Not impressed by this Consumer NZ run website. Not only is my current plan not present, the recommendation was wrong and should have said stay with your current supplier. Worse still is the email address requirement to see the results, used to harvest your email and harass you with Spam like urgency messages. It feels like Consumer NZ is getting backhanders from their recommendations and are desperate to close the deal at your cost.

Powerswitch gave me an inaccurate recommendation. My power bill increased by $15 a week after following its advice. Because it compared standard single‑rate plans instead of my actual Contact day/night plan. My household uses most electricity overnight and in early‑morning peaks, so day/night pricing is significantly cheaper for me. Powerswitch also assumed a generic usage profile and didn’t factor in my meter type or hourly consumption pattern. The result looked correct on paper but didn’t match my real‑world costs. Useful tool, but not reliable for non‑standard usage.

I used PowerSwitch website to choose a new electricity provider. Electric Kiwi came on the top as the lowest yearly electricity charges after assessing my power requirements. Hence I signed up with Elecrictic Kiwi. I received a ridiculous invoice for a 14day period as $277 and another invoice 5days $150 toatal of $427 just for 19days
It was a total rip off. Sent 2 emails inquiring the over charge. No one got back to me yet. Don't recommend these rogues please.
