Dreadful experience with this company
Dreadful experience with this company! I wanted a very simple standard rear number plate, I have ended up paying for a more expensive non standard number plate AS WELL AS the standard number plate, absolutely no chance of a refund on the unwanted number plate, they took payment first and foremost although apparently I hadn’t supplied the correct information!….. they took payment on something they could not supply.when I pointed this out I was told ‘it was standard practice for any online seller to take payment first (without checking the details you have submitted) and if theres an issue….tough!) and not give any refund under any circumstances….extremely disappointing!
I would not touch this company with a bargepole!

We are sorry to read your review, but your comments do not reflect what happened.
You placed two separate orders with us: one for a square rear plate and one for a standard rear plate. The square plate was not sent in error; it was the product selected and ordered, and it was manufactured and dispatched after the required documents were provided.
The standard rear plate was initially delayed because the legally required proof had not been uploaded for that specific order. As a registered number plate supplier, we cannot dispatch plates until the correct ID and entitlement documents have been received.
Once you provided the required documents for the standard rear plate on 12 July, that order was processed and dispatched on 13 July. You have therefore received the plates ordered.
We did not take payment for something we “could not supply”. Both orders were manufactured according to the details submitted online, and the delay was only due to the legal documentation requirement, which is explained before and after ordering.
As the plates were personalised, made-to-order items, they could not be cancelled or refunded once manufactured.

The requirement to provide proof of identity and proof of entitlement is a legal requirement for all DVLA Registered Number Plate Suppliers and has been in place for over 20 years. This information is provided on the front page of our website, during the ordering process, immediately after checkout, in the order confirmation email and on the secure document upload page.
Customers are able to upload their documents immediately after placing their order using the secure upload link provided, and many choose to do so, allowing their order to be processed without delay.
Unfortunately, personalised number plates that have already been manufactured are exempt from the standard cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Whilst we appreciate that this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for, we have complied with both the law and the terms agreed at the time of purchase.

I ordered a number plate online and…
I ordered a number plate online and paid at the time of purchase. The website advertised fast delivery and did not request any documents during checkout.
After around two weeks, I had not received the order, so I contacted customer support. I was then asked to provide V5 and ID, which I submitted via the link provided.
Several more days passed without delivery. I was later told that the documents were not correct, although I had uploaded them exactly as instructed.
At this point, I have still not received the product and have not been issued a refund.
Not recommended.

Our records show that your order could not be dispatched because the legally required documents were either not provided or were not in a format that we are permitted to accept. As a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier, we are legally required to verify both proof of identity and proof of entitlement before we can supply number plates, and we cannot make exceptions to these requirements.
We do not dispatch any order until the correct documentation has been received and verified. As soon as valid documents are uploaded, orders are processed without delay.
We appreciate that this process can sometimes be frustrating, but these checks are in place to help prevent fraudulent or cloned number plates and to protect legitimate motorists. If you still require assistance with your order, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you upload the correct documents so your order can be completed.

We appreciate that the document requirements can sometimes be confusing, however we advised you on multiple occasions which forms of identification are legally acceptable for a DVLA registered number plate supplier to accept.
These requirements are not unique to Quick Plates and are set by the legislation governing the supply of road legal number plates.
We also note that the information we provided was repeated several times, but it appeared that our emails were not being read in full, which understandably made resolving the matter more difficult.

Shocking service. have uploaded plenty of documents, constantly receive emails saying they need other documents. cannot speak to any one. have asked for a refund, still no reply. have been sending messages back and forth for hours, still no progress. Avoid all at costs dealing with this company. no one to talk to.

Having reviewed the correspondence, we note that the entire conversation lasted less than 45 minutes, so the suggestion that messages had been going back and forth for “hours” is simply not accurate. In fact, we replied to your messages within approximately five minutes.
As a DVLA registered number plate supplier, we can only accept certain legally prescribed documents. Where incorrect or incomplete documents are uploaded, we have no option but to request alternative proofs to ensure we remain compliant with the regulations.
We appreciate that this can sometimes be frustrating, but these requirements are set by law and apply to all road legal number plate suppliers.
Nevertheless, we are always happy to assist customers through the process and remain committed to responding as quickly as possible.
