Shoebuy - liars, cheaters
Frankly, I cannot even believe what happened. 1st, the boots arrived in "already worn" condition. There was no tissue paper stuffed into the toes of each boot which is a common expectation for a new pair of boots costing near $200. There were so many more indication these boots were used. I made an assumption that perhaps these were a pair someone returned under Wolverine's 30 day comfort guarantee. I directly addressed both Wolverine AND Shoebuy about this and I swear on the very life I live both Wolverine & Shoebuy were doing everything to avoid giving me a straight answer to that question. I absolutely believe Wolverine is pushing their rejects and returned pre-worn products through distributors like Shoebuy.
Well, the deal was this: I called, I complained, and I even pointed out unacceptable stitching that was already pulling out of the seams in 2 places. I photographed everything.
I ran the problem by the rep for shoebuy. I said I wanted a refund because I said they are not worthy of trust because these boots were without question, NOT NEW!. Anyway, with the defects I mentioned, and the photos I have that clearly show this, there should be no problem returning these boots for a full refund, no fees, no return shipping. Their deal was that if the boots do not meet the expectations under Wolverine's comfort guarantee, you have 30 days to return them whether they have been worn 1 time or 30 times and even if they show signs of 30 days of wear, you can return them under the comfort guarantee, but a restocking fee would apply.
I, however, called them to request a return the moment after I opened the box to complain about getting someone elses boots. Just the worst feeling in the world
The representative agreed to send a return label and said, they will be entered into the system as defective and there would be no restocking fees or any other fees. Sure enough, the email came about a week later, stating they received the boots and were expressing great happiness and joy by writing "GOOD NEWS!, Your boots have been received and a refund has been processed in the amount of $***.**! Without giving the exact amount, just know it was the cost I paid minus that restocking fee. They neglected to acknowledge that they were defective and this prompted me to call them yet again. But to no avail.
It is without hesitation that I say the customer service industry is out of control and there are really only a few good companies that know how to treat customers and be fair. Shoebuy is NOT one of those companies. The representative claimed their warehouse declared the boots were not defective. Now, for the less savvy shopper, this means you might lose the restocking fee. But I am dealing with so many sub-par customer service incidents from so many well known companies it's just earth shattering to see that these companies are trusting their reputations and their future business to the methods these people. All to save a few dollars. But, they were wrong. They literally tried to pass off used merchandise as new. And the fact they would chance pushing me or anyone els for that matter, for the $6.95 restocking fee, is mind boggling. Especially when I have photos and witnesses to back up all of my claims. There were literally minutes from the time I opened the package and called them reporting the defective seams and I told them immediately that I received boots that just were not new.
In closing, I cannot say enough to really make it any worst. This company SHoebuy, along with many others, have the worst customer service in place when it comes to dealing with an unhappy customer who has good reason to hit them where it hurts. They are the type who probably utilize the services of foreigners that could care less about the laws of the United States since they do not live here. Getting service from people who do not even reside in my country is about as worthless as it gets. It happens on Shoebuy, Ebay, PayPal, several well known credit and financial institutions like Synchrony bank and even our wonderful smartphone carriers. They use foreigners for their customer service which has resulted in some greedy attempt to try to make good paying customers pay for the shortcomings and mistakes of the companies we deal with. Not to mention the wrongful attempts to pass of used merchandise as new. I hope our current administration in the USA completely erradicates this. We deserve better than what companies like Shoebuy are doing to us.
The made in America label was always something to be proud of and so was the good old fashioned service from our own natives who respect the hard working man for all of their efforts and business. I was told these Boots were one of the few made by Wolverine that were Made in USA and I later find out they are imported. Shoebuy will never get my business again and I really hope others catch on to them and others like them. Maybe go to other more reputable trustworthy online selling networks. I'll buy Amazon at 25% over shoebuy pricing any day of the week just because I know they stand by the hard working American. Walmart is another company rising up with excellent servicve. Although none are perfect, these are just examples of the companies trying hard to retain the respect and trust of the consumer.
And many thanks to Captial One, the credit card I used to pay Shoebuy, has actually compensated me for not only the restocking fee but also the full cost of the boots and they told me I will lose nothing since this was clearly Shoebuy's fault and they are in the wrong. Maybe it's alleged, but I say they are guilty of trying to pass off boots that were already bought, worn, and show too many signs of wear to sell as new. Without disclosure, that is fraud my friend.
Returns are not free!
My order arrived quickly and the shoes are of good quality, but the only reason I ordered from them was that I heard they have free shipping and free returns, which is not true. It turns out that when you return a pair of shoes, they charged a $6.95 restocking fee for each pair of shoes. I will not order again!
Don't waste your time
I ordered 2 pairs of shoes and received an email telling me that one pair has been cancelled. I called to clarify and was told that they are no longer in stock. I was very upset because I planned on receiving these shoes next week and need them for a wedding. I said that I don't understand how it takes almost a week to notify me that something is out of stock. The customer service representative then argued that it hasn't been almost a week... It's been 5 business days, which is almost a week to me. She then told me that I needed to look at this from a bigger perspective than my own. My understanding from this conversation is: Do not rely on shoebuy to fulfill the order. If you find something you like but don't really care if you ever receive it, go ahead and order. Shoebuy feels no responsibility to fill orders.
NO Customer Service!
I bought 36 pairs of socks. Unfortunately I haven't seen that the Fashion Pack contains different patterns which I don't like. I wrote the 4 times an EMail - no response at all. Just NOTHING. There is no customer service at all! So poor in times like this! Never again!

bad return policy/poor customer service
I purchased a pair of Sk-8 Vans for my daughter for Christmas. Returned because they did not fit. Several weeks later instead of a refund I received that same pair of shoes back. Assuming it was an error I contacted them hoping to get a new shipping label. I was informed that my return would not be accepted and I was not eligible for a refund because I taped the return label directly to the shoe box and it was therefore damaged. 2 calls to customer service only left me frustrated.
The shoes are in perfect condition, never worn, and the box is in perfect condition except for a small amount of tape residue and yet I am out $60 and stuck with shoes that don't fit. I am very disappointed and will not be back. I also find their $6.95 restocking fee to be ridiculous.
Stay away from shoebuy
If your shoes don't fit and they don't carry the size larger - they will charge you a $7.95 fee per item returned. They don't mention this when you buy and don't mention it when you return - just send an e -mail when they receive your return - pretty cheap trick.
They are very dishonest.

I bought a pair of shoes for 70$ more or less.
They charge me another 40$ for transport our of USA but, my surprise arrive later when UPS ask me for 40$ more in concept of taxes.
I buy Amazon, Alibaba, Zoolander... ans others and never I have paid taxes.
Even if I buy in Alibaba a good with value 3$ or a good valued 200$ I neve have been forced to pay taxes.
Sneakiness and cancelled order
Not only did they cancel my order for a pair of shoes due to "out of stock" I bought my son, this not giving chance to get them before Christmas, but they raised the price of the item after I bought it, suggesting that it was IN stock when I bought it, they simply wanted to raise the price for others to buy. This is actually an illegal practice which I am bringing up with the department of consumer affairs.
Worst customer service ever!!!
I ordered a pair of shoes from shoebuy.com, they were on sale. After 5 days a received an email that says "the shoes you ordered are out of stock"!!! I spoke with their customer service, the representative here self was so rude she refused to give me the other color with the same sale price and she hang up on me! So rude!

Shoebuy, unlike great companies like AMAZON, counts your 60 day FREE RETURN period from the ORDER DATE, rather than from the receipt of the order.
I spoke to a Supervisor, BARROW, where I was two days after the 60 period from the ORDER DATE, and she would not make an exception.
She said that I would be responsible for the RETURN SHIPPING plus a RESTOCK FEE of $6.95 RESTOCK FEE per pair of shoes.
Customers should be made aware BEFORE ORDERING that SHOEBUY counts the RETURN PERIOD from the ORDER DATE.
The sizing was not uniform among shoes of the same manufacturer.
In the future, I will only order from Companies that appreciate their Customers.
Worst cisomer service and would not cancel order after not standing by the shipping time they promised
Ordered a pair of shoes the end of November with a guarantee of getting the shoes by Christmas, between December 6 to the 13th. That was the reason I decided to order from them. A week later Amazon contacts me to tell me the seller has not shipped the order or contacted them about any issues. I call Shoe buy and received the worst customer service, on multiple calls. They told us they do not know when they would get the order, yes they do not have the boot themselves. They said their vendor, Doc. Martens, was the hold up. So, they could not answer when we would get them. They said they would not cancel the order, saying it could not be cancled and it was too late. They have not shipped the shoes and the payment is in pending. Amazon even said they have had issues with this seller.
Customer service is horrendous!
By far the worst customer service at shoebuy is disgraceful. I've spent close to $500 here in the past 2 weeks and I can't ever get a return call from a supervisor to correct and issue that developed with an order. I called their "customer service" Sept 4 times in 2 days and not once has my issue been addressed and or corrected. I've asked each aND every time to speak to a supervisor which could never be accomplished. Been told one would call me back asap. We'll I guess asap to them is never, because I have yet to hear from anyone. ZAPPOS by far is light years ahead with their customer service. I'll never use shoebuy again. They bait you with their coupons, but if you have an issue your on your own.
Bad return customer service
I received the incorrect size of Merrill shoes . Not the size I ordered. Called customer service and they would not ship the correct shoe size unless I placed another order . The manager said when you order using PayPal they will not do anything till they receive the shoes we did not order back. They could easily tell they were in transit back by urging the tracking number. And I had to drive far to get yo a UPS store to ship my return back. They offered a measly 5$ Back. I refuse for them to literally have two times the price of the shoes while I did not even have a physical pair in my possession. Bad company. By the way I had ordered a different pair of shoes the week before and it took them 10 days yo tell me they were out of stock!!
Now that I started to look elsewhere I have found same shoes at the same price with free returns and no restocking at several sites including Amazon. Bye Bye Shoe Buy.
Terrible customer service and policies
I made a purchase of 3 pairs of shoes and since I wasn't sure about the third and saw they charge for each return I tried to cancel it. I was told they would try. That was fine and I logged in the next day and under account it said no recent orders, so I assumed it was canceled successfully and placed another order for the 2 pairs I wanted. The next day I was looking at the site and my first order appeared again! I called and they said it was too late to cancel the second order with 2 identical pairs but they would make a note to waive the shipping charges. Of course they came today and I called and that is not what happened. First I was told to return all 4 pairs so they can figure out if it was their fault and decide what to do. Return the 2 pairs I wanted? Why? Then a supervisor was no more helpful. And the funny thing is again when I looked at my account it said no recent orders until I logged out and in again. So I am being penalized for a problem on their site. I will never order from them again. Use Zappo's or Amazon - reputable companies with great customer service.
Update - after emailing customer service a representative reached out to me and was very helpful.
They Sell Products With Quality Issues (Seconds)
I've made several purchases from Shoebuy. They don't tell you this but the products (shoes, bags or accessories) they sell are seconds or may have issues such as incorrect sizes labeled (W was actually M for medium width) or on bags for instance the logo for the gym bag was installed or embroidered on upside down. As seconds they should be sold as such, not marked as a sale price from manufacturer's suggested retail price. In addition to these issues, the site showed that I had 12 points ($1 = 1 point) more to get a reward, I was making a 2 pair purchase and chose to purchase them on two orders to take advantage of my points "earned", after the first purchase I returned to do the second only to discover it now showing my points expired two days prior, why did it just show a points balance 5 minutes ago. This is the type of business they are, I don't recommend them to anyone, unfortunately I can't.
Exchange policy stinks!
Wow. Word of advice friends- don't purchase from Shoebuy.com.
We bought two pairs of shoes for my son. First pair arrived on time. Second pair arrived a week later and was not only the wrong style but also the wrong size. Called the company to arrange a return and they were willing to take back the shoes. However, they wanted me to PAY again (full purchase price) for the shoes to get the correct pair shipped which they said they would later credit back to me once they received my return. When I asked why this was their policy they said it was because the manufacturer required them to pay. So essentially, they wanted me to finance their product shipping even though it was their error. No thanks. I'm returning this pair and will by another elsewhere.
Disappointing customer service, sent used and worn shoes
An unfortunate place to shop. My first order went very well -- shoes came in a timely fashion. The problem came during the exchange process.
When you exchange shoes, Shoebuy charges your credit card, then credits you back when the shoes arrive. So you have to float the cost of two pairs of shoes for a while. In my case, they shipped me a pair of clearly worn shoes in exchange. The shoes looked used. They were not new. They were crinkled, had dirty sock wear inside.
The customer service rep only repeated over and over that I could exchange them in "unworn, and new condition." My concern was that shipping them back, I would get dinged for the used shoes. How would they know it was a previous customer and not me that had worn the shoes? I was disappointed to be sent used shoes, and then have to double pay (now floating the bill for three pairs of shoes as my first hadn't been credited back), and then have to wait another week for shoes.
They would not budge on the policy or even acknowledge any issues with this. I don't even think the computer chat customer service is a real human, since all I got in reply was canned responses.
It was my first time shopping here. I will likely be my last.
Longevity of shoe was disappointing
Back in November, 2015, I had ordered a pair of Drew Tulips. After 4 1/2 months, the soles of both shoes literally cracked from side to side. I sent them back and was issued a refund. Defective, yes, but thought it was a fluke. I ordered another pair of the same shoe due to the fact of comfort. I am a server and on my feet alot. Another 4 1/2 months have passed and I find the second pair of shoes is now wearing at the toe line where my toes (big toe) is actually about to breakthrough the fabric. I sent them back again, not re-ordering another pair, it has been deemed that it was normal wear and tear and it was my fault. Four and a half months of wearing a shoe to have different problems with it is unacceptable. A shoe should last longer than that for what we pay for a good shoe. They have lost me as a customer. Buyer, BEWARE!
