Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Hedge trimmer arrived - no battery. Another hedge trimmer arrived the day after the first should have been long reach - exactly the same as the first and still no battery. Returned one - long reach one arrived and guess what- still no battery. Eventually received a battery - how can it go so wrong.?

Extremely helpful pre & post sales

Fake stock and poor customer communication
I ordered a Stiga Multiclip 47S Self Propelled Petrol Lawn Mower from ToolsToday on 26 May 2026. The only reason I chose this company was because every other retailer appeared to be out of stock, while ToolsToday gave the impression they had stock available. They were also around £30 more expensive than other sellers, but I was prepared to pay the premium for immediate availability. Another reason I felt confident ordering from them was their 5-star Trustpilot rating, which gave me the impression they were a reliable company.
After placing my order, I received the usual confirmation email stating that tracking details would be sent once the item was dispatched. However, after chasing my order, I was then told that Stiga had no stock and delivery would be delayed until the week commencing 15 June.
When I complained that I had only ordered because they appeared to have stock, the company offered me a £25 refund if I was willing to wait. I accepted this in good faith.
By 16 June, I still had no mower and no update. I emailed again but received no response. After weeks of waiting, I felt I had been completely misled. It seemed the mower had never been available when I placed the order.
On 17 June, after losing confidence in both the company and its customer service, I cancelled my order and requested a full refund. My concern was that if communication was this poor before I'd even received the mower, any future warranty or repair issues could be equally frustrating. The order was eventually cancelled and my money refunded.
My main issue isn't the refund—it's that the website appeared to be selling stock they didn't actually have, resulting in weeks of wasted time. I also feel the excellent Trustpilot rating gave me confidence to order, but unfortunately my own experience fell far short of what those reviews led me to expect. Better communication and accurate stock information would have avoided this entire experience.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, I don't recommend, nor would I buy from this company again.

We completely understand why you chose to purchase from us based on the availability shown at the time on our website (which was 'Usually Delivered In 7 Days' which shows in our terms stock is ordered directly from our suppliers and is not physically stocked in our warehouse).
To clarify the situation, at the time you placed your order, we were anticipating a fresh delivery of the Stiga Multiclip 47S lawn mower from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected delay in their supply chain, the stock we were promised did not arrive as scheduled. We know this is not an excuse for the inconvenience caused, and we regret that our communication regarding this delay was not as proactive or timely as it should have been. Purchase of Lawn Tractor

This helps to plan on being at home to receive delivery. Also the Mulching cover was advised as a price fitted but I had to fit
this myself.
Otherwise, lawn tractor was excellent, started first time once I removed from the pallet. Was well packed and wrapped to prevent any damage

The lady i spoke to was lovely, but i've had no response to emails and the follow up to receive a return note from a colleague never happened. They are short staffed and service is poor.

Very poor
I see i'm not the only one experiencing issues, I ordered a Kress Robotic Lawnmower on the 26th of june, the order status has been 'processing' since the following Monday, I've emailed 3 times, no reply, Rang twice, no one answers. Shocking, would not recomend.
Now i have the hassle of getting a refund.
