Quick plates are very quick to take payment.....
Quick plates are very quick to take payment but very difficult to contact. I used them because I wanted the plates immediately. I ordered a number plate on 26th September. Unfortunately I hadn't uploaded my documents. They hadn't sent me an order number so I emailed them and sent my documents that way. I also sent them a message via their on-line message service because it is not possible to phone them. I did not get a response. When I sent a further message asking for a refund I finally got a reply on 6th September saying that I had agreed to the T&C's and they would not provide a refund. They still didn't bother giving me an order number or any way of sending my documents to them. By this time it was too late because I had had to buy a numberplate elsewhere as I had informed them
Please save yourself time and money and avoid this site!

Charged twice after website showed payment was cancelled
I only wanted to order one front number plate.
My first order was #82626. The website showed that the payment had been cancelled and stated that no charge had been made to my card. Because of this, I immediately placed a second order, #82630.
I received only one front number plate, but my bank account was charged £14.78 twice.
I contacted Quick Plates and explained the situation. They acknowledged that the website had displayed an incorrect payment message and said they had since changed the website to prevent this happening again.
Despite this, they have not refunded the additional £14.78.
I do not think this is reasonable. If the website had shown the correct payment status, I would never have placed the second order.
I am now having to pursue the duplicate charge through my bank.

Motorcycle plate and self tapping screws
They supplied me with a motorcycle registration plate yet the fixing kit (extra £5) is not for motorcycles, this consists of self tapping screws and some coloured caps, which are good for NO motorcycle (nor is the kit worth £5) only cars for screwing into plastic. If this was clear in the description then I wouldn't have had to waste a fiver.
Bikes require the plastic screw and bolt fixings to fix to the bracket!!!
Quickplates will not pay for return postage even though it's a misleading purchase so beware of this. The plate is fine but if you offer a fitting kit for a bike then supply something that can be used.
As with a lot of online sellers nowadays they are only interested in sales and not customer satisfaction.
Hardly worth returning with the cost of postage.
I rate you very low in customer service, not that you care.
I would also like to add that my motorcycle metal registration plate bracket is standard across all motorcycles and is NOT an "aftermarket" addition.
Offering a fixing kit for a motorcycle registration plate indicates that you know how they are mounted and that you are selling something that motorcyclists can use, this is clearly not the case on both accounts, you clearly do not understand how motorcycle plates are mounted nor is this kit of any use whatsoever to motorcyclists.
Self tapping screws!!!!! Really????

We’re sorry that you were disappointed with the fixing kit, but we do need to clarify a couple of points.
The fixing kit ordered is our standard number plate fixing kit, consisting of screws and coloured caps. We don’t advertise it as a motorcycle-specific fixing kit, nor do we state that it contains plastic bolts for aftermarket motorcycle mounting brackets.
Motorcycles use a wide variety of mounting arrangements, so the fixings required will depend upon the particular motorcycle and bracket being used. In your case, you advised us that you have a metal mounting bracket requiring a different type of fixing.
When you contacted us, we confirmed that you were welcome to return the fixing kit and that we would refund the £4.99 paid for it once received. As the item supplied was the item ordered and was neither incorrect nor faulty, we did not agree to pay the return postage.
We certainly do care about customer satisfaction, which is precisely why we offered to accept the kit back and provide a full refund for it despite having supplied the product ordered.
We’re pleased to hear that you are happy with the motorcycle plate itself, and we’re sorry that the optional fixing kit wasn’t suitable for your particular mounting arrangement.

As a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier, we are legally required to receive and verify proof of entitlement and proof of identity before we can dispatch replacement number plates. While these documents are not required to place an order, they are clearly listed throughout the ordering process and are required before we can complete it.
Your order was manufactured in accordance with the details you provided and is being held pending receipt of the required documentation. We hold orders for up to three months to give customers plenty of time to provide the necessary proofs.
As the plates are personalised goods made specifically to your order, they are exempt from the standard cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations once manufacturing has begun.
We certainly have no intention of misleading customers, and we’d still be very happy to complete your order as soon as the required documents are uploaded through our secure portal.

Absolutely shocking service, ordered over a month ago and still haven’t received my plate. Emailed them and they stated I haven’t uploaded correct documents which I uploaded exactly what was asked. Claimed they emailed me requesting more documents, 2 weeks prior, which they didn’t. Happy to hold on to your money. Shocking service, wouldn’t recommend to anyone! Unfortunately, the documents initially provided did not meet these requirements, so we contacted you to explain what was needed in order to proceed.
We appreciate that emails can occasionally be missed or filtered by spam/junk folders, but we can confirm that correspondence was sent requesting the additional documentation. Without the legally required documents, we are unable to dispatch the plates.
Regarding your request for a refund, replacement number plates are personalised goods manufactured specifically to your order and are therefore exempt from the standard cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations once production has commenced.
We would still very much like to resolve this for you. If you provide the correct documentation via our secure upload facility, we’ll process your order without delay. Alternatively, if you contact us directly, we’ll be happy to review your case with you.
