Excellent communication from day one. Way before I sat in an HGV I was kept informed of what would happen next and where.
Once I got behind the wheel I had 1 week including my test and my instructor Keith was fantastic with the perfect balance of encouragement and firmness, identifying the areas where I needed the most focus quickly so I was test ready in a relatively short time!! Highly recommended and all of the team that I met along the way were great to work with!

Leighton was brilliant from the word go with recomendations with how much time to book. Ady was spot on with instructing me on the driving! Very informative and straight to the point but also tells you why you do it that way. Highly recommend ady as your instructor!

Passed my class 1 yesterday. All the instructors are good but for me Eamon was the guy!

He really slowed me down and gave me some great trips that only experienced drivers would know.

I passed every part of the course first time and would highly recommend this driver school to anyone else that’s interested.

Eamon also said he misses working Mondays and Fridays 😂

Keith was fantastic explained every clearly he was also quick to point out any mistakes i made and made sure I corrected them in the right way i would tell anyone doing training to ask for Keith

I just want to say that my training with HDT has been absolutely fantastic, and Paul the instructor has been nothing short of superb.

From the very first day, his guidance has been thorough, professional, and incredibly clear. He explains things in a way that actually makes sense, and he doesn't just tell you what to do—he teaches you why it matters.

Yes, he can be tough on you when you're not doing something right. But honestly, that's exactly what you need when you're learning to drive a vehicle that can easily kill someone. He doesn't let you get away with bad habits, and I respect that massively.

What really sets Paul apart is that he genuinely cares. He's not just there to get you through a test—he's there to make sure you become a safe, professional driver. He stayed late, he pushed me when I needed it, and he believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself.

I've trained with other companies before, and no one comes close to the standard Paul sets. He's not just a great instructor—he's a really kind, decent bloke underneath it all.

I feel genuinely lucky to have learned from him. If anyone is thinking about doing their HGV training, I couldn't recommend Paul and HDT highly enough.

I’ve just passed my Class C licence first time, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.

The training at the Leeds centre was excellent, everyone was friendly and made me feel really well looked after. A massive thank you to Paul, who was an absolute top bloke and a fantastic instructor. He was patient, knowledgeable and had a great way of keeping me relaxed while building my confidence behind the wheel.

Paul gave me loads of great advice and really helped me improve throughout the training. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better instructor to get me through it.

Passed first time, get in! 😂

If you’re looking to get your HGV/Class C licence, I’d definitely recommend Hughes Driver Training, and if you get Paul as your instructor, you’re in safe hands.

Excellent service and training from Day 1.
Vehicle was in good condition, location is easy to find with toilets, office and plenty of parking. Neal was my driving coach and I couldn't fault him. Nice and friendly guy, encouraging but also strict and efficient when it came to vehicle checks and driving. Examiners were all friendly and supportive.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get into HGV.

All the staff are sound and straight to the point especially Paul. Taught me all I needed to know in a small amount of time. I would definitely recommend Hughes if your trying to pass your HGV

I completed my Cat C licence with Hughes. Had a very enjoyable week. Spent my week mostly with Rob but also had coaching from the other trainers whilst I was there.

My schedule was easy to follow and communicated well. I was comfortable I knew exactly what was required to pass my exam.

Great centre, they were fast and kind. Neal bawll was my instructor, he did a great job and allowed me to pass first time.
