Do not apply here. They will charge you a $500.00 fee and call it a "rate lock" and that is not the case. They are charging you $500.00 for a loan process. Then they do not follow up and they have trouble getting appraisals for rural areas. They are rude and dishonest. I am suing to get my $500 back. Also, their rates are higher than most. Stay away from these predators.

Do not buy the hype—just a data trap with terrible execution
I came to Better Mortgage through a platform that highly recommended them, and it has been one of the worst financial mistakes I’ve made. This company relies entirely on flashy marketing and automated "convenience," but their actual execution and customer handling are deeply flawed. Dealing with them was a massive headache, and the service did not deliver on what was promised.
What makes it worse is that they hide behind partner platforms like Credit Karma to siphon up your personal information and financial data, yet there is zero accountability when things go wrong. When I tried to leave an honest review on the forum where I originally found them to warn other people, I discovered the review features had been completely shut down. They are happy to collect your data to push these loans on you, but they silence any consumer who tries to voice a legitimate, negative experience.
Better Mortgage might look good on paper, but if your financial situation requires actual competence, communication, or human oversight, look elsewhere. They are just another corporate data funnel that leaves you completely on your own the second the transaction gets messy. Avoid them and find a traditional, reputable lender who actually answers the phone and treats you like a human being

Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. Their portal is antique because even though you fill in your required tasks and your portal (that you're looking right at) shows tasks completed, you get calls from them telling you that tasks are not completed. Biggest waste of time. Don't bother with them. I have a feeling they don't even know what they're doing sometimes.
Go to your local bank instead. Although Better Mortgage advertises "lower rates" they were actually trying to charge us more.
