My wife and I completed the HSK 1 & 2 courses at GoEast. We learned a lot and had lots of fun. Our teacher, Bei Bei, was great. She made the classes very enjoyable. Everybody at GoEast are very sweet and helpful and they make you feel welcomed to Shanghai and China!

I took the Goeast one on one classes summer before starting my masters in the fall. After not having been in China for almost 5 years my Chinese language abilities had gone down significantly, but Goeast help get me back into shape.

The one on one classes helped me focus on the parts of my Chinese that really needed attention and getting me prepared for life in China as a masters student. I could go at my own pace and whenever I needed extra attention on a subject I had more than I could ask for. Having this time with Goeast when I focused almost entirely on improving my Chinese helped me to form and develop invaluable Chinese studying habits and methods that I’ve carried with me to this day, many of which wouldn’t have been possible without their help. It was a perfect sprint before the marathon that is having a long-term life in China.

Especially for those who place studying Chinese as a high priority, the Goeast classes are second to none. Wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

Everybody knows how is challenging learn Chinese, I mean , is a subject who needs a lot of practice and dedication; But the Goeast teachers are entitled and motivated to do this task.

Teachers like Maria , Winona, Lynn and Kathy, make the learning journey even more fun and enjoyable; they always bring some nice activities into and out of the classroom, like: day-a-day routine dialogues , watching movies, little tour around the neighborhood to learn the culture,KTV sessions etc.

In conclusion, I would like to say , the learning process depends on you and the teachers will do their best to motivate you and make feel confident to try your best .

I have been learning Chinese with GoEast for about 2.5 years now. I started with an online HSK 4 course when I was in Shanghai and continued on with intermediate speaking courses once I am back to Europe. My last course was a 1:1 due to my tight schedule. All 3 courses were amazing in my opinion, the teachers are great and they encourage us to speak more and to slowly learn to use what we have just learned in the class. The teachers are all very understanding and accommodating.

I only issue is because there is not enough material that you can download, that you can quickly go through when you are offline or when you just want to quickly check upon something. The only material you can download is the listening text script.
There are more online read only materials of course, although some of them are outdated and therefore differ to the one actually used in the class by the teacher. This makes it also difficult to prepare a class beforehand.

Overall, I highly recommend GoEast for learning Chinese remotely.

I have been taking classes at Go East for about half a year. The classes are primarily speaking-focused, though they offer Hanzi-specific classes. I find that speaking in a group is very helpful. The teachers are all very outgoing, enthusiastic and encouraging. Additionally, the teachers are very accepting of people with different backgrounds.

Arrived in Shanghai at HSK3 level, I passed HSK4 within 7 months thanks to Go East! Teachers are knowledgeable and friendly, plus the school is very conveniently located. They also have great online learning resources.

I have been studying Mandarin with GoEast for over 1 1/2 years and have enjoyed my experience with everyone. The sessions have been fun and helped me to read, speak and write in Mandarin. Cherry is the best teacher in the whole world and I look forward to learning in her weekly classes.

I have been with GoEast for about six months and can highly recommend this school. The administration is professional, the teaching is superb, and the overall vibe amongst the staff is so positive and fun that it makes just being there very enjoyable.

10/10 school in every regard. Teachers, support staff, social events. I feel very welcome every time I show up to class and everyone goes above and beyond.

Mandarin is not easy to learn but GoEast makes it fun.the lessons are well structured and the teachers very good and friendly and patient.I did reading 汉字 as well as speaking , both really interesting and worthwhile.The free workshop fan decoration was great fun and bonding the teachers and their students.

Special thanks to Teacher Cherry for being such a wonderful and dedicated teacher. She has connected incredibly well with my daughter, who truly enjoys her lessons. We even considered looking for more affordable classes, but my daughter insisted she wanted to stay with Teacher Cherry, and I completely understand why.

Teacher Cherry makes a genuine effort to understand my daughter and goes above and beyond by remembering the names of my daughter’s dolls, subtly incorporating them into conversations to teach Chinese vocabulary in a fun and engaging way. This thoughtful approach allows my daughter to absorb the language naturally and without boredom. It’s clear that Teacher Cherry has mastered both the art and the science of teaching young children.

I truly appreciate how Teacher Cherry has been able to foster a warm and encouraging learning environment for my daughter. It’s a rare skill, and we’re fortunate to have found someone so skilled and caring.

I’ve been attending classes in GoEast for about a year now. I started at HSK 1 level and now I’m attending an HSK 3 course, through it all the material and teaching methods remained on a high-level allowing me to understand everything. Without the school’s help my Chinese level definitely wouldn’t be at the level that it’s at right now. I can definitely recommend it

The classes are well-structured, the difficulty is progressing at perfect pace. The teachers are all very kind, patient, and most of all incredibly competent. I have been learning Chinese with GoEast for a year and a half. What I like most is the personalised learning they offer; working through the HSK syllabus with lessons covering pronunciation and tones practise, vocabulary, grammar, reading of characters and dialogue, but also making it applicable to your situation. My teacher, Jessica, got to know that I am also a dancer and helped me focus on dancing vocabulary so that I can attend dance classes in Chinese here in Shanghai. Lastly, I value the friendship I have gained with her along my Chinese learning journey. I still have a long way to go but I am enjoying this road with GoEast!

GoEast mandarin school is a great space for learning. The courses are relevant, engaging and lots of fun. There is a good balance between learning new things and practicing your chinese speaking. The teachers are very skilled, friendly and very helpful along your learning journey. GoEast also organizes many fun and interactive events throughout the year.

i am enrolled in HSK 1 and i am very happy with my experience so far. Go East is very good place to learn chinesse online and offline set up. The teacher is very patient with my learning pace and always knows how to outstretch you every single lesson. As i do not have always time for reviewing the LMS online is always there for catch up or learn in advance if time is not an issue for you. Highly recommend to everyone at any level.

I love studying Mandarin at GoEast! Studying Mandarin at GoEast is FUN!! GoEast’s small class sizes, engaging lessons, and highly responsive teachers have really accelerated my language learning. What do I mean by “highly responsive teachers”? Well, for example, several of my classmates and I were beginning our summer travels a few lessons before the end of our in-person course last spring, so our teacher postponed the final two lessons until the fall course, which we’ll use for review to get ready for the next level. Another example: whenever a student has to miss class, our teacher brings a webcam into the classroom and sets up a zoom call so you don’t have to miss out due to travel or illness. And the most important example of responsive teaching: our teacher is very skilled at deftly answering students’ questions (some *ahem* MANY of which may be lesson-adjacent or even unrelated to the lesson *sorry*) while still managing to complete the lesson of the day. But what do I really love about GoEast? Why do I endure an hour on the metro going to and coming from class twice a week? Because GoEast is a welcoming community. The classes are fun! There is a lot of laughter at GoEast - you hear it as soon as you walk in the door; the teachers are chatting and laughing with one another while getting ready for lessons. You hear laughter coming from the classrooms while you’re waiting for your lesson to begin. And you hear A LOT of laughter during your lesson as you and your classmates practice the lesson’s vocabulary and grammar in your class conversations. Studying Mandarin at GoEast is FUN (did I already say that??)!! Even the videos on the GoEast online learning platform are fun - the dialogue for Wang Xiao Mai and Liu Ai Li in the GoEast video lessons is always amusing and sometimes hilarious. I’m a teacher myself, so I know that when students are having fun studying, they are learning effectively. I highly recommend GoEast for your Mandarin studies!
