Lyons Davidson Solicitors were provided to me by the insurance company to finalise my settlement claim after my no-fault accident.

Accident November 2023
I suffered an accident in November 2023, the other party admitted liability and my insurance company instructed Lyon Davidson to process my claim. . I’ve had to constantly send messages to ask for an update, if I didn’t then I would have no communication from them at all! My last message from them was December 2025 I’ve since left messages and asked for call backs but can only deal with a virtual assistant. A member of staff told me in December it would be going to court and she would start proceedings. I hadn’t heard anything, so I finally managed to speak to somebody at Lyon’s to be told that the papers still haven’t been issued 7 months later!!! It will be 3 years in November since my accident and my claim is minimal and mainly for my expenses that I have paid out. Totally unprofessional service from this company, do not use them!

Lyn Edward’s in Leeds office was outstanding!!!
Lyn Edward’s based in Leeds and office was my 3rd solicitor following a car accident in which I was not at fault. Her 2 predecessors were shocking. However, once Lynn took over the case, everything changed. She went above and beyond and the outcome was very favourable.

Without doubt the worst solicitors I…
Without doubt the worst solicitors I have ever used, constantly chasing them to do anything, more than 2.5yrs for the claim went to court, my barrister never turned which Lyons arranged, total sham. Then I won the case well 75% to 25% god knows how that works. Lyons got me just over £700 settlement what a joke. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your review. As liability was in dispute the claim had to proceed through the courts, and although the Advocate had made a mistake about the time of the hearing they were able to attend the same day. After hearing evidence from both parties, the Judge found in your favour to the extent of 75%. Medical evidence was then obtained and during negotiations you instructed us to accept an offer which was lower than our valuation because you did not want to proceed any further. We are sorry you were disappointed with the service provided.

In my opinion
In my opinion, Lyon Davidson is one of the least effective law firms I have dealt with. Based on my personal experience, they have been extremely slow in handling my case, provide very poor communication with their clients, and show little urgency in progressing matters. I felt that my case was not managed professionally or efficiently.
If you are considering using this firm, I would recommend researching other options before making a decision. This review reflects my personal experience.

Well looked after from start to finish
After being injured, I had the services of LDS managing my case and the impeccable Lauren Martin was assigned to look after me. She was a pleasure to deal with, provided clear communication and explained all the steps and timescales for each of the stages. A great service from start to finish
After hitting a brick wall in trying to get repairs carried out to my home under my 10 year new home warranty policy, I sought help from the legal route which is where Jonathan Davies, solicitor with Lyons Davidson, became involved. His calm, constructive manner was a breath of fresh air and he supported me through very stressful proceedings lasting almost two years but which resulted in a positive outcome and the work was carried out without recourse to the courts. Pretty poor overall
Pretty poor overall. The company is a large corporate in place for our home insurance, they are, in short, on the gravy train. I pointed out early on that the person who owed us money appeared on custom's house to have no money, no, I was told, we can continue the assessment. Several communications later, & a lot of time invested, sure enough, this was the very reason they couldn't take the case. They need to listen to customers first & foremost, rather than launching into a full assessment (costing the insurance) this check on finances should have been done first, not last. I was then informed not to bother claiming ourselves because of this custom's house account. They need to be aware that the customs house balance is only reflective of one day. Waste of time we will continue ourselves thanks.

We were instructed by your legal expense insurer to carry out a merits assessment to establish whether the claim that you wished to bring satisfied their policy conditions and therefore qualified for funding to pursue the matter.
While I note your comment that you pointed out early on that the other side appeared from Companies House to have no money, your insurer still required us to formally assess the merits and report our assessment to you and them in the form of a Letter of Advice.
I appreciate that it is disappointing that there are insufficient financial prospects and your insurer will therefore not provide funding to pursue the matter and I agree that this might change in the future. I would therefore recommend that you carry out a further check on Companies House when their next Accounts are due and if the position has changed please contact your legal expense insurer and request them to consider funding a further merits assessment.
