Very happy with my studies at GoEast. I was paired with an excellent teacher, the schools director is also very helpful and prompt with support. Online materials are well laid out and comprehensive, hard copy texts books and workbooks are useful and accessible too. Tuition cost is a combination of time with your teacher/class and the educational materials; a helpful set up to allow the student to work at the pace that works best for them.

i have been studying with Go East on and off for 3 years (my schedule sometimes necessitates breaks) and without fail, every teacher has been extremely professional and knowledgeable. That being said, my current teacher, Jaxson, is exemplary. Not only one of my best Chinese teachers, but one of the best teachers that I have encountered, and I am 55, with a masters degree. His knowledge, patience, and the dedication to tailor each lesson to student needs is beyond rare. In fact, were it not for HIS commitment, I might have given up.

OMG 🥰🥰🥰 I’m so happy I found GoEast especially in times of Coronavirus. I wanted to go to China this year but it’s still impossible so I came across their Website and decoded to try the free course (30min). Lucy was nice and we had a great time, she checked my level and presented the online classes. I registered right away and well, I’m a happy student and customer. My teacher (Danni) is a doll 😍😍, we get along really well, the courses are structured, she answers all my weird questions hahaha and I learn a lot about China and the culture. We share and document where she writes down absolutely everything we talk about in class so that I can review and memorize the most important grammar points, vocabulary and expressions.

I would 100% recommend GoEast, it's good value for money, a great investment that I absolutely don’t regret. I have improved a lot and also know what part of the language to practice more. I’ve been self-studying the language for years and I needed a feedback and a tutor. I will definitely book more classes next year, I hope it would be in China this time😉😉

Great teacher and great syllabus! You get to learn more than just regular textbook material, which is probably useful if you don't want to sound awkward in real life. The material is thorough, but also fun and engaging. My teacher is very nice and accommodating and I'm having a great time learning with GoEast.

My experience was GoEast was excellent. The learning materials online are very well done and help to prepare for the classes. The teachers are kind, patient, and very helpful to understand grammar or vocabulary. I do not regret my choice to learn GoEast!

In 2019 I went to GoEast, I originally came to do the Fast Track HSK level 1, then I extended to the HSK 1 & 2.
I felt so welcomed by GoEast, I arrived for New Year and Máo Ruì / Wáng Róng kindly invited me to join the festivities at the Yangpu Campus.
I started class the following week at the Shanghai French Concession Campus and the lessons are great, I was in a small class with Sarah from the USA & then later joined by Amandine from France. We had Dana and Winona as our Teachers, they had tremendous patience with myself. They both had great teaching methods with some homework assignments.
We also as went out for Lunch as a class to try ordering foods, drinks, general questions and conversation, everything is extremely well organized.

The Course came with the HSK 1 Workbook and Classbook, A bunch of Note books from GoEast & Pens :)

It is worth every penny and I hope many more take the opportunity of visiting and learning this amazing language. I have told friends that even if you are going for a week then book online and learn a few basics before travelling as it will change your experience.
If they can teach me they can teach anyone,

I've studied Mandarin at several different schools. Once I found GoEast, I stopped jumping from school to school because GoEast offers what I was looking for all along: practical courses that actually help you improve your speaking and listening skills. Though I had been studying Chinese for a while when I started at GoEast, I couldn't speak well because my courses at other schools were too focused on copying words and sentences down but not actually using them. At other schools, I would go to class without knowing what we'd learn that day, so I'd spend my time in class focusing on listening to the teacher and learning new words without actually using them in a practical way. At GoEast, I can learn new words and grammar structures BEFORE my class using GoEast's online materials, meaning that class time can be used to correct mistakes and actually practice using what I've learned. Moreover, GoEast's materials are extremely well organized and not overwhelming. The amount of content covered in one class is perfect. GoEast is the only Mandarin school I've attended that I feel has actually helped me communicate in Mandarin.

I’ve been taking classes at GoEast for about a year now and have really enjoyed studying Chinese with Vivian! I think the courses and lessons are structured really well and this helps me stay disciplined with my individual studies in between lessons. Vivian gets the balance just right between pushing us when necessary while also being very sweet and supportive. I feel that I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of the courses given that the groups for classes are small (2-4 people) and you get access to very useful online materials. Having now finished the HSK2 and Hanzi courses, I will continue studying HSK3 at GoEast.

I enrolled in GoEast Mandarin with an unusual request: I was going to be traveling in rural China soon, and needed a crash course in survival Mandarin that was tailored to my project's vocabulary needs. The school was very accommodating to my schedule and customization request, and my instructor, Vinny, was smart, innovative, encouraging, and a joy to work with. I highly recommend this language school.

I begin with "ZERO" in Mandarin. I totally started learn Mandarin with GoEast Shanghai in 2018. GoEast makes small classes in each level that makes full efficiency for students. Activities, people, teacheres and environment make GoEast be more than language school. Only one year after began with GoEast, my Chinese can help my dad to do business with Chinese partners. I think that can explain my Chinese progression.

After I moving back to my home country, I kept on learning with GoEast's online one-to-one classes.

If you are looking to learn Mandarin, GoEast should be one of you choice.

I started in-school classes in GoEast Shanghai in 2018 with terrible sentence structures and vocabulary but with the wonderful guidance and push of GoEast teachers, my chinese level has improved SO MUCH! I am now at business level Chinese, studying online! I have been studying with GoEast for 3 years and they have always been so flexible with my constantly changing schedule and always adaptable to the goals I want to achieve. The best thing about GoEast is they understand that every student learns differently and our teachers adapt to that as well.

I’ve been studying at GoEast for over 2 years now and during this time I have tried ad hoc classes at other schools and they have never once come close to the quality of a GoEast class. When I first started learning at GoEast, I had already passed HSK3. After my assessment, GoEast told me that I should repeat the HSK3 course because my speaking was not up to standard. At the time, I was really angsty about this decision but I honestly think that was one of the best decisions for my Chinese learning progress. GoEast will be honest with you and is really the ideal school for anyone serious about learning Chinese.

First-rate Chinese Language School
I have been studying Chinese for over 12 years now, and started taking regular lessons at GoEast about three and a half years ago. I have done lessons with them both in-person and online, always in one-on-one classes. I continue to take lessons there because they took the time to find the right teacher for me, who would fit into my schedule (I am US-based, and wanted to take lessons in the US daytime—this is not always possible when dealing with China-based schools). They are very flexible and are willing to accommodate whatever teaching style/focus the student prefers. Learning Chinese is a long-term commitment, so it’s important to find a school or teacher that will work for you over the long run. GoEast does that job for me.

-good for people living in China, but hard for people living in Europe due to time shift unless you have all day off, which can be on your weekend for sure.
-quite expensive also- even I wouldn't mind.
-the course itself isn't an ideal format also cause each section is very slowly in progress and its hard to jump from one point to another- you must always listen to the entire monologue again once you started . and try to find something back you have recently learned !? you won't find it quickly.. so its not as effective as u´d wish . its still best with the old fashion style cause u can decide your own speed
- it took very long time to get the money transfer done from Germany to China which is why there was long delay in course start. The new transfer regulations from China do obviously complicate the payment process.

It is expensive - as I paid around 50 Euro each 50 min - the course was actually closed by you as every hsk unit must be finished within 3 month . After that the credit money will be automatically confiscated by your school, so I ended up with having paid 50 euro each lesson

I studied Chinese at GoEast for 8 months and the whole experience has been an extremely positive one. I had learned Chinese elsewhere prior to GoEast and they used a placement test to place me, whilst also listening to my previous learning experiences, my concerns, and my expectations of the course. I've always felt very welcome at GoEast and the environment is open and encouraging. My teaher Jennie, has shown immense patience with me over the months, especially on days where I didn't do my homework, and she usually adds in extra words to the lessons that come up in conversation, helping me to express myself on that particular topic. I'd also like to mention how friendly all the other teachers are, and how happy they are to help you with anything that you need. Another thing is that GoEast hold a lot of differnt events through the year and students are always encouraged to come along and try something new. Thank you to everyone at GoEast!

I’ve been in China for the last 8 years. After studying Chinese in Fudan university, and attend to different Chinese classes and hiring out the years, I can say with confidence that there is no better institution than GoEast.
I take private/advance classes with Lynn 老师，you can hardly find some one as good anywhere in the city!

I've started a one-to-one online course 4 months ago and I'm really impressed by my progress. I had 'zero' knowledge of Mandarin and now I can understand and speak a little bit. My teacher is simply amazing. She has not only superb human qualities but also an infinite patience. I fell really lucky for having her. There is still a long long way, but I'm sure at the end of the way I'll succeed. I strongly recommend GoEast if you plan to learn Mandarin in a hassle-free way.

I started studying with GoEast when I was living in Shanghai 2017. I enjoyed the small group classes and the community that the school had built around it.

After moving back to Finland I've kept on learning with GoEast's online one-on-one classes. They're great for me, tailored for my needs and very effective. I work irregular hours and also have a kid to look after, so being able to arrange the lessions flexibly has also been very good.
