We explored Heylo/ Your Home as an option because it was Sharia compliant, and they had been recommended to us. We found their website and information really clear and helpful. The application process was straightforward and they responded to us quickly, giving approval for us to proceed with buying a house. Our main contact was Camilla, and she was really helpful through the whole process, keeping track of the situation, giving advice when needed and advocating for us during the process. Their rates are fair and comparable to the mortgage market, and their payment plan is clear and understandable. At age 57 and self employed, finally selling the family home with my ex husband was daunting, and my two teenage sons coming with me, even though I couldn’t afford a big enough place, renting was a worrying option as I have 4 indoor cats. I can’t recommend them enough..I now own 41% of my home with a reasonable amount of rent to pay each month, I even recieved a new home card and a luxury hamper after we’d settled in… I feel safe and secure for my future..and that is a great feeling.

We are both retired and thought "why live in a third of a million pounds when you can spend it?". We have no one to leave it too. We sold our business and our house planning to spend 6 months on the Canal du Midi then 6 months in Provence. Secondly, their customer service is impeccable with easy explanation and a lovely website. My completion was done on the 1st of November, and I hope my ongoing journey of 'shared ownership' with them will be as good.

We recently purchased a property with the help of Heylo - YourHome program. This was the best solution we could find as it did NOT involve any interest which is absolutely critical for us. This could be beneficial for Jews, Christians and Muslims or anyone who likes an ethical way to purchase a house.

We found the process very easy to follow from the initial steps of getting an offer in principal all the way to completion. We would also like to say Agnieszka and Emma both did a fantastic job helping us with any questions we had, as well as providing regular updates.

YourHome offers a very competitive package that is fair as both sides are investing in the property together with a loss and profit sharing system, without charging interest. It might not be the best product for everyone as they do charge a rent that goes up by the rate of inflation (RPI + .05) each year. With a mortgage it would be fixed for a period but then again you would be paying a much higher monthly payment that includes a portion that goes towards buying more shares each month.

We highly recommend Heylo (YourHomes) to others but caution that everyone research it, see if you can afford it and if it makes sense in your situation.

I wasn’t fully sure how the shared purchase worked & had not heard of Heylo Housing before looking into shared ownership schemes, but I found everyone very helpful & they explained how it worked so there was a full understanding of the scheme. The whole thing was very smooth & they kept in touch during the process. Highly recommend x
