He sorted out a council tax issue when my property was empty for a few days between tenants.
He also is great with contractors and getting me invoices when I need them.

The laziest and most incompetent bunch I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. If staff turnover is anything to go by they’re as poor an employer as they are an agent. After almost 6 weeks I’ve not seen my £3000 deposit. And that’s for a property left in far better condition (and accepted as such) than at the outset.
The property had contractors constantly fixing various long term problems that a coat of emulsion could fix. The landlord who lives overseas has spent a fortune on poor quality workman and a 24% bung to Leaders…..the bigger the bill the bigger the bung! No point in getting jobs done right in the first place.
If my experience of dealing with Manchester office is typical…AVOID AVOID AVOID

As a landlord I can honestly say this is the worse letting agent I have ever used. A fully managed service which was not cheap mainly consisted of them finding a tenant (which cost above management fees) and then nothing else. Been left with a property with over £5k damage not checks on the tenant were made whilst there which is meant to be part of the service. They haven’t informed the council or utilities of move in or out dates and now I’m being passed from pilar to post all blaming each other. Absolute shocking company and would not go near again. If they treat the landlords this way god help tenants!

The worst letting agency I have come across in the UK ever! No profession li, move in date changes a day before move in, they trap you into signing the contract. I can't even begin to list the amount of things that costed us our mental peace and they could care least about elderly and volunerable people. Avoid if u can!

Mechack was very lovely and considerate on the phone and arranged a viewing for me on the same day. I'm yet to sign and deal with Leaders long term but so far this has been refreshing compared to other letting agencies so far.

Most helpful agent I’ve spoken to across multiple different agencies. Mechak is a legend, gave me the time to ask as many questions and went above and beyond with helping me view a property. Amazing customer service and shouldn’t go unrecognised!

Can't organize a viewing

Recently asked about letting two properties in Manchester and was told they were unable to book two viewings on the same day. Fair enough, but when I went to the first one they were denied entry to the property and sent me back home pretty much with a shoulder shrug and a sorry. I'd driven 2hrs from Derby to attend the viewing so I was pretty annoyed.

The following day I rang them up asking them to confirm that the viewing for the second property would actually be going ahead (they said it would) and while I was at it booked a repeat viewing for the first property on the same day, something I had initially been told wasn't possible.

On the morning of the two viewings they rang me up to tell me that the viewing for the second property was cancelled because they'd been denied access to the property, when they asked me to confirm I'd be present for the second viewing I asked for some time to decide but they told me no and that I had to make a decision then and there. Of course I told them no and that I'd find another letting agent who can actually do their job

TL:DR this lot couldn't organize a pi** up in a brewery and have no respect for their customers

It is such a shame because the property is great but Leaders have caused us problems at every stage. They left us without any contact for 2 months and only got back in touch to ask us to pay rent. They wouldn't give us our keys until well after we had started paying rent because of necessary documentation that they could have requested months prior. They only seem to have one person who knows the answer to the various questions. Also, the keys they gave us took about half an hour to work in the locks and it didn't seem to be a concern to them at all. It seems as though when they want your money they are quick to reply and eager to help, but when you need actual help they just do the basic minimum and take a long time to do it. Such a shame but I will not look at Leaders' properties again.

Awful - avoid!

Do not use Leaders and certainly don't use their recommended third parties e.g. Lifetime Legal.

I have used Leaders to let a flat twice (they convinced me the first time that mistakes wouldn't happen again), and for selling a property.

In all three instances they were terrible.

Both lets were completed with zero communication with me. I was chasing for weeks both times for Check Out, Check In reports etc. This delayed me in resolving issues and sorting deposits for new tenants, who I was trying to help settle into their new home.

The sale was so bad I raised a complaint. But despite having it in writing (from an agent at Leaders themselves) that there had been unnecessary delays for weeks caused by their partners, they accepted no responsibility.

They sent a poorly written letter with the sort of grammar you'd expect to see at a primary school.

In short, they use third parties for everything, take the commission from those third parties, and do not help with the process from there or do anything expedient when those third parties are awful.

I was strongly advised to use "their solicitors" for example. It turns out that - unlike other agents - they don't have any solicitors. They have a relationship with a third party called Lifetime Legal who find solicitors for their clients.

Lifetime Legal were shocking. With both me AND the buyer we had to start paperwork again, because they'd set up records in wrong names, or because the solicitor they found was wholly inappropriate based on basic information everyone had at the start (i.e. the country the buyer was from).

There is much I could write about from months and months of unnecessary stress, but I do not wish to spend anymore of my time wasting it on Leaders or the likes thereof.

So just avoid!

Incredibly poor lack of communication throughout the letting process!

We are moving in next week, but have had to at every step of the way chase the letting agent for basic information, such as simply confirming whether or not the landlord had seen our bid for the property. To confirming that they received details, that we had passed tenancy inspections, and with 6 days to go we don't have a tenancy agreement or the details to pay the deposit!

The team don't answer the phone or emails, when they do, they practically invent the information on the spot just to get you off the phone.

Other reviews have said all they care about is money, honestly I dont think they care full stop. The fact that we have had to chase them to do their jobs just to get them to take our money is insane.

If your thinking about leaders, I would say think again, for tenants, for landlords, it's an agency that is either heavily understaffed or just stupidly bad.

We have been in our apartment since 2020, and we are very happy with Leaders and in particular, our property manager, Rosie Turner. Rosey is very quick to respond to any queries we have, resolve any issues and keep us updated with information from the building management company. Thank you.

We have a property that is fully managed by Leaders. Since Feb we requested for a mid term inspection report as the current tenancy ends in Aug. It is now June and we still have no response from them whether the inspection is done or not despite numerous emails and calls.

Time and time again Leaders have failed us. Every time I am the one having to contact Leaders so they can give an update. At no point have they even attempted to notify us the status. When we do get hold of someone, for some reason unexplained, we randomly get assigned with a different property managers who none have a clue what is happening.

The lack of organisation and communication is really poor, one minute they say the inspection has been scheduled, next minute they say it has not been booked cos the property manager has been off ill! Lots of broken promises! Wonder what excuse they will come up with next time!

I had the unfortunate experience of renting through Leaders in Manchester from 2023 to 2024, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Throughout my entire tenancy, I encountered a lot of issues that were either ignored or handled in the most incompetent manner possible.

First, there was a persistent leak in my bedroom that I reported repeatedly for over 9 months. Despite my continuous efforts to get it fixed, both Leaders and the building management company, Stevenson Whyte, ignored my emails and phone calls and when they did respond it was done in a rude, passive aggressive manner. It wasn't until I involved Salford council that they responded appropriately, and by then, the condition of the room had deteriorated to the point where I had no choice but to leave the property.

Every other problem I brought to Leaders' attention was either brushed aside or sluggishly addressed. Inside the property, numerous issues impacted my living experience, including a malfunctioning washing machine, fridge, freezer, bathroom fan, balcony doors, and a persistent leak in my bedroom.

I waited for months, consistently asking for the inventory list, only to finally receive it and discover that it highlighted the non-functional smoke alarms and pointed out several areas where the cleanliness of the place fell short, with mould present in some areas as well.

Leaders had also changed our point of contact within Leaders twice without bothering to inform us. This lack of communication was a recurring theme throughout my tenancy, with emails frequently going unanswered and repairs taking a long time to be resolved, if they were addressed at all.

They are extremely unprofessional. I was met with rudeness and indifference whenever I raised concerns, and on more than one occasion, I was threatened with drastic measures such as having my water shut off or having my keys confiscated if I didn't comply with their unreasonable demands.

It's clear that Leaders prioritises profit over the well-being of their tenants. The fact that they failed to disclose longstanding issues with the building (City Lofts) speaks volumes about their disregard for transparency and basic decency.

In summary, renting through Leaders was an awful and stressful experience that I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Process of renting a flat made very easy, Aimee and the team were always very quick to respond to any queries I had.

Absolutely DIRE, would be zero stars if possible.
Terrible experience with Rosey Turner, Samantha Elliott and Melika Boyd Hamilton.
REPEATEDLY (for a year) flagged an unusable mattress, covered in stains that stank of sh1te to this agency as well as a dangerously unstable glass table (set to collapse at the slightest touch) and have been totally ignored.
I’ve never experienced ignorance like it from any other company, I chase and chase and chase to just be ignored.
I flagged these issues the week I moved in (over a year ago). I’ve repeatedly chased since and yet here we are. I’ve had to move these items to a separate room and keep the door closed (the glass table is a serious concern as I have a child and the agency know I have a child. I have to make a conscious effort to keep my child away from this table in case it collapses on him), this has rendered one room totally unusable throughout the tenancy.
The best I’ve ever had out of any of those named above is “we’ll mention it to the landlord” then nothing, just ignorance no matter how much I chase.
I feel the dangerous table in particular transcends this as it has the potential to cause serious harm. An unresponsive landlord is no excuse whatsoever to turning a blind eye to dangerous items in a property.
Worst customer service ever, agency doesn’t care, couldn’t recommend less.
AVOID!!!
