I've been attending classes at this school for 4 months now and have no complaints. The quality of teaching is great and my mandarin level has improved significantly since joining this school. I have 3 lessons a week, each lesson being roughly 3 hours long. This is more than enough for me to notice a great improvement in my mandarin skills. The location is also very central, just off Nanjing East Road. Highly recommend.

I have been already more than 5 months with this school and wouldn't choose any other. I started from the beginning and continue with my studies.

1. The most important - all the teachers I studied with, are great professionals. The quality of studies is very high.

2. The school provides a lot of flexibility about the type of courses and programme you can take. It makes attempts to place everyone into the right levels and groups.

3. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. The directors, teachers, students became a community with very nice social events.

4. The location is great, very central, very convenient.

I definitely recommend this school.

The registration was fairly easy, frank was really helpful and the courses start off very well, but I feel like some where it’s adjusted to the best students level which mightt not necessarily be a beginner’s level.

I took a complete beginners class, and Alex, the teacher, is really great. Patient and you can ask as many questions as you want. I feel I learnt so much I just a couple of weeks, can have conversations with strangers, and finally unlock the full cultural experience through improving language skills. The school helped me immensely when applying for study visa, everyone is very welcome and kind. I would 100% recommend.

I’ve been studying at SN Mandarin School for a month now, attending classes three times a week for 3.5 hours each session, together with seven other students who are also au pairs. Learning Chinese here has been such an exciting experience; every class feels engaging and productive.

Our teacher is incredibly patient and kind, always taking time to explain everything clearly, sometimes several times, which is so important for us beginners. She uses real-life examples and encourages us to practice speaking, which helps us build confidence gradually.

What makes my experience unique is that I’m learning alongside other au pairs who share similar experiences of living in China. This creates a friendly, supportive environment where we can learn together and motivate each other both in and outside the classroom.

For anyone considering joining SN Mandarin, I’d highly recommend it! The school is well-organised, the teachers are professional and caring, and the lessons offer a great balance of grammar, speaking, and cultural understanding. It’s the perfect place to start your Chinese learning journey, especially if you’re new to the language or living in China for the first time.

I had a wonderful teacher who taught me a lot about the language and the culture. Every lesson was engaging and easy to follow. Each month there was an activity that was organized by the school. I 100% recommend this school for learning chinese.

I really miss my education at this school and want to come again. I started my studies from scratch and attended lectures for 1.5 months. I arrived on a student visa. The school provides the necessary documents for it in advance and there were no problems. Its employee helps you with any question by email, and also upon arrival in the office they are always happy to help you. The location of the school is ideal - 15 minutes walk from Nanjing street and 5 minutes from the metro. At first we were in the building, which is located 10 minutes from the metro, but the number of students in the class increased and we changed the building and the room to a larger one. The school has free wifi, there are delicious food nearby. I also miss steamed dumplings in one of them:)) Our teacher Linda explained everything very clearly and with interesting examples, she is a professional in her field. Special thanks to the director of the school Frank, who is interested in each student and tries to help everyone himself. And thanks to the school, my impressions of the city were more interesting and more authentic. We had a tea meditation and a master class on making traditional sweets. Overall, Thank you SN Mandarin!

My time with the school was amazing. The school puts you in a small group with people of the same chinese level as yours and you can always change the group if it's to hard or easy for you. The teachers are all super friendly and motivated and always prepare well structured lessons in advance. A part of it is review, new gramma and practise. In the end you will get some tasks to do at home but it is up to you how much you want to do. A very important part of the lesson is the speaking part. Each groupmember can share their experiences in China (in chinese). And the teacher will also teach some basic knowledge about cultural activities or basic life in China. So in the end the group will be like a little family and a save space. Making mistakes is part of learning process and everyone will support each other. Moreover the school even offers some cultural activities like calligraphy, chinese weddings, paper cutting... The school also has a very good location only a 10min walk away from Nanjing road where you can get lunch with your friends after class.

I started learning Mandarin Chinese almost from scratch at SN Mandarin School and achieved HSK 3 level by the end of the 6-month program. Classes were held five times per week, three hours per day, following the HSK textbooks. We also had speaking classes using HSK speaking course books. I liked how these classes provided an extra opportunity to focus on speaking, drilling words and tones, and learning real-life expressions used by natives. Additionally, we practiced a mock HSK speaking exam alongside the listening and reading HSK exam, which I found valuable.

Our course teacher, Alex, is super friendly, helpful, and provides clear, detailed explanations of language points. He is also patient and organised, making sure all students understand the material. A big thank you to Teacher Alex for everything—you're an amazing teacher!

The location of SN Mandarin school is good, lots of things to see and do nearby. The school was also flexible with making the classes fit my schedule and accommodating if any problems/difficulties arose. Moreover, the school organised cultural activities that provided insight into various aspects of Chinese culture, including traditional festivals like Chinese New Year, Qingming, and Dragon Boat Festivals, as well as activities related to Shanghai, such as historical city walks.

Overall, I would definitely recommend SN Mandarin School to anyone looking to learn Mandarin Chinese in a fun, flexible, and effective environment!

I recently completed my HSK 1 Chinese course at SN Mandarin, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The manager, Mr. Frank, was incredibly supportive and provided the flexibility I needed to accommodate my schedule. My teacher, Joy Laoshi, was exceptional. She made the learning process very engaging and effective, answered all my queries, and kept the classes lively and enjoyable with her boundless energy, which kept me even more interested in the lessons.

Also, the school's location is extremely convenient, being right next to the subway station, which made commuting hassle-free. Cherry on top, the prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend SN Mandarin to anyone looking to learn Chinese!
