Car oil leak
Bought a car on the 19th of Sept.. a week later noticed lots and lots of oil on my driveway.
Took the car down to my local mechanic he produced a detailed reports of problems and things that aren't right.
Contacted carworld that day and brought the car back to them the next day.
They could not find any problems apart from one and they said they repaired it, I asked about the other faults they stated again nothing was found.
They still have my car ( three weeks so far ) they do not call back, you need to call them, when I asked for the manager nothing back no emails no comms.
Honestly do yourself a favour DO NOT buy a car from these clowns. Avoid them at all cost absolute shocking poor service and comms.

Avoid CarWorld Peterborough – A Cautionary Tale
If you're looking for a "great deal" on a car that breaks down within two weeks, costs you hundreds (if not thousands) in repairs, and comes with customer service that borders on hostile — this is the place for you.
I visited CarWorld Peterborough in October 2024 to view a VW T-Roc. During the test drive, I noticed the clutch felt unusually high. I raised this with the salesperson, who simply said their technician had checked it and all was fine. I declined that vehicle — in hindsight, I should have walked away completely.
They showed me a second T-Roc. This one seemed fine on the surface: no warning lights, oil looked okay. I’m no mechanic, but I did my due diligence. I purchased the car. Within two weeks, the engine management light came on.
I called CarWorld and they requested I drive back up so they can sort out the issues, I also asked for a courtesy car, as I live in Walsall and needed to get back for work. I was met with resistance and had to fight for it. Eventually, they agreed and had diagnosed a DPF issue with the car, which they "regenerated."
Just two weeks later, the engine light came on again. Same issue. Same process. Another regeneration.
Then, around Christmas — the light came back again. By the time the holidays ended, my warranty had expired. In January, the car wouldn't start at all. A £160 bill later for a new battery, it started again — only for the warning light to return a month later.
One garage quoted £3,000 for a DPF replacement. The DPF on my car is cracked!! A Volkswagen specialist later confirmed it was actually the EGR valve.
I had also paid for RAC Platinum Plus warranty. If the garage technician at VAGCAR hadn't argued with RAC, I would have paid over £700 for the work — thankfully I only paid around £50. Still, it shouldn't have come to that.
The Volkswagen specialist also showed me the state of the pollen filter, which they called “criminal” to leave in the car. Despite having paperwork claiming a recent service, it clearly hadn’t been done properly.
And now, 5 days after that repair, the engine light is back on again. I'm still paying for diagnostics, wasting time, and juggling transport.
You think buying from a dealer protects you — it doesn’t. CarWorld Peterborough has shown a complete lack of quality control, customer care, or long-term responsibility.
Avoid this company.

Having enjoyed an unaccompanied test drive a few days ago I collected my Smart Forfour today.
The car was exactly what I was looking for, was well presented and I was guided through the sales process by Wiki. With no pressure at any stage, her friendly efficiency and infectious enthusiasm made the whole experience a genuine pleasure.

Terrible customer service, faulty car
I found a car on Auto trader being advertised for sale, I went to the dealership, i was told a certain price I’d be given for my vehicle in part exchange I took the car for a test drive and the battery warning light came on, I was lied to by the salesman telling me “it’s a common fault we’ve liaised with Mercedes and the batteries are fine” naively I went on and bought the car, despite them going back on the original price I’d offered despite me telling them before I went to the dealership I’d be driving 2 hours some wouldn’t want the price to change and being assured it wouldn’t. I went to put something in the boot and noticed there was no parcel shelf but was told ‘oh that will be reflected because of that’ I drove the car home and noticed it had no air conditioning! The car needed a service so 2 weeks after buying it I took the car that was now whistling was taken into a garage to service the vehicle only to be shown photos and told how the engine had all occupied, the clutch cable eroded, the air conditioning seized up, the electric window not working! There had also been proof of a rat living in the under try so they couldn’t rule out if any electrics had been damaged, and the auxiliary battery was faulty causing the warning light! I emailed carworld and was ignored for 2 weeks, I was then told to ring RAC as it could come under warranty but the car was ‘fit for purpose’ as it drove! I rang the RAC and was told it wasn’t things that were covered but they agreed and that car work should take some accountability for selling a car in this condition! They sent an email on my behalf and I then had to ring the service department back and was told to bring the vehicle in and they would have a look at it. I was told they would send me details of where to take it, I again didn’t hear from them with this information and I had to ring them! I took the car in and wasn’t spoken to for 3 hours, I had to ask for an update where I was told ‘we was trying to get it all done today” I told them I wouldn’t be waiting as this was not a one day fix and was given a Courtesy car to get home. I then had to drive back a week later to collect my car which had been repaired and I was advised I would get a
Vehicle report detailing the repairs and I am still waiting. I have had no apology, no compensation or gesture of good will for the inconvenience caused by this, the customer service was terrible. I would definitely not recommend buying from here.

No hassle no following no pestering. We were free to take as long as we liked. We took it for a test drive. We spoke to Shakeel as there was a problem with the car. Bought a car for £12000
Bought a car for £12000. Was told it was serviced and MOT and it's a great car as had loads of work done to it. For then 2 days later a powertrain light come on and the car has power issues as well as battery voltage issues. Now they need to 'investivate' as asked for a refund but won't look at the car say they are busy and no available slots. Can't speak to a manager. Advised under the consumer act they have 14 days to give me a refund. They don't care and will have to take legal action.
