Fantastic experience fantastic product

Spent hours searching on the internet for the splashback design that would be just right for my new kitchen and found the blue dandelion image. The helpful how to measure and fitting guides made everything a lot easier! Loved having the exact size required made up and I think it looks fab! Very happy customer! Thank you!

Splashback is great.

Splashback had a very innovative design. The space it had to go in was tight and I was very precise with the measurements. It was made exactly as requested, fits perfectly and looks fantastic. It has transformed our kitchen and receives lots of comments from visitors.

The item turned up damage and was a poor quality. The response to my email was taking weeks and the glass item was stood up in my house, still in the packaging. Lee Anne from customer services was incredibly rude saying that I wasn’t fit to have children. (I think she must have daddy issues)

Agreed my reaction was unprofessional but I was really concerned about the child (not the splashback), I guess the protective mum kicked in (not Daddy Issues - that's vile).

The emails are pasted here below for anyone to read word for word:

You sent the following message: Hi, when can you get back to me about the refund?

''I really don’t want this item in my house any longer. It’s a danger to the baby being propped up against the wall and we have nowhere else to put it.''

and as a mother myself I replied:
''Well that's irresponsible parenting to have it accessible to a baby!!
In fact pretty shocking, do I need to contact someone regarding this as I am now wondering what else the baby has access to?
Dispose of the panel seems to mean more to you than the safety of your child.''
The refund is on the way to you.

Terrible customer service

I made an order, and 10 minutes later I realized timelines and I wanted to cancel the order.
They have no phone number.
It's been 3 days and their website chat option did not work as there is no one available.
I tried to contact through facebook, only automated messages.
I sent 4 emails, no responses.

This is very poor customer service, and it looks like stealing money.
Completely avoid please.

Update 12 July 2023: They responded here with a valid reason for not picking up my emails (holidays). I am happy to re-review this once I receive a reply back with the estimated delivery time, so I can decide if to cancel or keep the order.

We are based in Northern Ireland and over here there is a holiday period on the 11th-13th. Just saw this message as it alerts me personally. Our reviews go back over 5 years, no-one has stolen your money. You will be refunded if the item has not been started. Some one should be back in touch on 14th July after the bank holidays.

A good product let down by dire and unprofessional customer service

At first, I had zero issues with Splashbacks UK, the process seemed to be going smoothly up until the day of delivery.

On the day of delivery my item was delivered to the wrong address due to Splashbacks UK placing the wrong house number on the package. As the item was not required to be signed for was delivered to a safe space at this wrongly addressed property. Note: In every email correspondence my address was correct so this was an unusual error to make.

I reached out to Splashbacks UK about this, in my email I mention that I am disabled and that it will require me to wait for family support to access the property for the item. The representative of Splashbacks UK chose to be combative about this, telling me how embarrassed they were at my mentioning this and if I had issues with my disability, I should address that. Aiming to make me feel bad despite the issues arising from their failure of service. This response may actually be considered a breach of the Equality Act, targeting a protected characteristic, unprompted and unwanted with the intention to belittle and make me feel bad for simply mentioning it.

Keep in mind, as is visible in earlier review responses (by the same Splashback UK rep who did this) Splashbacks UK requires customers to check items on the day of delivery or may refuse to replace or refund damaged items, which would be impossible for me to do due to my limitations. This was the only reason for this being mentioned.

Eventually with family support I was able to get the item collected from the neighbour and it was fortunately in good condition without damage, despite the package not being clearly marked as fragile or that it contained glass. I can’t fault the product fortunately.

I have had no response since I responded to this email on 26th June. I strongly believe Splashbacks UK needs to reconsider its customer services to clean up the combative and unprofessional image that is being created for them. The customer service turned what would have just been a mild disappointment into an honestly infuriating experience, I fully regret buying from Splashbacks UK and advise everyone against doing so as a result.

Edit:
Please note, as visible in my review I never mention colour, my splashback was actually clear frosted glass. So yes what they say simply never happened. This was fabricated story simply to black mark my review (Or they are poorly organised and mixing up my case with another, meaning they make a habit or talking down to people like they did me for protected characteristics). As also written in my review my disability was very relevant, in relation to my ability to collect the misdelivered item from another property. I even describe how I cannot fault the product, so I'm bewildered why they seem to think I had an issue with the colour of the item. The response given below is a perfect example of their customer service.

Edit (13/07/2023):
Splashbacks UK seems to have amended their reply to reflect the house number that they misaddressed the package to. This seems simply a spiteful move as yes it was a neighbors property, that I could still not access (and carry a bulky package from) without support due to disability. Honestly seems innappropriate for them to be highlighting the extent of my personal limitations publically to try belittle me further and discredit my review, after already lying in their response.

Edit (16/07/2023):
Just because I feel clarity needs to be presented I'll just edit to specify (in case it was unclear for any review readers), the lie I refer to is the false claim that I had issue with the colour of my clear frosted glass splashback. And that I was at all offered anything besides a belittling response from the business. It is clear, I have no issues with it, except my now association with it being from a business that conducts itself this way.

I'd also say that I dont appreciate threats to post the delivery details, it would be a breach of my personal data by the business due to their misunderstanding. It would not be relevant information to post publically online and I simply do not give permission for it to be done.

Final Edit:
The business really likes putting up this point of the closeness truly oblivious and ignorant to what I have already pointed out.

Ultimately that issue is secondary to the customer support for me which made this a one star review not 3 or 4. At this stage I'm just happy each reaction here shows just how little attention to detail Splashbacks Uk gives to it's customer support and how unprofessional, flipant and unhelpful they are on so many levels, a tone taken immediately at first sign of my disappointment. I refuse to engage with the childishness any further.

Simply don't buy from them, this is the customer care they offer on full display.

In your email your complaint was nothing to do with the time frame.
We actually offered you an extra 40% off if you wanted to reorder in a different colour and that still was not good enough for you.
You didn't like the colour, there was no mention of timeframes from us.
I have many friends and some employees with disabilities and they also did not understand why that had to be mentioned, it had nothing to do with you disliking the colour of your glass? So why bring that up. And yes, a few also said they would never bring up the fact they had a disability when purchasing an item and they would be embarrassed to do so unless it was relevant. In your case it was not relevant at all. As a family run company, with family members also that suffer from various disabilities we do not differentiate or make a difference, yes we accommodate when needed, but again in this case completely irrelevant.

The neighbour that it was delivered to is number 4 and this customer is number 5 in the same street.
This is fact. Your number was 5.....Close and it was delivered to 4 ..... Close.
I can paste the delivery confirmation from the courier if you wish. But this is not a lie.

Edit : Again, as mentioned. The delivery was to a house the next number to your own. This whole thing you have completely blown out of proportion to a ridiculous extent. I asked if you wanted me to post the courier details it was a question as you were exaggerating the situation not a threat.

Yes, couriers should deliver to you, but sometimes they leave parcels with neighbors, I hate to think what they had to endure for signing on your behalf, hopefully you are not suing them for fraud.

Very poor customer service

Very poor service.
Ordered splashback 1/5/23.
Paid more as I made size mistake 12/5/23. Chased order 25/5/23 & told it would be 10-14 days.
Chased 19/6/23 & 21/6/23 - not heard anything. No telephone no available
Would not recommend…..

UPDATE: I forgot to add that a new one arrived beautiful and undamaged. So in summary great product but very difficult to talk to anyone and certainly not by phone. It does make my cooker look lovely.

Update as of today 13th June. I am delighted to say that the company are sending me a replacement next week which is great news! I will delete the old feedback if it all comes right , thank you I

Sadly I cannot get hold of this company. A number of weeks ago I ordered a new splashback in a bespoke colour. I expected it to take four weeks or so and it did so that was great...except it has arrived damaged. The box had various dents in it and we took photos before we unwrapped it fearing the worst. The sad thing is that it is a beautiful product, you can see it is the exact colour we requested it be matched to and it seems good quality glass but it it damaged so useless. I emailed on WEDNESDAY as cannot find a customer care number. I sent photos of the glass and the packaging. I have not heard a thing and I cannot contact them anyway at all. Their "live" Chat is not live, it just leaves a message for them to reply to. Having had to be super careful with our newly painted walls I just want to know what we do next because clearly we are going to have to wait longer. But worse we now have a massive piece of glass with nowhere to store it and children in the house so it is dangerous. We have mentioned this on the chat and in an email but haven't heard a thing. When things go wrong you really get a feel for a company and sadly I can't even speak to this one. It seems some people have written reviews to get responses so I am hoping for the same. If I get some help I will be sure to update my comments. Thank you.

12/6 - I still have heard nothing and cannot get on to any kind of "live" chat.

13/6 thank you for your comments - you are correct that I did get a reply yesterday but I responded immediately asking what to do with the glass standing in our hall and m now waiting again for a reply. I realise you have a system but when things go wrong I would expect a more expedited service and possibly a phone call as more efficient than emailing ,waiting, emailing etc. As mentioned the glass colour etc is fantastic so it is an unfortunate situation and apart from being told another one will be sent as soon as possible I still have no idea if that means the same lead time again or whether you do expedite the new one, I also do not want to get this one out up in the meantime as timely and costly. I just want it taking away because it is dangerous and have not had a reply to that part.

Hello Amanda, we have replied to you yesterday. Any email - whether it is a query, sale, complaint etc... we work from oldest to newest. Each email we receive there is an automatic email sent back letting customers know the following "Thank you for your email we will reply as soon as possible, we are very busy at present and that may be around 3-5 working days."
I'm sorry, but we are really busy and we work through as quickly as possible.

High quality service and product

Good communication whilst the order was processed. The finished product is precisely engineered to my measurements. People have commented on how good it looks. For a quality bespoke piece of equipment the splashback is great value, and comes with clear instructions on handling and fitting.
