From the time I walked in to Watson Bull & Porter in Newport, staff were very friendly.
A viewing was made from Newport with Sean Todd in the Ryde office who were dealing with said property.
Although in the end I decided not to offer on the property, there was always an input to try and find something that suited my needs without being pushy.
If my purchase doesn’t work out then I would certainly go back.

Very disappointed with the service and the lack of communication and interest.
From the onset of the purchase to completion, it was like treading in treacle. We were on the mainland and wanted to relocate to the island. Unfortunately the bungalow we wanted to buy was being sold by W B & P in Newport. Whenever we had a question to ask Lee the manager, we couldn't bypass the person answering the phone as Lee was too busy to talk to us or it went straight to voicemail. Email was never replied promptly.
On completion day, it was just a brief phone call to tell us where to find the key. No other form of communication from any member of staff to welcome us to the island. To add salt to injury, I received an email today asking me whether I wanted to rent my property through them. What an insult!!!!!!
I would never recommend this estate agent to anyone buying or selling.

Disappointed! I was shown 2 rental apartments and clearly stated I wanted flat #24. Not even 5 min after the viewing I was called to leave a holding deposit. I was reluctant and confirmed that it was for #24. Yes, he said it was. The next day I had to call them as they didn't follow up. I was told that #24 was not even in their portfolio! So they decided to change me to #22, which I didn't want. I will loose my deposit if I opt out now, so forced into a flat I do not want. Not happy.

Absouletly useless estate agent worst on the island rude on the phone that’s when you can get through dont push sales aren’t really that bothered definately Dosent put the customer first

Agents are more interested in selling other services than houses - so pushy and they make up lies to try and get you to use their brokers. So rude on the phone, and by E-mail, they don't pass offers to buyers which is illegal. Don't sell or buy a house from this company. Awful.

They had my holiday home on their books since January only one viewing they don't respond to calls or emails I've never known an estate agents like it.
They over priced my holiday home from the start and it was me informing them to reduce the price by 20k and still no viewings,are they actually doing there jobs properly? If I was there boss I'd sack em

We came over to the island last week, having had to pull out of a property due to issues raised on survey, through a different agent.
We spent some time on block viewings with Joanna Oseman. We couldn't have been more contented with her comfortable viewing persona that she has. She allocated her time, from her busy work day to show us several properties and also a property which had only just gone on the market.
We loved one of the properties and the potential that it had, however it was pipped by another, surprise property with a different agent that we had seen the day before.
Joanna was so gracious when we explained that an offer had been accepted on the other property, and wished us good luck with it, but should we need her in the future for anything then to let her know.
She is an AMAZING member of staff - thank you Joanna 😊

Well - where to start ? I used this company to let my property in westhill
Road. I will never let again. I signed a sole occupancy and within 2 days someone else moved in and they did not have right to rent , a relevant visa or home office documents!
I moved to remove them - fighting the agents who

Was fine even tho the additional guest (s- poss up to 4 more ) had no income at all !
The government website clearly shows a 10k fine for allowing an illegal immigrant to rent your property ( each country is different )
My plumber confirmed an additional 4 people who they claimed as “ visitors “
One lady claimed to be my tenants wife and promptly went into labour having flown here pregnant - must have lied to the airline …
Well fast forward - they are gone and some other poor landlord from WBO has them. But my home is completely ruined - nicotine , mould , carpet stains , mattress unusable and disposed of. Whole 3 bedroom flat requires painting. The cleaning required is horrific. There was food and fat in and on over and hob unclean me so far. The smell is horrific , curtains mouldy and furniture now needs disposal and replacement. They did all this in 2 months. Mouldy bathroom , toilet horrendous. Unhabitable until a crew has been in … in masks and PPE.
And WBP have a duty of care ????
No they dont give a damn.
Now fighting for the deposit TOWARDS repairs as already exceeds the money on the table and they won’t release it to me .. z
I asked them several times to visit - nada.
Please do not use this agency. They don’t care if you get a fine from the govt and don’t care if your property is ruined. Email me for photos if desired.

Do NOT use Watson Bull And Porter in ryde their , Dishonest, lie don't keep you updated, never return calls, and treat you according to your Status. The Mgr Simon Lee put me under so much pressure i went to Hospital with Chest Pains !! Could have died - Hope you can see this Lee as you are one contemptuous git ( mind you that word might be out of his vocabulary range ). They do not give a Toss - Use them at your peril - If i could have given negative stars i would have done - i explained to Lee that I wanted to downsize to a graden and wanted to get a Dog - Labrador - i got a reply of " There is enough room for a little doggie " like im 5!!. And so didn't listen, clearly - And i've heard through the grapevine called me a ret--d . So DO NOT USE THESE MUPPETS

I have been looking for properties for some time now and cannot understand the tactics used. If you don't take their financial services you will not get a look in. Nothing to see here move on except you won't be moving with this lot. I have been informed this practice is illegal allegedly....I really feel sorry for those expecting their properties to be rented / sold....

Disgusting estate agents, so unprofessional it isn't even funny. Make you stand outside your own property in the freezing rain whilst they take someone in to view, leave the front door open whilst they are in there letting out the heat, don't get back to you with a response, never available to talk, constantly lie. Taking sign down, no point in advertising their name if they don't do anything, oh yes, and couldn't make a viewing appointment as IT WAS RAINING, but ok for me to stand outside in rain.

I was a buyer and the way this Estate Agent has treated me and the way they spoke to me including their advice is appalling. I would not use or even consider using this Estate Agent for selling, buying or anything ever again..

I was told much false information (dates they kept informing me was changing constantly).

My Dad & Uncle were in hospital at the same time and I was next of kin. Despite this, I continued to action any requests from my solicitors and liaised with the Estate Agent. Their response was "I know you have a lot going on, but you are delaying the whole chain and its about to collapse. You just need to exchange now" - To note: at this stage, my solicitor was still waiting for answers from the sellers solicitors and had advised me we weren't legally ready to exchange.

I was being pestered by the Estate Agent constantly with phone calls and emails. Which is very funny, because once I put an offer in at the very beginning, they failed to return my calls or answer my emails.

My mental health deteriorated because of the way they managed my purchase. It was that bad, I got close to pulling out from buying the property.

The Estate Agent also played on the fact I was a first time buyer. They attempted to refer to me to mortgage brokers and solicitors who ripped you off. The solicitor they referred me to, meant I had to liaise with 2 different companies (Country Wise & PCS Legal) and neither spoke with the other. I was told by all 3 companies (Country Wise, PCS LegaI & Watson Bull & Porter) that as a first time buyer I had to ay stamp duty (this is incorrect and was only rectified when I sent them links to the government website showing I didn't have to pay stamp duty). I was also given various different quotes for the invoice, none of which matched and I was asked for my deposit money within the first week of being with them, before they had even requested the searches. I didn't give it to them. Eventually, after a couple of complaints, I switched solicitors with no penalties for myself. After I resolved this issue, the Estate Agent didn't explain the situation to the Seller at all, so I had to drop the seller a quick email and apologised for doing so.

I experienced extremely poor customer service. They are only concerned about meeting their targets. I would never use this Estate Agent Agent and would recommend others to consider using them.

We recently looked at a house for sale with Watson bull and porter that are tied with "i am sold" modern aution.

The offers on the house wasn't enough for the vendor, so It didn't sell to anyone.
Later this year it was put for sale under a normal estate agents sale.
As we looked at the house before when it was with " I am sold" we are now locked out from making an offer as they require 4.2% selling fees extra. This is for 12 months after the property hasn't been sold by "I am sold"
My advice for what it's worth is don't look at a property under aution unless your sure its not over vauled. Or vender will ask for the extra 4.2%.
Seems a bit of a con really.
I am sold didn't sell the property and want 4.2% for not selling it.
Its Bad review from us. Anyone that looked at the property whilst under "I am sold " will make the vendor liable for the 4.2% of the sale price.
Never will I look at a property involved with " I am sold".
Bad move by Watson bull and porter getting involved with these "I am sold" people. And now any potential buyer that looked at property whilst with Watson bull and porter and "i am sold "
Will cost the vendor the 4.2% that will increase property price, and may make it not viable. The house has been for sale for months now.
Still no sale.. bad move by Watson bull and porter..

I contacted this agency in Isle Of Wight as I was interested in an apartment they had listed(Eden Lodge, East Hill Rd, Ryde). They took my details and said that they would arrange a viewing for that next Saturday. They would then get back to me and confirm a time.
Two days later I still had not heard from them and so I called again. The first thing I was told is that they did not have my details and so I had clearly had not called them. They then took my details again and this time told me that I needed to either have a mortgage pre-approved or I should talk to there mortgage adviser before I could view the property, suggesting that I might be wasting there time.
She was rude and condescending. The poor people selling through this agency!
