Robbing my children of hot water
Great broadband service, but appalling customer care and mis-selling.
The internet itself was great as seen in my previous reviews, but customer service has been a nightmare. Due to my landlord selling up, I had to move into council housing. Before renewing my 2-year contract, I explicitly asked the sales agent if I could cancel without penalty if they couldn't provide service at my new address. I was assured it "wouldn't be an issue."
After moving, they couldn't supply broadband to the new home. Instead of honouring what was agreed, they tried to hit me with a £700 early termination fee: money I simply don't have as a low-income family struggling to cover basics.
As a workaround, they advised me to take a 300 Mbps mobile SIM router, assuring me "not to worry" if it failed. The router averages barely 3 Mbps, 100 times slower than promised. When calling back, support agents just argued with me.
A formal complaint was submitted 2 weeks ago with zero response. I’m currently stuck paying for a useless connection that directly impacts whether we can afford basic living costs. Absolute lack of empathy or accountability.

We have managed to get the £700 fee waivered for the original contract, now we're working with Cuckoo to sort the new contract they forced us on, because we want to end that without fees too.
