Our family retired to the Isle of Wight 20 years ago, we planned to follow them as soon as we could afford to. The years passed then Covid hit and we almost lost them. We decided to move now and not wait. Our flat in the West Midlands sold for less than we'd hoped but we moved to the island and lived with the family for a few months whilst we searched for somewhere we could afford. We thought a mobile home, a flat but everything was so expensive and rent was beyond our means - £600-£800 a month for a half decent 1 bedroom flat. We tried for a mortgage and the very best offer was £176,000( with our 88,000 deposit) and over £800 a month repayment. Then our estate agent suggested we contact Heylo. We phoned them and spoke to Camilla and Rebecca who explained the whole process and we were astounded at how amazing their advice and help was. Their offer enabled us to move into our dream 2 bedroom home, 9 minutes walk from the sea, front and rear garden, parking, and only 10 years old so like new. We bought almost a half share with our deposit and pay only £540 a month rent on the remainder. We can purchase additional shares at any time hence lowering our monthly rent, and one day could even own the property outright. We are so happy and thankful we found Heylo, and we can't thank them enough for making this possible, and for making the whole process so easy and straightforward. Your Home Heylo has been brilliant. We applied with them in May and completed on our 4 bedroom house in July. The whole process was made easy by the excellent communication between us and Rebecca, our Heylo contact. Whenever we had a question they were quick to reply both over the phone and via email. They also helped the process along by swiftly sending any prompts that we needed to chase up with our solicitor.
We discovered Your Home as we had seen another property on the open market advertised as a shared ownership through an estate agent and went to view the house. The estate agent then explained about Your Home Heylo. We then started looking at other properties on the open market and found our house.

Heylo set out all the costs right at the beginning, including how much your rent will be for the next 10 years. Currently the rent in the shared percentage of our house is less than what we would be paying for a mortgage, especially with the interest rate issue at the moment. We are planning to staircase to 100% ownership eventually, the process for this is also explained in detail by Heylo.

OK, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to state this, but I should, because it may help someone else. Before my Your Home experience, I found 3 dream homes via Way Home! However, Way Home failed 3 times to complete the purchases for my family and I. We were heartbroken! Then I remembered Your Home! And at the 1st attempt, our home was secured and the purchase was completed! Now, the saying goes "sometimes, when things don't go your way, it's because it wasn't meant to be, and things happen for a reason"! That's so true! Because if any one of those homes were secured via Way Home, I would have been made to accept that I could only gradually (then eventually) own 40% of the home! However, with Your Home, it's 100%! All I can say is, thank you Way Home for failing to secure our homes (3 times), and thank you Your Home for making my family happy at the first attempt!

Had been a Mortgage Prisoner come to the end of our term with no home after 25 years. This scheme has allowed us to get our dream home on shared ownership. They were friendly and efficient and Rebecca in particular kept us informed every step of the way. They were so kind to me when in the middle of house purchase my Mum died. So grateful we now have a secure home for our pending retirement.

I am due to complete on my purchase in the next week or so, the whole process has taken around 12 weeks. Emma was a great help and guided us along the way, she was always on the ball and was always making sure things were heading in the right direction. When things got frustrating due to the seller's side becoming slow she was quick to jump on this and get it sorted.

I recently purchased a property via Home Reach (Haylo). I can recommend this company, they have handled what proved to be a difficult transaction with understanding and commitment and in particular give high praise to the individual at Home Reach (Emma Stallworthy) for her attitude and communication skills. The part ownership and ladder system is a viable alternative to a conventional mortgage and I would recommend this company.
