An honest, near 6 month review for Carworld.
I purchased a Vauxhall Grandland X on mid November 2025. The car developed faults within two days, meaning it was effectively sold in this condition. While some early issues were addressed very quickly by the service team (including ABS/EPR, wheel axel faults), further problems continued.
On 10 December, the vehicle went into limp mode far from home and had to be recovered by a breakdown service, who confirmed faults with documented diagnostic evidence. I attempted to reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as I had owned it for just under a month, but this was refused because Carworld said they could not later reproduce the fault.
Over Christmas, I was threatened with daily storage charges unless I collected the vehicle, which added unnecessary stress and left me little choice but to take it back.
In March 2026, the car was inspected again for unresolved clutch/brake pedal issues. A near‑side inner rack joint was replaced, but the reported issue was not found, and I was then advised by Carworld to go to another garage or use the warranty instead of having it re‑examined by them. Promised manager call-backs related to this didn't happen, inspection reports were not provided despite multiple requests, and communication dropped off as I approached six months of ownership.
More recently, a safety‑related electronic parking brake fault was reported. Despite notifying Carworld, and following up the same day, no manager contacted me and no repair was arranged leaving me to fix the costly issue myself to keep the car safe and roadworthy for me and my children.
Carworld have now shirked responsibility to address issues with me and my car despite the issues. People should carefully consider whether to buy from this company or not.
Remember, the Consumer Rights Act exists to protect buyers, especially when faults arise early, but in my experience those rights had to be pushed for far more than they should.
"No quibbles refund" is a LIE
We paid the £99 reservation fee for Octavia. When we test drove it, the car had many warning lights, very dodgy brakes, and didn't feel safe. They said they would sort it if we bought the car, and if we paid an EXTRA £200 for a full service!
Surely they should have the car safe and ready before test driving?!
Anyway, I said no thanks and asked for a refund of the £99 reservation fee.
When you choose not to buy, they then bring a manager over to try to convince you otherwise. But again, I said, "No thanks, refund, please." Which they reluctantly agreed to.
After 10 days, 4 different phone calls with 4 different people saying they would sort it, we have FINALLY had the £99 refunded.
Below is what they say on their site:
"THE £99 RESERVATION FEE IS FULLY REFUNDABLE SUBJECT TO VIEWING. BY PLACING A £99 RESERVATION, THIS SECURES YOU THE VEHICLE, TAKING IT OFF SALE. IF FOR ANY REASON YOU HAPPEN TO CHANGE YOUR MIND UPON VIEWING, WE WILL REFUND THIS BACK NO QUIBBLES."
"No quibbles" is definitely not true.
To be honest, I feel like they make it purposely difficult, hoping that you just give up so they can keep the money.
Faulty car is less than 2 weeks old
I have sent multiple follow-up emails to this company since getting engine faults in my car two days ago and having frustrating conversations with their after sales team who are disclaiming all responsibility for the faults.
The fault warning started 10 days after purchase so the engine / battery etc was clearly in a poor state at the point of sale.
Awful company to deal with. Don’t care about statutory rights and have outright lied to me about several matters on the phone.
I will be sending frequent updates as I progress a court claim to get my money back.
Avoid this company at all costs. I wish I had known to check that a dealership was part of a motor ombudsman before buying (which these guys tellingly aren’t). I will never make that mistake again.

Said it was MOTd. Practically no oil or coolant in, windscreen wipers had to be replaced. Then AA approved garage pointed out it had been in accident. Panels not alligned. Spraying evidence ETC after taking to bodywork specialist. Said manager would call back at least 5x. Nobody called. Sent right to reject and now final letter before court. Still nothing. This dealership should be closed down.
