Replacement door slabs
Well very impressed in the fitment of our replacement front door slabs. Appointment was made previously for between 9am & 10am, Ash & Ian arrived before & quickly got on with the job in hand. They were both polite & very professional answering any questions that we had.
When they were finished they tidied up after & left no mess at all. We would highly recommend to family & friends.

built late 2024
we moved to a newly built house completed late 24 with 3 solidor doors one of the doors ( front door) the lock mechanism that runs top to bottom and in your face when you open the door.is very poor ie the zink plating is starting to change with blackish grey stains which is very poor for a quality product, i contacted solidor who said i should take it up with the installer ,because i dont know who the installer was, i in effect told i have no warranty ,after reading other reviews is this there std service if so its 1 star, for a quality product .

To clarify, warranties for Solidor doors are held with the trade partner or installer who supplied and fitted the door, as they are responsible for installation and aftercare. We understand that in some cases—particularly with new-build properties—the installer details may not be immediately available.

Solid Trusted Guarantee after 8 years
We had a Solidor fitted around 8 years ago after a really bad experience with a Rockdoor that just didn't like the cold or sunny weather. I contacted Solidor directly because of a issue with the door and spoke to Jessica who communcated every step of the way and organised a site visit by their engineer Paul. After 8 years I didn't hold up much hope of sorting the door out without them trying to come up with some kind of smallprint warranty excuse with me then having to pay for a replacement myself as previously with the Rockdoor. Shocked and amazed, they were absolutely brilliant and organised for a new door to be manufactured under their 10 year warranty. Paul fitted the door and he really is a fantastic guy a true gent and a credit to Solidor with his vast knowledge and experience. Solidor to me are a company to be trusted and they actually do stick by their guarantee, no matter the weather. Thanks again guys for a fantastic experience greatly appreciated in this day and age.

First Class Customer Service
Although my door was out of warranty I contacted their customer service team for advice regarding an issue with the hardware. From my initial contact, the response was first class and resolved my issue. An excellent experience all round and great customer service from Solidor.

Our front door
The door was fitted in 2 hrs by 2 experienced fitters from Kestral . the door looks fantastic closes well , and is easy to close and lock .

The glass in the door is damaged.
The door is beautiful. It closes perfectly. Our problem lies and why I only gave it 3 stars is in the glass. The door arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and covered in plastic so it was stored along with the glass for our windows in our garden until we were ready to fit them. When we unpacked the door there were two pressure cracks across the middle of the glass. Neither the supplier nor manufacturer will accept responsibility so we are left with a damaged door. Very disappointing and unacceptable.

We have been using Solidor for over 15 years and are an approved installer of their range. Having been in the industry for over 30 years, I am very selective about the products and manufacturers we choose to work with, and Solidor has consistently proven to be a reliable choice.

Porch door not up to purpose
At first we were delighted with our new porch, set off by a Solidor composite door. Unfortunately although it is described as “designed for life” it hasn’t lived up to this expectation. First we had to have a replacement letterbox as the metal plate was faulty. Next the lead strips in the design peeled off and needed replacement. Then we suffered water ingress into the porch, ruining the carpet. The bottom half of the door bowed out gradually over the last year or so until we can now barely shut the door. We reached out to our supplier who wrote to you. We clearly didn’t flag it up in time as the guarantee has now run out. We expected an expensive door by a market leader to last longer than this. Our Solidor front door is still going strong and is older than this one, but protected by the elements. I can only advise that Solidor doors are not fit for purpose if used as an outer door, facing the elements.
Even though slightly out of guarantee, I am disappointed Solidor couldn’t help the customer in a goodwill gesture.

Your experience with the letterbox, the lead detailing, the water ingress and now the bowing is absolutely not what we want for any customer. A Solidor door is made up of many individual components, and our 10‑year warranty is in place to make sure that if anything does go wrong during that period, we can review it and put it right.
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to offer a lifetime guarantee, and once a product moves outside the warranty period our ability to step in becomes limited. We appreciate that this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for, and we’re genuinely sorry it’s left you feeling disappointed — especially when your other Solidor door continues to perform well.
