Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry for the confusion.

When we receive a prescription, our system should automatically closed the GP request that is open but occasionally this can remain open and not closed properly. This then generates automated emails from the original GP request that remained open as they automatically close 10 days after they are placed.

My order has been delivered well for a few months , now its stopped my doctor says they can't talk to well pharmacy, and well pharmacy says its my doctors fault , I am left with no meds , not a good result

We are very sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing with your medication supply and the communication breakdown between your doctor and the pharmacy. We understand how concerning it is to be without your essential medicines.

Your medication has been issued on a batch repeat prescription, this means that you do not need to place a new order request on your account as your GP has already signed off a batch of prescriptions which is stored on the NHS database.

We advise patients that if your next prescription does not download automatically 10 days before it is due then please send us a message from your account/send email to hello@well.co.uk and we will manually download the next one due.

We have provided this information in a previous email to you to help resolve the issue you have experienced.

Poor delivery experience

It is now 10days since my GP signed my prescription and I paid online for it. It has still not arrived. This is not what the website says which is delivery in 2-4 days which I feel is disingenuous.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very sorry to hear your prescription has not arrived within the expected timeframe.

The whole process from order through to delivery usually takes 7 working days. Once you've ordered your prescription online, your GP will need to approve it. GPs usually aim to do this within 2 working days, but the time this takes may vary. Once they've approved your prescription and we've processed and dispensed it, you'll usually receive your order within 2-4 days via Royal Mail.

Delivery may take longer during busy periods so be sure to order your prescription in plenty of time. We recommend placing your order 2 weeks before you need it.

Your prescription was received the 03/07 and checkout was not completed until the 04/07, this was then processed from the 04/07 and delivered 13/07, this was processed and delivered within the 7 working days as advertised.

Excessively slow, cost the NHS more because of delays, will never use again

Pretty poor experience. Signed up, found out that their app didn't work with my GP (not their fault, fair enough) and that my local Well pharmacy has no access to the online Well pharmacy system (weird, but fine). So I re-nominated my local Well pharmacy.
All of the above is a 3 star experience.
What happened to make it a 1 star experience is that the online Well Pharmacy snatched away my nomination to themselves and took my regular prescription. They then took 7 days to deliver it - about 5 days more than my local pharmacy, an unexpected and unacceptable delay that forced me to get an Emergency Prescription to cover me, at extra cost to the NHS and extra hassle to me.
Customer support offered no support, taking literal days to reply to simple questions, then offering no form of apology or compensation or even acknowledgment of their issue.
I strongly urge everyone to instead find a local pharmacy that offers delivery, which is quite easy to do for many people.

Edit to respond to Well's reply: I made the nomination to you. I tried an order through your app. The order failed. So I re-nominated my previous pharmacy, and after a few days after they confirmed I was registered with them I ordered my repeat prescription via the NHS app. In that time you must have re-processed my nomination, as the prescription went to you.
Your own app and website says dispatch is 2-4 days. It wasn't. It took a week to get here as I mentioned. You say you recommend that orders are made 2 weeks in advance, but that was never communicated to me, at any point in signing up.
You took a prescription you shouldn't have, you took longer than you said you would to deliver it, you caused me inconvenience and caused the NHS cost, and now you have the cheek to try to subtly shift the blame onto me.
By the way, my local pharmacy was also a Well pharmacy. How can they be the same brand, even using the same labels and label printers, probably using the same system, and yet you guys take 4+ days to process a prescription, and the local pharmacy can do nothing to help if signed up for the online one? There's no excuse.

Not all surgeries accept request through 3rd party (Pharmacies). Your surgery made us aware of this in February 2026 and this was updated on their GP profile for all patients who use our service that are registered with the surgery. This just means you have to request via your surgeries preferred method. You can still have your prescriptions dispensed by our online pharmacy as your surgery will still send approved prescriptions over.

We would only change the nomination during the sign up to the service when you have selected you consent to this or if we receive a communication through email or our chat service from the patient requesting us to change it.

It looks like you placed a request via your account which was rejected due to your surgery not using 3rd party and when it was approved it was then sent over to us to dispense and deliver.

The whole process from order through to delivery usually takes 7 working days. Once you've requested your prescription, your GP will need to approve it. GPs usually aim to do this within 2-3 working days, but the time this takes may vary. Once they've approved your prescription and we've processed it, you'll usually receive your order within 2-4 days via Royal Mail.

Delivery may take longer during busy periods so be sure to order your prescription in plenty of time. We recommend placing your order 2 weeks before you need it.

Please note: We are an online pharmacy offering a delivery service and our timescales are considerably longer then local pharmacy stores.

The medication I required was out of…

The medication I required was out of stock for a very long time. And I switched to a different pharmacist during that time.
I am questioning whether ‘WELL’ is a reliable enough service for the future.
When the medication is in stock, the service is brilliant. But I don’t want the hassle of switching pharmacies.

Whilst we do try to ensure we have stock it is not always possible as our stock levels change daily to the high volume of prescriptions we dispense daily. Stock issues can arise outside of our control, this can be due to a supply issue with suppliers or a manufacturing delay than can either be short or long term. Packaging inadequate

Package arrived the next day as expected so no problem there. However one of the 2 cold bags had split and soaked everything. A bit concerning as it was in the very hot weather and the medication needed to be kept cold.I am just hoping that the one cold bag which stayed intact although completely defrosted was sufficient. I emailed my concern but no response.
